Bočková, Anežka ; Bláha, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Čech, Viktor (referee)
Bočková, A.: Artificialism as a specific Czech inter-war style [Diploma thesis] Prague, 2016 - Charles University, Faculty of Education, Department of Art Education. 118 p. This diploma thesis has the character of comparative analysis, which deals with the Artificialism as specific Czech style in the period between two world wars. This work maps its position in the interwar art. It finds resource for a development of art and literary style similar to poetism or the Devetsil association. The poetism brings a new view of the world. The Artificialism is its visual equivalent that provides identification of the painter and poet, or poetry and image, or the topic of memories of memories. The thesis also presents the main and only two members of Artificialism - Styrsky and Toyen, and discusses their work, ideas, practices and theoretical works. I analyse the tensioned relationship between Artificialism and surrealism in the conclusion. The important finding is that artificialism is the original and most peculiar style of the interwar avant-garde, not only an intermediate step between Cubism and Surrealism, as it was presented in last years. On the base of theoretical part there was made the concept of practically proven didactic series, with reference to the Framework Education Programme and to the...

HUMAIN – Design, Art, Humanities and Artificial Inteligence
Matějová, Alina ; Kořínek, David (referee) ; Macháček, Mikuláš (advisor)
Artificial intelligence is a symptom of the future of the 1980s, a technological phenomenon esoterized by millions of lines of code, a spirit in a machine, an artist of generative design, a scarecrow fictionalizing dystopian surrealism. Artificial intelligence has been talked about for a long time, in various fields from information and communication technologies through sociology and political science to design and art. Czech scientific fetishism guarding the boundaries of disciplines, showing what we are and what the others are, where designers have nothing to say about the work of anthropologists and not at all programmers, who in turn can never know anything about philosophy or microbiology. Ivory towers protruding in the void suspecting those towers at a safe distance. The HUMAIN project and conference seeks to go against this and find common ground and common narratives between design, humanities and art. We are not talking about terminological multiplication, we do not want to bring interdisciplinary leveling. HUMAIN is a platform for finding a common language and establishing cooperation. We do not want William Gibson to write the future, but to reflect artificial intelligence from as many angles as possible and to aim for the greatest possible emancipation of people, robots and the planet.
Fronta na maso – Husákova stodola – Stalinova ponožka. Prague Non-standardized Urbanonymy as a Tool of Silent Resistance and Collective Humour in the Time of „Bright Tomorrows“
Ptáčníková, Martina
The toponymy of the urban area seems to be a difficult structure with a lot of layers. It is created by standardized (official) names and also by non-standardized names. Non-standardized names rise spontaneously, they are used in spoken communication and sometimes they can even replace the official names. This paper focuses on non-standardized names used during the communist era. These names had a special functions: they ironized former regime and they were sort of a defense against re-naming of public spaces. The onomastics has not paid attention to these names yet, although they were really important. They had considerable social role as well as comic role and it is necessary to collect them. Only a small amount of the oldest people know them now. When eyewitnesses pass away, these names will disappear forever.
