Panská, Šárka ; Jelen, Karel (advisor) ; Pokorný, Jan (referee) ; Radvanský, Jiří (referee)
Title: Influence of Hyperkinetic Load on Selected Mechanical Changes of Human Axial System. Objectives: The main aim of this thesis is to determine the influence of hyperkinetic load on the change of selected mechanical properties of the rhythmic gymnastic axial system based on the sophisticated use of the Transfer Vibration through Spine (TVS) method. Methods: The following experimental methods were used to identify changes in rheological properties of AS and to assess load intensity: 1) TVS method; 2) software for evaluating and analyzing vibration tests of heterogeneous systems; 3) kinematic and dynamic motion analysis using:  2D motion video recording,  QUALISYS 3D motion analysis system,  KISTLER, to analyze dynamic human-surroundings interactions. Results: Pilot studies and the main experimental part of the thesis have shown that the use of the TVS method can identify both short-term and longitudinal changes of AS mechanical properties. Due to the hyperkinetic load, the selected mechanical properties of the rhythmic AS are changed. The gymnastic apparatus reacts to the training load by reducing the rheological parameters, especially the damping coefficient b and the viscosity µ. After regeneration, which is on the following day, the parameters return to the default values. The impact load...

Lacko, Radoslav ; Polák, Petr (advisor) ; Žáček, Jan (referee)
Charles University Faculty of Social Sciences Institute of Economic Studies MASTER'S THESIS The Elasticity of Demand for Gasoline: Evidence from the Czech Republic Author: Bc. Radoslav Lacko Supervisor: Mgr. Petr Polák MSc. Academic Year: 2018/2019 Abstract Studying the price responsiveness of the fuel demand is popular topic among researchers. The price elasticity is used for predicting future tax revenues, or fuel consumption under various situations. This thesis focuses on elasticity estimation for the Czech Republic using high frequency evidence. We use the process of data mining to get the Czech evidence. Observed elasticity differs by the data aggregation level. Estimated long-run elasticity range between −0.38 and −0.68 for gasoline users and between −0.43 and −0.54 for diesel users. Much lower elasticity was estimated in the short-run that confirms economic theory. Stabilizing function and elasticity of muscle tissue and their possible effect on acute and chronical injuries of lower back and lower limbs in football
JŮN, Pavel
This bachelor thesis deals with the problems of stabilizing function and elasticity of lower limb muscles and their possible relationship to acute and chronical disorders of a lower back and lower limbs in football. The thesis is divided into two main parts. In the first part of the thesis theoretical knowledge about connective tissues, articular and muscle system as the components of the muscular sytem with the emphasis on its stabilizing function are described. In this theoretical part terms connected with ability to create and keep the stability of the body or its individual segments during the influence of external power are also defined. The most common injuries of the lower limbs during football playing are also described as same as mechanism of their origin. Possibilities of physioteraphy as possible prevention of particular types of injuries. The second practical part is worked out on the basis of modified kinesiologic analysis performed at selected players of football club TJ Sokol Černovice. Research sample is characterised here and the reasons why this sample was chosen are explained here. For the research itself anamnestic data were taken by the form of interview. After that aspection examination took place. Then the probands went through the line of the tests which invetigated the state of shoretning of the key muscles groups and their stabilizing function. According to above mentined components of investigation the final modified kinesiologic analysis was done. On the basis of in advance created subjective range which was definied by the therapist final evalution was set. Data gained during this analysis were compared with obtained anamnestic data. The aim of the thesis was to find out how much the quality of torso stabilizers and lower limbs together with the elasticity of lower limbs can be connected with the amount of injuries and with myofascial pain syndroms of a back and lower limbs. On the basis of ascertained data we can presume that insufficient stabilizing function and shortening of lower limbs muscles can be connected with the amount of injuries and myofascial pain syndromes.
Mathematical analysis and computer simulations of deformation of nonlinear elastic bodies in the small strain range

Title: Mathematical analysis and computer simulations of deformation of nonlinear elastic bodies in the small strain range. Author: Vojtěch Kulvait Department: Mathematical Institute of Charles University Supervisor: prof. RNDr. Josef Málek, CSc., Dsc. Abstract: Implicit constitutive theory provides a suitable theoretical framework for elastic materials that exhibit a nonlinear relationship between strain and stress in the range of small strains. We study a class of power-law models, where the nonlinear dependence of strain on the deviatoric part of the stress tensor and its trace are mutually separated. We show that these power-law models are capable to describe the response of a wide variety of beta phase titanium alloys in the small strain range and that these models fit available experimental data exceedingly well. We also develop a mathematical theory regarding the well-posedness of boundary value problems for the considered class of power-law solids. In particular, we prove the existence of weak solutions for power law exponents in the range (1, ∞). Finally, we perform computer simulations for these problems in the anti-plane stress setting focusing on the V-notch type geometry. We study the dependence of solutions on the values of power law exponents and on the V-notch opening angle. We achieve...

This bachelor thesis consists of two parts - the translation and the commentary on it. The first part introduces the functionally equivalent translation of the study Sobre la pobreza: orígenes, cuentas y evolución en el Perú y en el mundo by the Peruvian economist Juan José Garrido Koechlin. The study concerns the origin of poverty in general and describes the current situation in Peru. The second part of the thesis begins with the analysis of the source text according to Současná stylistika and the extratextual and intratextual factors according to Christiane Nord. Then, the overall translation strategy is stated, and finally, the solutions of particular translation problems are described.
Analysis of meat demand in the Czech Republic
Dlasková, Karolína ; Ščasný, Milan (advisor) ; Polák, Petr (referee)
Meat and meat products form the highest share of Czech household expenditures for food. This thesis offers a complex view on the Czech meat market and studies in detail the determinants of meat demand. A review of the most frequently used demand models is included, from which the least squares log-log model is used for empirical analysis. The core of this thesis is the estimation of price and income elasticities of demand for various types of meat based on statistical data of household accounts from the years 2000 - 2012. The estimates are, with the exception of the price elasticity for beef, which equals 0.13, consistent with previous studies. Within the examined period, households manifest unitary income elasticity and own price elasticity of demand for meat equal to -1.2. The temporal evolution of elasticities varies for different types of meat. Important socio-demographical aspects influencing the demand for meat, such as age, education, whether the household is led by a female, and others, are also analysed.
Price Elasticity of Alcohol Demand: A Meta-Analysis
Fanta, Nicolas ; Havránek, Tomáš (advisor) ; Zeynalov, Ayaz (referee)
The own-price elasticity is considered to be one of the key factors describing the demand for alcohol. There have been many estimates computed by now but only a few studies tried to analyse them. The aim of this meta-analysis is to discover more about the eventual effects that publication bias might have in the alcohol-related literature. The first part describes the various types of elasticities and the methods of estimation. This study is estimating the so called true effect elasticity in order to show how elastic the demand for alcoholic beverages is. As there are many ways how to estimate the elasticities it is also analysed if different approaches to the estimation lead to different results. The use of modern meta- analytical methods leads to significantly different results from the ones of previous meta-analyses. The estimated true effects yields new evidence that the demand for alcoholic beverages might be perfectly inelastic. Evidence of publication bias is quite strong and it appears that the economics research cycle hypothesis is also valid.
