Energy drinks in contemporary nutrition

Bachelor's thesis is dealing with consumption of energy drinks and their effects on the human organism. The introductory part gives an overview of the most frequently occurring components of energy drinks including their chemical composition, properties and sources of these substances and nutrition recommendations. The next section describes the effects of consumption of energy drinks on the human body and health in general. The final part deals in detail with the impact of their consumption on sports performance and on human health and the possible consequences of consuming energy drinks combined with alcohol.

The bachelor thesis is a literary research devoted to energy drinks. The introductory part of the thesis describes the general characteristics of energy drinks, their history and legislation. Next part of the work is focused on the availability of energy drinks on the Czech market, their production and individual raw materials used for production. The thesis further describes natural alternatives that are used for the production of energy drinks, which include Panax ginseng, Guarana, Ilex paraguariensis, Ginkgo biloba and Cola nitida. The last part is devoted to the physical and chemical methods used for the analysis of individual components of energy drinks, such as the determination of carbohydrates, organic acids, vitamins, alkaloids, antioxidants, amino acids, inositol and glucuronolactone.

Abstract: The aim of this bachelor thesis is to find out whether high school students are sufficiently informed about the possible risks of consuming energy drinks, and to what extent their knowledge is associated with their personal consumption of these beverages. The theoretical part is concerned with the actual concept of an energy drink, its ingredients and the drinking regime in general. Furthermore, it also informs about the potential dangers of energy drinks, already executed studies and available measures. The practical part is focused on the questionnaire survey, conducted among the high school students, which tries to find out what their experience with energy drinks is, and whether their knowledge of the effects and dangers of energy drinks is sufficient. The consumption of energy drinks for students at two selected secondary schools

This diploma thesis examines the awareness of students in terms of the risks of energy consumption at two selected secondary schools in Prague according to the number of correct answers. Firstly, it deals with the description and composition of energy drinks in order to find out which substances they contain and how they can stimulate the body. It describes the origin of energy drinks and their development and impact on society and people. The composition of energy drinks is examined and the individual ingredients are inspected, including their effects. In case of objection, the positive effects of consumption are also examined along with consumption risks. The most important part of the thesis is to compare and evaluate the specific health impact on the consumption of energy drinks and the awareness of their effects. Not only is the health impact evaluated, but the social and economic impacts, advertising and the influence of famillial or social background are evaluated also. Cílem Bakalářské práce je definovat komerční komunikaci společnosti Red Bull GmbH na českém trhu. Teoretická část práce pomůže pochopit druhou, praktickou část. V práci bude čtenáři krok po kroku představena značka Red Bull a její skrytá identita ale také obraz v očích konzumenta. Umožněné to bude analýzou postavení společnosti na českém trhu, spolu s jejich jedinečným a originálním způsobem komunikace. Dále realizace případové studie Red Bullu se uskuteční skrz primárního výzkumu, který sloužil jako hlavní zdroj informací.

It starts with the idea of introducing the new energy drink to the Czech Republic and focusing it on the current situation and the market place. The next part describes the marketing plan outlining the possibilities of brand communication. The end part contains the findings that could be used to introduce this product onto the Czech market.

Abstract: This thesis deals with the demand for energy drinks. The aim of this paper is to examine the characteristics of the demand. The theoretical part will deal with the explanation of the terms and describe the basic factors that determine the demand. The theoretical part will also include the marketing mix, which is a function of the demand and the practical part of this work. In the practical part I will try to analyze current demand for energy drinks by means of a questionnaire.

Analysis of communication strategy of Red Bull Czech Republic

In my thesis I focused on the analysis of communication strategy of Red Bull Czech Republic, specifically on advertising, communication at the point of sale, public relations and media communications, opinion leaders program, event marketing and digital communications. I started from global communication strategy represented by Red Bull Media House and I have examined, how this strategy is implemented at local level. For this analysis, it was also necessary to analyze market of energy drinks in the Czech Republic, as it stands under the category of soft drinks and what position takes Red Bull. Based on these analyzes, I evaluated pros, cons and suggested possible improvements.
