Comorbidity of psychical and autoimmune diseases

Mental and autoimmune disorders represent a wide range of different diseases and are currently one of the most common health problems. In recent years, a significant association between these two types of disorders has been observed, supported by both their frequent coexistence and other important findings such as shared genetic risk factors, the discovery of neuronal surface antibodies or immune system changes related to some mental disorders. This work attempts to map the autoimmune diseases that occur more often or rarely in patients with various mental disorders (and vice versa) and also describes possible mechanisms that may play a significant role in the development of this phenomenon. Ethical aspects of guardianship

This thesis discusses the issues of public guardianship in the current practical and legal context. It deals with human rights, the question of the limitation of incapacitation, and the conditions that must be met. I present here, what the different types of guardians are, or what are the rights and obligations of a guardian. I think about the ethical issues in conjunction with guardianship, that relate to human dignity and freedom. In conclusion, through talks I'm trying to look into practice of public guardianship and determine what problems the public guardians deal with.
Representation of mental disorders in early works of Chuck Palahniuk

This thesis is concerned with the ways mental disorders caused by trauma are represented in the novels Fight Club, Invisible Monsters and Survivor by Chuck Palahniuk. The theoretical part focuses on introduction of the mental disorders and trauma, while the practical part analyses the individual ways the disorders are presented in the novels.
Integration of people with mental disorder

This Bachelor´s thesis is writen around the topic of mentally ill people and their integration into society. First part of the thesis should define classification of mental illness and different categories of mental illness and also different ways of treatement should be described so as proceses of resocialization of those who are affected back into the society. The purpose of the theoretic part is therefore a summarization of theoretical knowledge in the field of mental illness and treatement of mental illness. The second part of this thesis is practicaly focused and focuses on the research of opinions and information of the general public about mentaly ill people and the results are comprated with the statements of respondents with actual mental illness. The aim of the practical part is then sumarization of the reasearch to the topic and providing options for closer research. At the end there is an recapitulation of the informations colected while research and recomendations that can lead to the better awareness of the general public about people with mental illness.
Gamers fighting depression - Strategies of video game players against feelings of depression

This thesis examines the motivation of players of video games for their playing, and the strategy of these players for overcoming feelings of depression, using the methods of grounded theory. The first part deals with the approach of sociology and selected studies towards the issue of video games and mental disorders, to which I then relate the findings of my own research at the final chapter. In the second part of this work I present what methodology has been used and how. In the final part I lead a discussion about the findings and outcomes of my research.
The phenomenon of writers committing suicide

This bachelor thesis discusses the phenomenon of writers commiting suicide. Firstly, the theoretical part describes suicide as a psychological phenomenon and presents the risk factors and forms of suicidal behaviour. Great attention is given to the relation between creativity, mental disorders and suicide. Viewegh's concept of bilance suicide among writers is also presented, followed by various research projects focusing on the possible causes of writers taking their own lives. Various studies show that there is a higher percentage of suicide among writers, and especially among poets, than among other artistic careers. The key question of this thesis is whether or not is this "suicidal language" of writers displayed in their works. The psychological analysis of a literary work (e.g. linguistic predictor of suicide) is dedicated to finding answers to this question. Lastly, the limits of previous studies are presented at the end of the theoretical part of this thesis. The empirical part presents a proposal of a research project which aims to replicate previous study on prose texts. Possible limits of this research design as well as possible further research proposals are presented in the discussion. Stigmatization of patients with mental illness

This bachelor's work looks into stigma as a mark of difference. It is specifically targeted on stigmatization of mentally ill people. The aim of this work is to find out which factors affect position of mentally ill people in Czech society and also to find out in what amount is the stigmatization present. Theoretical part of the work contains basic information about mental illnesses and stigmatization in connection with them. It discusses summary of history and describes creation of negative stereotypes, prejudices and discrimination in connection with stigmatization. Next issue of this work is sorting of stigmatization by several criterions. Practical part of the work is a way to get answers to research questions whose target is to find out, how certain individual with mental defect or illness perceive position of mentally ill people and their potential stigmatization. Analysis of six half-constructed interviews is inseparable part of this work and it provided crucial information to this study. In the last part we are given answers to the research questions. Stigmatization of people with mental illness is present in today's society, according to the respondents. However, they feel stigmatization is being eliminated recently. How much is the mentally ill person affected by the stigmatization is...
