Drahný, Stanislav ; Mazuch, Martin (advisor) ; Ekrt, Boris (referee)
Participatory game in art education (revitalizing the phenomenon of postcard)
Andrlová, Aneta ; Raudenský, Martin (advisor) ; Jakubcová Hajdušková, Lucie (referee)
The bachelor's thesis entitled "Participatory game in art education (revitalizing the phenomenon of postcard)" aims to explain the essence of postal correspondence and at the same time reminds the importance of the written text, which is currently losing its value. The theoretical part of the work examines the historical background of postcards, follows their development and the processes associated with their production, including various reproduction techniques. It also focuses on the key terminology in the industry as well as on the important postcards themselves, artists, graphic artists and collectors. At the same time, it presents the leading projects related to postcards and marginally mentions the related medium, which is the postage stamp. The practical, research part of the work includes the idea of making a postcard machine, which would allow convenient purchase and immediate sending of postcards from a specific place. People would have the opportunity to choose from a certain number of curated postcard collections, the main essence of which would be to authentically capture the spirit of the given locality. This initiative would not only support local artists who would contribute creatively to the designs of the postcards, but also allow collaboration with non-profit organizations, with...
New synagogue Jablonec nad Nisou
Gorčák, Lukáš ; Baranyai, René (referee) ; Dulenčín, Juraj (advisor)
The subject of this thesis is the design of a new synagogue in Jablonec nad Nisou. The construction should be an impetus for the return of Jewish traditions and culture to the city of Jablonec nad Nisou. In addition to the synagogue, the buildings also include spaces for the Jewish community and the general public. The building program envisages the design of a synagogue, on the ground floor of which is located the ritual purification bath of the mikveh, then the administrative premises of the Jewish community, a community center with a library, a classroom and a lecture hall, a public part in the form of a kosher restaurant, and a museum with an exhibition space dedicated to Judaism. An integral part of the design is an outdoor public space that offers the possibility of recreation and spending free time. The location of the synagogue has a strong connection with the place of worship of the original burned down synagogue in Jablonec nad Nisou. Spreading awareness and preventing the spread of anti-Semitism is very important to the Jewish community. The building of the synagogue is located in a lucrative area in close proximity to the city center, near an important water feature, the river Lužická nisa. The attractiveness of the area is also complemented by good transport accessibility, especially from the nearby bus station and train station. Good accessibility is also ensured for car and bicycle transport. The individual buildings are designed in a minimalist way, so that they disturb the original historical buildings as little as possible, especially from the period of Art Nouveau and historicism. The form is three imaginary blocks. One separate synagogue is embedded in the slope where the original burned down synagogue was located. Next, two blocks connected to each other by a neck, which are turned towards each other in such a way as to respect the street line and at the same time open up the public space by the river. The facades of individual buildings are finished with concrete screed plaster. The color of the individual buildings is connected with the decoration of the original burned down synagogue. The pure concrete appearance of the synagogue enhances the importance of the sacral space and leaves the possibility of accentuating the decorative brass facade with perforated ornament. The administration and community center building is decorated in yellow tones. The building, which includes a museum and a restaurant, is painted red.
History of the German-speaking Inhabitants of the Czech lands in the Museum: Comparison of the Exhibitions Experience Homeland and Our Germans
Nagy, Kristýna ; Konrád, Ota (advisor) ; Swider, Malgorzata (referee)
The master thesis examines and compares two new museum exhibitions dedicated to the history of the German-speaking population of the Czech lands. These are the exhibition Experience Homeland in the Sudeten German Museum in Munich and Our Germans in the Ústí nad Labem City Museum. The subject of the analysis is the creation and current form of these exhibitions and the story of history they present to the visitor. Both exhibitions were documented and compared on the basis of a catalogue of questions based on a critical analysis of historical sources. The results of the analysis show that, although both museums were planned in the same time period and in an atmosphere that encouraged a shared critical perspective on the previously different interpretations of Czech-German history, the final forms of the two museums continue to present a significant part of history in different ways, and neither has fully fulfilled its original intent. The exhibitions present the 18th and 19th century periods very similarly and also critically reflect the development of nationalism among both Czech and German speakers. The political development of the 20th century, however, is depicted by the exhibitions each from its own perspective. The results of the research suggest that despite the current functioning...
