Family of Children with severe multiple disabilities

This bachelor thesis focuses on the issue of a family with a child with severe multiple disabilities. The first three sections explain the concepts of combined disability, cerebral palsy and the family of a child with severe multiple disability. The actual research investigation follows a selected family with a child with a severe multiple disability. The aim of this paper is to find out how the selected social groups affected the selected family and to answer the set questions: what does caring for a bedridden child entail and what impact does this have on the child's family? Has the social circle around the family changed since the child with a disability entered the family? How does this affect siblings and which social areas of life are affected? The research inquiry is qualitative in nature and is completed through interview and observation. The interview was coded according to predetermined areas based on the sources studied. The results of this thesis contribute to a deeper understanding of the issue of families of children with severe multiple disabilities. Art therapy with children with multiple disabilities

This bachelor thesis focuses on the topic of art therapy for children with multiple disabilities. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part contains four main chapters. The first chapter defines the term art therapy. The second chapter describes the individual stages of artistic expression in children. The third chapter focuses on art therapy with children. The fourth chapter defines multiple disabilities. The practical part is research into the possibilities of art-therapeutic work for children with multiple disabilities. It briefly describes group work with children with multiple disabilities and applies a qualitative method of data collection using two case studies. Based on long term observation, it reflects on changes in the artistic expression of children with disabilities in connection with art-therapeutic effects.
Sense of physiotherapy techniques in the educational process of rehabilitation classes

The subject of this work is to investigate the educational activities in special classes of an elementary school for pupils with severe multiple disabilities, and particularly the involvement of elements of medical rehabilitation, used by a special pedagogue. In the theoretical part of the work an environment of rehabilitation classes is introduced, an educational process, that takes place here, and its specifics. Furthermore, basic methods used by the physiotherapists, while working with children with multiple disabilities, are outlined in here. The aim of this work is to specify mainly the particular possibilities of rehabilitation techniques and their effects in the educational process by a pedagogue without physiotherapy education. A casuistry of a specific student, who uses these kinds of techniques for her education, was processed as a part of this work. Particular methods and results attained through 1.5 year span are developed into a legible spreadsheet. The theoretical basis and practical findings showed that the involvement of rehabilitation techniques into the education of students with severe disabilities is not only beneficial, but even necessary to achieve positive results.
Possibilities of using therapies for children with combined disabilities during preschool age

The diploma thesis considers possibilities of using therapies for preschool children with multiple disabilities in special nursery schools and in common nurseries with special classes. Provides an overview of therapies which mostly occur in schools. Based on the theoretical knowledge about single therapies identifies, how are integrated into the educational process in kindergartens. The analysis of the questionnaire survey highlights the shortcomings, that were the basis for a proposal to streamline therapies in these facilities.

Use of basal stimulation in pre-school education

A dissertation "Use of basal stimulation in preschool education" has the aim to confirm a positive influence of the basal stimulation concept on upbringing and education of children with multiple disabilities in a special kindergarten. A theoretical part gives you a brief characteristic on the topic of multiple disabilities and cerebral palsy (CP). It brings you a view of the development of children with disabilities in the preschool period. A crucial part is dedicated to the basal stimulation concept as well as its basic and superstructural elements and biographical anamnesis. A research project presents the case studies and shows the use of the concept at particular work. It evaluates and confirms the positive influence of stimulation on children and presents a recommendation for pedagogical practice. Care and support of the elderly with multiple disabilities in retirement homes

This master's thesis, named "Care and support of the elderly with multiple disabilities in retirement homes," focuses on the potential admission of these persons to retirement homes in the Czech Republic. The aim of this study is to find out whether and under what conditions seniors with multiple disabilities are admitted to the standard type of retirement homes. The empirical section deals with the legislative basis for retirement homes in the Czech Republic. Furthermore, it deals with sight, hearing, movement and cognitive functions in old age. For each of these monitored areas, this section contains descriptions of the greatest functional changes in the daily life of a senior citizen. The research section of this thesis is based on the testimonies of individual retirement homes. Sixteen randomly selected retirement homes were sent an application for the admission of a grandmother with diagnosed deafness and blindness. Based on their answers we can observe the attitudes of the individual facilities regarding this issue, and their conditions for admission.
