Use of Lapbook in Preschool Education

1 ABSTRACT The diploma thesis deals with the use of a lapbook in preschool education. The introduction of the theoretical part is dedicated to the explanation of the term lapbook and squashbook, the history of the lapbook, its use in Czech education and it aims to introduce this didactic aid. In connection with the theoretical preparation of the teacher for the creation of lapbooks, the theory of multiple intelligences and the types of learning styles are presented, which should be taken into account when planning the content of the lapbook. The positive benefits of working with the lapbooks in the areas of reading, information and mathematical preliteracy are presented. Furthermore, the three-phase E - U - R model, which will also be used in the research, is presented in theory. The practical part is devoted to the use of lapbooks in a kindergarten environment. It aims to compile the steps of teacher preparation for creating a lapbook, the creation of model lapbooks and methodical instructions for their creation. A qualitative approach to the research is applied with the use of case studies, participatory observation, unstructured and semi-structured interview and the analysis of the work with five lapbooks, which were created in the course of almost five months by five children aged 5-6 years. The diploma thesis "Interpersonal Multiple Intelligence and Its Development in B2 English Lessons" focuses on Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences with special emphasis on interpersonal multiple intelligence. The thesis consists of two main sections: theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part introduces the concept of intelligence, the theory of multiple intelligences and interpersonal intelligence. The practical part introduces the research that investigates whether, how and to what extent interpersonal intelligence is developed in B2 English lessons. It consists of two parts: the main part discusses the content analysis of two course books and the second part of the research - the questionnaire - complements findings of the content analysis.

Difficulties of an Adult Student in Learning and Remembering Vocabulary

This bachelor's thesis is intended to search for the most efficient methods, strategies, techniques and activities in learning and teaching English vocabulary regarding an adult student with difficulties in learning and remembering English vocabulary. The research is founded on theoretical part which deals with general questions of learning vocabulary, processes of remembering words and various approaches, methods, strategies and activities, with special focus on memorization. Practical part of this thesis is based on the student's characterization according to his multiple intelligence type. The research examines various techniques and activities which were used in lessons and their effects on the student's success in remembering words.
Exploiting pupils' multiple intelligences in the process of teaching English vocabulary

The diploma thesis is devoted to exploiting pupils' multiple intelligences in the process of learning English vocabulary. The theoretical part deals with the theory of vocabulary acquisition and the description of Howard Gardner´s multiple intelligences. The practical part deals with the application of these theories into lessons where activities connected with multiple intelligences will be used for new vocabulary teaching. The aim of this diploma thesis is to find out which types of intelligences will be the most effective during the process of vocabulary acquisition. This will be discovered by the test of vocabulary focused on vocabulary taught during lessons.
