Feasibility of EU decarbonisation plans from the production capacities point of view
Vařejka, Tomáš ; Pešek, Martin (referee) ; Hejčík, Jiří (advisor)
The presented master's thesis aims to process a critical study on the feasibility of decarbonization plans in the EU from the perspective of production capacities. Decarbonization, or the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from the burning of fossil fuels, is the main tool for transitioning to a carbon-free society. The thesis presents the main European decarbonization plans, such as the Green Deal or Fit for 55, and evaluates the EU's previous climate policy. In accordance with these plans, decarbonization scenarios for the transition to new carbon-free energy sources are proposed for the target years 2030 and 2050, both at the EU and national level for the Czech Republic. Based on the proposed scenarios, the required capacity of new carbon-free energy sources is determined. The thesis also includes the determination of current production and implementation capacities and an assessment of their limitations. The result of comparing the required new sources with the current capacity is a proposal on how to increase these production and implementation capacities to theoretically achieve the set decarbonization goals.
CARBON Visitor Center
Warta, Roman ; Šindlar, Jiljí (referee) ; Marek, Jiří (advisor)
Aim of the bachelor's thesis is design of a multifunctional center in the area of unused coal mine Frenštát that is situated in the land register of village Trojanovice. The object is intended to be in the center of the area and should serve as the main point for its visitors and the visitors of Beskydy in general. The center also serves for the exhibition focused on the planned black coal mining in the locality as well as on energy decarbonization and alternative energy sources.
CARBON Visitor Center
Vajs, Jakub ; Šindlar, Jiljí (referee) ; Marek, Jiří (advisor)
The bachelor thesis follows on from the revitalization project of the former black coal mine Frenštát – CÉRKA, by the architectural studio Kamil Mrva architects s.r.o. It deals with the design of the visitor center, on a plot located in the center of this area. The result of the proposal is a solitary building located in the space between the four original buildings of the mining infrastructure. Its main task is educational spreading of awareness about the history of the area and its immediate surroundings. The solution offers possibilities for supplementing and improving the cultural life of the inhabitants of the surrounding areas.
CARBON Visitor Center
Kukučková, Nina ; Šindlar, Jiljí (referee) ; Marek, Jiří (advisor)
The designed building should fulfill the function of the visitor‘s first contact with the former black coal mining complex near Frenštát pod Radhoštěm. For this reason, its character should be welcoming, friendly, amiable, it should welcome visitors to the area and at the same time set the desire in them to get to know the area, the region and the Beskydy Mountains more deeply. The visitor center should represent just a small taste of what the area has to offer. The design works with the idea of the atmosphere in a forest, in a mountain environment, in nature therefore it uses natural materials only. The concept uses selected fragments of the forest such as light, space and structure, which are further transformed and reflected in the design.
Comparation of the National Energy Concept and European Energy Strategy until 2020, 2030 and 2050
Turková, Nikol ; Zeman, Martin (advisor) ; Maule, Petr (referee)
The thesis deal with comparison of the National Energy Concept of the Czech Republic and the European Energy Strategy until 2020, 2030 and 2050. It points out the main goals and strategies of these documents, compares them and analyzes, whether they contain new energy targets or not. The first hypothesis (1) concerns, if the European Union´s energy objectives and strategies are different compare with the objectives and strategies of the Czech Republic´s. The second hypothesis (2) asks, if the official concepts adequately reflect new trends in the energy market. The contribution of this thesis lies in emphasis on different goals of individual energy strategies and in proposing a solution, which could help the Czech Republic get closer to the European Union´s goals. The theoretical part of the thesis introduces the energy market, characterizes energy market and defines the Czech Republic´s energy resources, subjects of the energy market of the Czech Republic, legislation affecting the Czech Republic´s energy market and energy security and independence. In the practical part, the author compares energy concepts and points out the same and different goals of these strategies. The author also focuses on new energy trends and proves that energy concepts do not reflect these new trends adequately. This disproves the hypothesis (2). The author adverts to the goals that the Czech Republic fulfills in the strategy of the European Union´s program but also points out the different goals that the Czech Republic does not fulfill. This disproves the hypothesis (1).
The study of the effect of burning process on the properties of lime
Urban, Karel ; Bureš,, Jaroslav (referee) ; Dvořák, Karel (advisor)
At the institute of technology of building materials and components at the fakulty of civil engineering in Brno was initiated research deal with study of the effect of limestone on the progress of decarbonization. This work is an introductory study into this problems. It focuses on describing the genesis and diagenesis of limestones, their crystallography, texture and requirements for burning. Further describes the extraction and treatment of limestones before burning. In very burning is focused on its mechanism and the used furnace systems. In the experimental part is focused on the analysis of samples of limestones of various world sites in terms of petrology, geological origin, chemical composition, the content of insoluble residues, density and porosity, and analysis of formed limes, burned at 900 °C in terms of density, CO2 content and crystal size.
Decarbonization and Common Transport Policy the EU
Volková, Anna ; Bič, Josef (advisor) ; Vošta, Milan (referee)
The target of this diploma theses is to evaluate the Common Transport Policy of the EU and the development of decarbonization in world and European economies. The first chapter focuses on the role of transport in economy, common transport policy of the EU and its environmental aspects. Next chapter is specialized in adoption of the Kyoto protocol, than in the global and European development and decarbonization in transportation. Last third chapter aims on the future of decarbonization and the alternative fuels.
