The bachelor's thesis Blue Box follows a long-term project that began in 2013, when I was on my way to the east coast of the USA. I began creating a mystical Blue Box story around the mythology and ideology of xenophobic movements, after a mystical experience in New York's Orthodox Jewish Quarter and attending a Ku Klux Klan public gathering in Gettysburg. In thematic terms, my work is a universal report about the dangers of extremism in any form, focusing on the essence and mechanisms of its origin and spread.
Motivating Factors for Radicalization in Balkan Muslim-Majority Countries

The topic of religious radicalization in the Balkans is gaining attention among academia in recent years. However, motivational factors of radicalization in the region still remain rather under-researched. Furthermore, comprehensive research focusing particularly on the motivational factors of Islamist radicalization in the Muslim-majority countries of the Balkans - countries with a specific context and background unique in the wider Europe - hasn't been yet carried out. This paper thus elaborates on the motivational factors of radicalization in the Muslim-majority countries of the Balkans, which is Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania and Kosovo, by applying generally-known factors of radicalization to this specific theatre. Predominantly secondary sources as well as documents issued by the OSCE which maintains field presence in all of the abovementioned countries are utilized in order to provide a thorough overview of motivational factors of radicalization in each of the selected countries. Criminological aspects of hate crime

The aim of the thesis on the topic of Criminological aspects of hate crime is to comprehensively cover the issue of this particular crime in the Czech Republic, its specifics and differences from other types of crime. The work is divided into eight chapters. The first chapter is introductory and gives the explanation of the concept of hate crimes, its characteristics and division. This chapter also contains analysis of the crimes, where the motive consisting of racial, ethnic, religious and other hatred is a sign of a basic or skilled fact in issue. In the second chapter there are terms extremism, racism, xenophobia, anti-Semitism, nationalism, terrorism, their definition and division discussed in more detail. Chapter Three and Chapter Four are focused on the offenders and victims of hate crimes. They concentrate primarily on how are the offenders and victims of these crimes distinguished from the offenders and victims of "normal" crimes. The fifth chapter explains the most common form of commission, the most common objects and offenders of hate crimes. Dissolution of political parties as a tool for defending democracy: a comparison of the Czech and German debates

This master thesis focusses on the issues of sanctioning antidemocratic political parties in the Czech Republic and in the Federal Republic of Germany, as well as the discussion of the expert public in reaction to practice of the Supreme Administrative Court or Federal Constitutional Court. It is a comparative paper, therefore all issues are analysed from the Czech as well as the German point of view and the comparative chapter summarizing main coherences and differences always follows. The thesis is divided into six parts, which aim to map the matters related to banning political parties. Firstly, the theses is focused on the regulation of political parties in the Czech Republic and in the in the Federal Republic of Germany to provide theoretical backgrounds for better understanding of the topic. Consequently, both the introduction into problematic of the concept of defending democracy and the analysis of its demonstration in the constitutional law of the Czech Republic and of the Federal Republic of Germany follow. Freedom of speech and racial extremism

Apart from the basic definitions used in the paper, the main objective of this bachelor thesis is especially mutual correlation of freedom of speech as the one of basic human rights and race extremism which is undesirable phenomenon in mature society. The first section is devoted to definition of term "freedom of speech" by means of legal regulation included both in Declaration of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms and international agreements. To specify freedom of speech exactly, it is necessary to consider its limitation in a series of documents which are also mentioned in the introductory section. The second section of the thesis is focused on the definition of another significant term often used in the thesis - race extremism. A part of this section is a smaller sub-section containing one of many cases of race attacks. The main reason for choosing this case was personal participation of the author of this thesis in the attack. The main objective of this sub-section is not only presentation of the actual case but application of theoretical knowledge in this concrete case. Workers party (of social justice)

This thesis deals with the development and position of the far-right Workers Party (DS) and the Workers Party of Social Justice (DSSS) in the political system of the Czech Republic. The work also includes a theoretical part, dealing with different views on extremism and radicalism. Also discussed is the position of the far-right parties in Central and Western Europe. The main goal is to capture the roots of the Workers 'Party, but also action and ideological bases its successor the Workers Party of Social Justice. Emphasis is placed on the presentation of the party and demonstrations. They are namely the main way to reach supporters. The thesis also analyzes the election results of DS (DSSS) and try to include the party in the Czech party system according to the theory of Giovanni Sartori. There is also a description of the organizational structure of the party and its affiliated organizations. The last chapter discusses the symbolism and iconography of the party.
Revolta project - new political direction

The bachelor thesis "Project Revolta - new political direction?" analyses the group Revolta.info. This group tries to create a more complex idea, which called the Third way and defines particularly against communism and capitalism. The group tries to prevent their inclusion in right - wing and left - wing political spectrum. The group defines itself also againts the current political system. The main values that Revolta.info recognize are nacionalism and social justice. The group is profiled by their website, where we can find their manifest, historical roots and specific cases of their activities. To their promotion they are using the new kinds of ways in order to distinguish them from other extremist groups. Riot photography in the context of the Czech environment after the year of 1989

This thesis explores various aspects of riot photography in the context of the Czech environment after the year of the 1989, with focus on the far left. First, it introduces the subjects of protests, new radical activism as well as describes the role of photography in protests. It deals with the role of the media in protests and linked with that topic, it also describes informing about protests, concept of moral panic and the media's ability to form meaning. Furthermore, it deals with iconic photographs, the issue of objectivity, emotional side of riot photography and photojournalistic ethics. In addition to that, it clarifies what extremism really is, it defines the far left, and it maps the history of the far left in the Czech Republic after the year of 1989 on a selected groups, especially anarchists. In the context of the far left it also describes the biggest riots in the Czech Republic. Portraits of four Czech photographers - Jaroslav Kučera, Karel Tůma, Karel Cudlín and Petr Vrabec, follow. In the final part it examines aspects of protest photography by interviewing selected photographers, and through analysis of their photographs it analyzes styles of shooting protests and it reveals a potential imaging stereotypes.
Radicalization of the Greek Society and the Rise of Political Extremism in Greece (2000-2012)

This essay describes the radicalization of the Greek society and the rise of the political extremism in Greece in the period of 2000-2012. In this time important changes could have been observed in the Greek political scene and in the society which were linked to the polarization of the electorate and the growth of populism, nationalism, euroscepticism, xenophobia and racism. As a result of modernizing efforts of Constantinos Simitis cabinet (1996-2004), which were related to the Greek ambition to become fully-fledged member of the EU and the Eurozone, under the influence of globalization, immigration crisis and finally the recent slump of the Greek economy, a new social conflict emerged in Greece. This essay analyzes these problems from the perspective of the cleavages theory by Seymour M. Lipset and Stein Rokkan and tries to find social and political roots of such conflict. The radicalization of the Greek society between 2000 and 2012 does not represent a new phenomenon, but is is a continuation of long-term ideological clashes present in the Greek social reality since the World WarI. After identifying the main cleavages in interwar and postwar period the essay identifies the main conflict of Greece after the fall of junta in 1974. Afterwards it confronts the new political issues of the period 2000-2012...
