Salava, Jan ; Trojánek, František (advisor) ; Žídek, Karel (referee)
Název práce: Optické vlastnosti křemíkových nanostruktur pro fotovoltaiku Autor: Bc. Jan Salava Katedra: Katedra chemické fyziky a optiky Vedoucí diplomové práce: doc. RNDr.
Study of physical properties of nanostructures using magneto-optical techniques
Beran, Lukáš ; Veis, Martin (advisor) ; Mistrík, Jan (referee)
Magneto-optical spectroscopy methods are used to study magnetic pro- perties of materials down to nanometer dimensions due to its high sensiti- vity and non-contact nature. This requires sophisticated experimental setup, advanced technical equipment and precise optical components arrangement. This thesis describes the basic physical principles of magneto-optical Kerr spectroscopy. On the basis of these principles is designed and developed a new, much simpler experimental setup with crossed polarizers. This arran- gement has the same order of sensitivity and accuracy of measurement as commonly used modulation techniques to which it is compared in this work. Finally, this arrangement is applied to the study magneto-optical properties of selected magnetic structures and these properties are discussed. 1

Hájková, Zdeňka ; Šmejkal, Petr (advisor) ; Procházka, Marek (referee)
This rigorous thesis is focused on possible ways how to implement interesting and important findings from the field called "nanoworld" into the curriculum of science subjects at secondary school. For this purpose the following materials were prepared: an educational text (which also serves as a theoretical base that summarises basic information about nanotechnology and nanoscience), a multimedia Power- Point presentation, a concept of a project "When you say NANOTECHNOLOGY...", a concept of an excursion, motivational and developing interdisciplinary tasks with the theme "nano", two tests aimed at nanotechnology and advanced microscopy techniques (electron microscopy and scanning probe microscopy) and simply demonstrations. The proposed project was tested at two grammar schools in Prague. The excursion was also realized and evaluated. Both the project as well as the excursion met with an average response from students. This thesis is accompanied by a CD with the presentation and print versions of the project, pre-test, post-test and worksheets for the excursion, interdisciplinary tasks and test items. In addition, the CD contains photos and students work from the realization of the pro- ject. Furthermore, this thesis includes the questionnaire "Teach (learn) about "nano" - YES or NO?" (with...
Magnetic nanostructures with application potential
Bittová, Barbara ; Holý, Václav (referee) ; Kalbáčová Vejpravová, Jana (advisor)
The thesis is mainly focused on the investigation of macroscopic and microscopic magnetic properties of selected nanomaterials containing cobalt and iron, and also the capability of our new device, scanning probe microscope Multimode V by Veeco, to directly visualise morphology and magnetic structure of these samples (Magnetic Force Miscroscopy, MFM). Investigated materials, such as CoFe2O4 nanoparticles and SiO2_Co_Si(111) thin films and multilayers are in general promising materials in many fields. In the medicine, the nanoparticles are used as the drug targets or contrast agents whereas in electronics, the (nano)granular thin films are the starting point in fabrication of high density storage media. The macroscopic magnetic properties of our samples are discusses in a view of superparamagnetic phenomena. The interactions in systems of nanoparticles are presented theoretically within the up-to date knowledge and also experimentally by demonstrating the behavior of the strongly-interacting, uper-spin-glass system. The thin films are studied in term of their granular structure and magnetic anisotropy. The morphology and the microscopic domain structure, respectively, are studied with use of the MFM. The first successful results obtained in our lab by this method are presented.

The theoretical part is formed by an overview of manufacturing nanostructured surfaces using anodic oxidation method. It mentions the influence of external factors on the geometric parameters of the structure and description of methods of characterization structures. Furthermore there is processed outline of use for biomedical application and the description of interaction of the cell with surface. The practical part includes description of the production of nanoporous and nano-tubular structures made on thin films of titanium by direct method of anodic oxidation on which was studied the influence of external factors. Described a procedure and production of nanorods structures and nanodots generated using alumina template (AAO) which is subsequently carried out the study of the behavior of cells, which includes tests of adhesion, examination of morphology of cells, assays of proliferation and differentiation. Structures are under investigation of the interaction of cells with the nanostructured layer compared with the smooth surface of the titanium dioxide.
Analysis of Nanostructures by ToF-LEIS
Duda, Radek ; Král, Jaroslav (referee) ; Mašek, Karel (referee) ; Dub, Petr (advisor)
The presented thesis deals with the utilization of TOF-LEIS analytical method in the area of nanostructure analysis. A new procedure for depth profiling of the elemental composition of the sample, based on the alternate measurement with the DSIMS method, was established. The TOF-LEIS method is able to detect the interface between the layers before its mixing by the ion beam of the DSIMS method. Furthermore, a procedure of TOF-LEIS spektra modification was established to obtain the actual concentration of elements in the sample by reduction of a multiple collision contribution. By comparison of TOF-LEIS spectra with the results received by the DSIMS method the ratio of molybdenum and silicon ion yields was obtained. In the next section advantages of the TOF-LEIS method in combination with XPS during analysis of thermal stability of gold nanoparticles are presented. The mutual complementarity of both methods is shown and final conclusions are supported by electron microscopy images. The final section deals with a newly assembled apparatus for the TOF-SARS analytical method and shows its possibilities regarding the detection of hydrogen on the graphene.
Application of Scanning Probe Microscopy for the Study of Ultrathin Films and Nanostructures

Electrochemical preparation of fluorescence sensor with highly ordered nanostructured surface
Bedlek, Marek ; Kolíbal, Miroslav (referee) ; Drbohlavová, Jana (advisor)
This work deals with fabrication and examination of optical properties of self-ordered TiO2 and Au quantum dots array and its potential usage in medicine as optical sensor for biomolecules detection. Controlled anodization of Ti through Al2O3 template was chosen as a fabrication method for TiO2 QDs, in case of Au galvanic deposition through Al2O3 template onto beforehand prepared TiO2 QDs or substrate with dimple structure. The influence of anodization and deposition conditions on the final structure of QDs and their emission spectrum is also examined.
