Recitation in education at the first grade of primary school

In my diploma thesis I focus on children's recitation in education at the first grade of primary school. The theoretical part describes the basic elements of recitation, age specifics, which related to recitation. It justifies why it is useful to include recitation in education depending on the outcomes of the Framework Educational Programme for Primary Education in Czech Republic. It focuses on the interpretative and construction means of the recitation form and shows the basic methods of work by which they can be developed in teaching. Finally, it also describes the role of the teacher in this creative process and the method of assessment suitable for recitation. The practical part is divided into three parts and is firstly devoted to research in the form of a questionnaire survey on the state of recitation in primary school teaching. The second part includes semi-structured interviews with first grade teachers mapping in more detail their approach, ways of working and motivation of the children. The final part includes two sample lessons on how recitation can be worked on in the primary school curriculum.
Possibilities of Cognitive Lingvistic Concept Metaphor

Résumé This diploma thesis under the title Posibilities of Cognitive Lingvistic Concept Methaphor has two goals. The first is describe teachers attitudes towards methaphor in literary education. The second is show a posibilities of new concept of methaphor. There are two parts of thesis: theoretical and practical. The first part defines methapor as linguistic, literary and cognitive phenomenon. I also deal with a way how cognitive lingvistic concept of methaphor improves a process of education and how it interconnects the lessons of literature and Czech language. The second part of thesis is based on a research of results. I describe a general approaches of teachers toward methaphor during an interpretation of poetic text. I compared these approaches with an inovative education model. Finally I made a few suggestions of new approach to educational process in literary education
Development of readership through poetry in primary school

The goal of this Master's thesis was to support the development of the practice of reading and literacy especially of students of the lower primary school by my own and verified methods. I have observed the development of the children's relationship to reading and their reading skill as long as there was focus on reading and further activity with poems in class in lower primary school. I have also observed the extent, to which is reading of poems and activities related to it supported by reading books, how students work with the text and what they learn by this work. My thesis has among other activities focused on the necessity and contribution of children's recital a dramatization of poetry. I have worked with children from 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5thgrades of elementary school and also from the 1st grade of 8-year high school, within the scope of literature class, a so-called reading class, within the scope of literary - dramatical branch of art elementary school and drama in education. On the basis of this thesis I can state that working with poetry has significance for a discovery or an establishment of a relationship to reading and understanding of a text for students of the afore mentioned classes. Reader's Popularity of Characters in Harry Potter by Children of Primary School and Secondary School

The diploma thesis is focused on the problems of children readership and its main aim is to reveal the influence of the literary work that is very popular among readers on the interpretation of concrete literary text. By the means of research it tries to detect how the work Harry Potter by J. K. Rowling and its popularity affect the perception of literary text with respect to pupils of the 6th grade in primary school and students of 1st year in secondary school. The defined aim is studied mainly through reader's perception of literary characters in the concrete literary text; the main focus is aimed at perception of character hierarchy, creation of relationships with characters and perception of the main character of the work Harry Potter. Thanks to these findings it is possible to say whether the children readers are able to perceive the concrete literary text independently on the work by J. K. Rowling and its popularity or whether they are constantly under its influence and are not able to free themselves from its dominance. Interpretation of text message

Abstract The thesis is dealing with possible ways of interpretation of text message. Particular emphasis is put on the processes which take place within reader during interpretation. Main benefits of the work are creation of the original model of interpretation based on the Shannon-Weaver mathematical model of communication and its placement into wider interpretation theory issue. First part of work describes widespread Shannon-Weaver mathematical model together with matching model of interpretation. Also, there is described a model of communication which was adapted especially for use of interpreting on interpersonal communication by means of text. Practical use of current theories of interpretations is outlined as well, together with the detail description of the term of information value of message for author, reader and objective observer. In the second part, process of interpretation is described and situated on improved communication model. The Eco's Theory of interpretation is also described here on examples.The theory is further expanded by elements of the work of D. R. Hofstadter, Stuart Hall and S. Pierce. In thesis the emphasis is put on the role of the reader during interpretation. Third part deals with previous theories, compared in transparent process of interpretation of text. The process is also expressed using a graphic modeling tools. Fourth part is devoted to presentation of the case study which illustrates the process of interpretation of text message, based on extended model of Interpretation.
Child´s Hero in an Extreme Situation

This dissertation is devoted to the topic of Child{\crq}s hero in an extreme situation inspired predominantly by the Czech literature of the 1950{\crq}s and 1960{\crq}s. The essential material for my work was works of the following Czech authors: Arnošt Lustig, Karol Sidon, Josef Fuks, Jan Otčenášek, Ludvík Aškenazy a J.R.Pick. Besides them I also used books by the French writer Romain Rolland which I compared to the Czech works. The dissertation is divided into two parts. In the first part I devote myself to the concept of extreme situation itself. I try to define this concept from the point of view of psychology as well as to show its concrete manifestation in individual works. The second part deals with interpretations of the works in the framework of which I explore the issue of an extreme situation.
The Philosophical Dimension of a Story: Using the Story in Philosophy for Children Program

The thesis is focused on finding the philosophical dimension of a story, with respect to stories for children. It is also concerned with the variable possibilities how to use stories in the Philosophy for Children dialogue. Using the knowledge of literally science and using the articles about the role of story in Philosophy for Children, the thesis elaborates the definition of the philosophical dimension of story. Its further attempt is to suggest general method how to seize the philosophical dimension of every possible story for the purpose of philosophical dialogue with children. The suggested method is applied on the stories The Little prince by A. Saint-Exupery and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis in the last part of the thesis.
