Modern Application for Household Heating
Šoupal, Filip ; Brázdil, Marian (referee) ; Lisý, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on the research of basic sources, methods, and possibilities of heating modern family houses. The thesis is divided into three parts, the first one is focused on the advantages and disadvantages of individual heating sources in the use of renewable and non-renewable energy sources. The next section thoroughly describes and compares the methods of heating considering current emission standards. At the end, there is a technical and economic comparison of the variant of the current gas boiler with the variant of the automatic coal boiler and the modern heat pump. The comparison in interpreted on a model house through performed calculations. For better accuracy, the thesis is enhanced with pictures and tables.
Uninterruble Power Supply (UPS)
Suchý, Petr ; Sekora, Jiří (referee) ; Chmelař, Milan (advisor)
My Bachelor's thesis deals with the question of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS). Continual power supply is required in many branches of the industry at the present time. It is very important to provide for question of UPS and it is necessary to evolve that. My qualified work refers to singular types of back-up power supplies, their possibilities and places of application. The work includes the proposal of block scheme for monitor located in the ward of intensive care, defined requires for each type of blocks and proposal of automatic packaging battery with 50Ah capacity.
The influence of electrolyte additives to lead-acid batteries properties
Dohnal, Martin ; Zimáková, Jana (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
This day is a lead battery is most prevalent in the automotive industry. Which is a source of energy when starting the car. In recent times the battery is used not only for startups, but also when driving in city traffic. This behavior can know the concept of a hybrid car. Which is used an electric motor which as a result reduce emissions standing cars in cities. The electric motor is powered by lead-acid battery and a rapid discharging and reducing battery life. To extend the life developed additives to the electrolyte. In the thesis, these additives investigated. If they really have a positive effect on the battery.
Hydrogen: energy storage for the future
Studýnka, Radim ; Škvařil, Jan (referee) ; Martinec, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of this work was to characterize the hydrogen as energy reservoir, to characterize the ways of its storage, to describe its position in possible future scheme of energy sources and to name energy sources, which can be used to produce it. Another objective was the characterization of the current state of the used energy sources. In the opening part is described the current state of energy sources, the characterisation of the hydrogen follows together with description of its possible future status. In the next parts are described production, storage and use of hydrogen. In the near future can be expected, that the hydrogen will be produced from fossil fuels at the beginning, especially due to their availability, and they could be replaced after some time by alternative sources of energy. One of these sources could be nuclear power. Storage of hydrogen in the liquid and gaseous state is currently the most widely method especially due to relatively well known technology. Metal hydrides and porous materials could become common storage medium of the hydrogen in the case of mastering their technology. The hydrogen can be used in stationary applications for cogeneration units, which produce heat and electricity. It can be also used in mobile applications for drive vehicles, which use hydrogen engines or hydrogen fuel cells.
Using Biomass for Cogeneration of Heat and Electricity
Vašíček, Martin ; Macháček, Jan (referee) ; Toman, Petr (advisor)
Theoretical part is concerned to disposal of biomass kinds and various forms of applications. The basic characteristic for each kind of biomass and their forms are presented. Characteristics of energy plants and woods are more detailed. In work are described two fundamental kinds of combustion, fluid combustion and grate combustion, which are used in power plants and heating plants. The work describes process of gasification and obtaining wood gas from biomass. Evaluation of (energy plants, wood biomass and the rest from agriculture production – straw) in light of heating power, treatment, handling, ash creation and environment pollution is provided. Work is concerned to redemption price history, volume of produced biomass and perspective to future. Czech Republic legislation gives support to biomass usage by guarantee for electric energy purchasing and same redemption price perspective. Explain term of cogeneration, possibility of cegeneration units application – their kinds with fuel usage aspect (biogas, natural gas, wood gas). Practical part is concerned to design of such kind of unit. Cogeneration unit will be installed in company, which producing wood. For this reason will be used wood biomass to produce wood gas. Size of unit, fuel consumption, and cost saving in comparison to electric energy together with recovery of investment are calculated. In work is drawn out possibility to connect this unit to distribution electrical network, possibility of electric energy distribution and due this to improve backflow. Noticeable are possibilities to get state grant from various grant sources.

Knowledge about and evaluations of nuclear fusion – May 2019
Červenka, Jan ; Ďurďovič, Martin
In the Our Society survey of May 2019, the annual battery of questions on energy issues was complemented with some special questions. Also included were questions on nuclear fusion as one of the potential energy sources that has long been in the focus of research by many countries and international groupings. More specifically, the survey inquired whether people have ever heard of nuclear fusion and what, to what extent they feel familiar with the topic, how they perceive the pros and cons of nuclear fusion in terms of continuing or discontinuing research into it, whether they find nuclear fusion to be a good or rather bad option to produce energy, and whether they are in favour or against the development of fusion energy in Europe.
Use of Nutritional Supplements in Individual Sport Sectors
Weiser, Martin ; Hájková, Jana (advisor) ; Svobodová, Irena (referee)
The aim of the diploma thesis was to determine, which nutritional supplements are selected by athletes of strength and endurance sports branches and what is the reason for their option. The theoretical part characterizes the 8 selected sports sector from point of view of the sport performance structure. There is also mentioned the issue of nutritional supplements, their division, legislation or general recommendations for the use in sport. The last chapter deals with the requirements for the use of nutritional supplements in different periods with respect to the branche of sport. Research part has specifically determined the nutritional strategy for athletes in the field of mentioned food supplements at strength and endurance-oriented sports disciplines by using the questionnaire. The research is supported by an interview with an expert nutritionist and sports through collaboration with the staff of the Centre for Sports of the Ministry of Interior
