Light on the Chest
Gračka, Martin ; Hlinka,, Dominik (referee) ; Artamonov, Vasil (advisor)
My paintings from the video game Silent Hill (1999) are supposed to be full of darkness, hopelessness, despair and melancholy. I choose subjects that are civil, boring, when almost nothing is happening in the painting. Subtly and with an emphasis on atmosphere and mood, instead of explicit visuals. I want every ordinary thing, like a plant or a piece of furniture, to carry the weight of that world. The game has a very strong and emotional story that is taken out of its original context. It is therefore not necessary for the viewer to know the original, and thus he gets space to create his own story. My goal is not only to capture the visuals from the video game, but also to evoke the feeling of being present in this terrifying world. Feelings of mystery, fear, hopelessness, loneliness, darkness and something surreal. To materialize these virtual experiences into a physical likeness through painting. We can look at places that we used to look only through a monitor anywhere and at any time, but now they are mediated by matter and we can even touch them. To create a painting form so that it had formal qualities, it managed to convey the essence of imperfect graphics while at the same time describing the horror world.
Frequency and composition of fog in the Czech Republic
Esterlová, Jana ; Hůnová, Iva (advisor) ; Stráník, Vojtěch (referee)
This thesis deals with the occurrence of fog in The Czech Republic and its composition. It engages in current status and also historical evolution (since about the second half of 20th century). The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part is the research of the professional literature, which sums up the results of realized studies, explains terms connected with fog and describes methods used for fog quantification. The second part contains results of my own study for the city station Prague-Libuš (1971-2015) and mountain station Churáňov (Šumava, 1961- 2015). The fog is an often underestimated phenomenon, which has provable influence on water balance and contributes to the atmospheric deposition, especially in mountain ranges, where the occurrence is higher. The composition of fog is being changed during the observed time. The amplest ions are in most cases NO3 - , NH4 + , SO4 2- , Cl- a Ca2+ . In connection with decreasing general air pollution shows, it goes also to reduction the concentrations of pollutants in the fog. Because of the lower content of these particles the occurrence of fog might be also lower in the cities and former highly-polluted regions caused by the lower number of condensation nuclei, which is noticeable on Prague-Libuš. In connection with global warming there are...
Visibility at the Praha Ruzyne airport
Kusáková, Kateřina ; Žák, Michal (advisor) ; Pišoft, Petr (referee)
The goal of this bachelor thesis is to show the importance of visibility in flight operations. There are settled minima of visibility for each process, which must be achieved. Visibility has its own daily range, which is closely connected with solar radiation. Its also connected with a vertical structure of atmosphere, direction and speed of wind and current weather conditions. Visibility achieves its lowest values during intensive precipitations and in a fog. Mainly because of an appearance and lasting of a fog, there are compilations at the airport and very often a special procedures must be taken for an organization of flight operations. An appearance and lasting of a fog has a big influence on flight operations and that is why I pay an attention to this in my work. I concentrated myself not only on the daily range of visibility and its dependency on the direction of a wind, but on conditions of appearance and ending the fog as well.
What is the water contribution of fog to atmospheric deposition? Use of stable isotopes.
Hanusková, Darina ; Hůnová, Iva (advisor) ; Šantrůček, Jiří (referee)
The objective of the Master thesis is to estimate the fog contribution on atmospheric deposition with the usage of stable isotopes. The crucial part of the thesis was to perform (first of its kind in the Czech Republic) the relative isotope composition 18 O a 2 H of fog. In the same time, the composition of rain and throughfall was performed. The collection of each type of precipitation took place in five sampling points of Academy of Science within three mountain regions including Krkonoše, Šumava and Jizerské Hory during October and November 2017. The sampling took 14 days in total and it was performed by using TC/EA ThermoBremen and mass spectrometer Delta ThermoBremen at South Bohemian University in České Budějovice. The results confirmed that fog is isotopically heavier in comparison to regular rain. As for the relative isotope composition 18 O and 2 H of each areas, no significant difference was observed. Results of the fog participation on atmospheric deposition in Krkonoše and Šumava can be seen after drafting a simple linear mixing model. The fog contribution on atmospheric deposition in Šumava for 18 O is 4,7 % and for 2 H is 6,4 18 O. For one area in Krkonoše, the average participation for 18 O is 3,6 %. Key words: stable isotopes, oxygen, hydrogen, fog
Mist
Volkova, Zoya ; Kudělka, Vladimír (referee) ; Vaněk, Vojtěch (advisor)
The "Mist" is a visual narrative project on the border between 2D digital games and interactive animation. The virtual space here thematically take place between key words such as dream, sleep, limbo, phase of sadness, phase of dying. Subsequently, a form of metaphor is elaborated with the help of a non-existent landscape with specific elements (trees, plants, and others). Road through the countryside, road through the mist. Part of the movement of virtual space is a survey of linear processing over time.
Hevlín – place in the landscape
Moutelíková, Veronika ; Eichlerová, Eva (referee) ; Ponešová, Barbora (advisor)
Railway. A line of houses hidden in the fog. A majestic steam powered locomotive. Although the great era of steam engines is long over and the built railway network is unfortunately gradually losing its significance, this part of history forms an important part of technical evolution and its significance for the transformation of human society. The surroundings of the station buildings are now quiet places, through which people only passes towards their final destination. Hrušovany nad Jevišovkou-Šanov railway station is also dealing with this problem. The diploma thesis focuses on the project of tourist attractive objects for the revitalization of the location of Hrušovany railway station near the Czech-Austrian border. New buildings inspired by steam, as an element of strength and movement, complement the development of the railway station and apartment building. Together they complete another line in the layout of the station with the track.
Realistic Model of the Sky
Kussior, Zdeněk ; Bílek, Václav (referee) ; Drahanský, Martin (advisor)
The paper describes a theoretical base and realization of realistic volumetric clouds visualization in an environment of real-time simulator. The first part is concerned with a meteorological background of this problem. I show international classification of ten basic cloud types including a short description and cases of occurence. The following part is concerned with an interaction between cloudiness and simulation core, which is based on the fact, that each cloud acts as a mechanical or an electromagnetic obstacle. This should be considered on some way in simulation. The next part describes technologies and practical implementations of visualization and evaluates their characteristics. Finally, the last chapter describes my implementation and tries to outline project advancement.

This Bachelor's thesis deals with the creation of a graphics intro with the executable file size limited to 64kB. The graphics intro is created using the OpenGL API and related libraries. The thesis describes many techniques for a graphics content generation including procedural generation, Perlin noise, mipmaps, volumetric light, face culling, instancing, fog, skybox, and techniques used for reduction of a size of the executable files. The result is a graphical intro showing a night city.

Minařík, Antonín ; Matýšek, Michal (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
This thesis deals with creating a graphics intro, which's size has to be below 64~kB. Described and used techniques includes: Phong reflection model, fog, skybox, generating textures from noise and shadow mapping. Intro is placed in a city and techniques of generating elements of the city are described. In addition, there are described methods for reducing file size and system for camera animation.
