The village is perceived from the point of view of legislation and spatial planning. The introductory part also includes a description of the historical development and structure of the villages and mentions folk architecture. The main part of the work is focused on the current state of Czech villages. There is a general analysis covering areas such as public space, public amenities, green, transport, monuments, or new development. Distribution of monuments in the public space of Prague, their symbolic importance and conflict nature
Koblížková, Adéla ; Hána, David (advisor) ; Daněk, Petr (referee)
This thesis examines the spatial distribution of monuments across public spaces in Prague. Its goal is to determine how these monuments, with diverse symbolisms, are arranged in the public space, how they interact with this space and the conflicts they generate. Because the symbolic meaning of a monument is so important, this paper explores the monuments' significance at the time they were built compared to their contemporary meaning. Based on field research and data collection, categories of monuments were created, mapped in ArcGIS software and then analysed in more detail. The paper considers the spatial distribution of monuments in the so-called Greater Prague, investigating the factors that have influenced their location supported by evidence from literature. This thesis also examines contentious monuments, particularly the Marian column and the statue of Marshal Konev, why they are perceived as problematic from the perspective of collective memory and how that is reflected in the city's spaces. The results of the analysis demonstrate that the function of a monument changes over time and society places great emphasis on its symbolic meaning. Contemporarily, the most common monuments are those depicting the tragic events of the World Wars, and these can be found across the entire area in scope....
Metternich - Nobile - Metternich. Patronage as a relationship with a changing constant
Petrasová, Taťána
This paper examines the authorship of an artwork as the result of patronage in which the social capital of both participants - the artist and his patron - changes. Initially Metternich drew on the symbolic capital held by the Italian architect, who had studied in Rome. Later the balance of their relationship was reversed. The variable element in this patronage was the imbalance between how the patron and artist benefitted from their social capital - one in terms of representation, and the other in terms of success on the art market.
Transfigurations of the image of the Czechoslovak Parachutists in Memory and Popular Culture 1945-1989
Cyrila a Metoděje, vždy s účastí veřejnosti a často i vládnoucího aparátu. Cílem práce je vysledovat na výše zmíněných oblastech proměny obrazu parašutistů ze Západu a jejich zasazení či vytěsnění z kolektivní paměti.

Revitalization of the Veľké Leváre Chateau
Bačiková, Lenka ; Vojtová, Lea (referee) ; Hrabec, Josef (advisor)
The aim of this work was to create a study of revitalization and restoration of the manor house and park in Veľké Leváre. During the creation of the design it was necessary to re-evaluate the cultural-historical values of the manor house, the construc- tional-technical condition, the requirements of the potential investor and the demand for functions in the village’s proximity. I have realized that placement of a mono-function in a mansion is almost impossible, considering its extensive ground plan. The manor house, thus, creates a complex of functions that overlap each other. The result of the entire design is a com- prehensive solution of the full use of the manor house with the park. Hence, the park will have a relaxing and recreational function. In the proposal, I have also offered a possible plan of stages of project’s works. The manor house and the adjacent park can, thus, fulfill the full function in the society again.
The impact of tour guide performance on tourists' satisfaction
ŠMÍDOVÁ, Eliška
Tourism is constantly changing as well as the requirements for tourist guides. The main purpose of the bachelor thesis is to determine the influcence of a guide's personality on the satisfaction of visitors in tourism. Two monuments and their guides have been chosen for this work. They are castles called Kámen and Červená Lhota. Necessary data are collected through a questionnaire survey. The main object of the survey is to answer how the guides influences visitors of the castles. The collected data are analyzed and the results are evaluated and interpreted in the form of tables and charts. A proposal for improvement of the performance of the guides is drawn and discussed with the managers of the monuments. These findings can help especially with training of new guides.
