Circus pedagogy and possibilities of use of it in physical education classes for primary school

This bachelor theses focuses on circus pedagogy and evolution of circus itself with the main focus on new circus and educational forms of circus. Furthermore, it explores the possibilities of use of the circus pedagogy in physical education classes in primary school. It describes how to teach elected disciplines of circus in the environment of classical gym, which is not specially equipped for circus activities. As the main disciplines it chooses ground, paired or group acrobatics, equilibristic and juggling. The practical part of the thesis presents an education plan based on methods and practices of circus pedagogy and interviews with experts in the field of New circus education and circus pedagogy. Furthermore, the practical part presents a record of passed lessons with four classes from the first grade on elementary school in PE lessons held according to the education plane presented in the practical part and also a reflection and evaluation of the passed lessons. Circus as a Specific Type of Subculture

Bachelor's thesis is focused on culturological analysis of circus as a specific type of profesional and art subculture. The first part describes evolutionary changes of this subculture, the second one is based on knowledge derived during in-field research. This had form of anthropological empiric probe and was based on observation and interviews. French New Circus

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to indicate the possibilities of application of a cultural theme into teaching French as a foreign language and to use benefits not only for an improvement in the language skills but also to broaden cultural general knowledge. The cultural phenomenon and the main theme of the study is new circus that originated in the 1970s in France by combination of the traditional circus and the street theatre. The first part of the thesis describes the history of the circus. The second part is concerned with contemporary types of the circus art with an emphasis on new circus. After the terminological specification we will pursue the expansion of this art abroad and we will observe the influence on the art in the Czech Republic. The third part focuses on the composition of the methodological sheets serving as the models for teaching French classes with the intention of broadening cultural knowledge and improving the language skills. Contemporary Cirkus as a Dramatic Art. From Contemporary Cirsuc Performance Analysis to is Aesthetic Discourse

This dissertation introduces contemporary circus as a type of dramatic art. The work thus provides a basic framework for the analysis of contemporary circus and suggests a terminology for the designation of its specific traits. This terminology is derived first and foremost from the Czech theatre studies environment. The theoretical delineation of contemporary circus stems from selected theses from Otakar Zich's The Aesthetics of Dramatic Art and Erika Fischer-Lichte's The Transformative Power of Performance: A New Aesthetics. Contemporary circus, which is depicted as belonging to several discourses - historical, aesthetic, cultural policy and pedagogical, is described from a formal as well as content-focused point of view in order to best point out how the circus element changes and takes on meaning in relation to its theatrical counterpart. The thesis is subdivided into five parts. The introduction outlines the key theme, goals and methodology as well as terminology and theories which provide the work with a suitable point of departure. Teatro salone italiano in Prague

This BA thesis paints a portrait of one of the most interesting Vinohrady arenas, a permanent variety theatre founded by Italian theatre entre- preneur Eugenio Averino in 1875. The work partially departs from scarce entries in extant scholarship but mostly relies on independent source research, focused on a detailled study of the advertising and reportage tra- ced within contemporary periodicals and surviving theatre posters and programmes. The goal of the work is to provide as precise facts as possible concerning the theatre itself, its programme and the people performing in it and participating in its activity, with emphasis on a detailled differentiation of the individual stages of the theatre's development and with consideration for the theatre's position within Prague's cultural life.

The French New Cirque and its foot prints on the Czech theatre scene

ABSTRAIT Bachelor thesis French new circus and its foot prints on the Czech theater scene deals with the origins, development and current status of the new circus in France and the Czech Republic. The term new circus is defined and the circumstances under which the new circus develops are explored in the first part. The thesis attends to the present situation of this genre in its country of origin - describes the most important companies of the new circus and festivals, mentions the possibility of circus education in France and the status of this genre in the French cultural scene. The second part deals with the influence of French new circus on Czech cultural scene. The thesis surveys the arrivals of French circus group, observes an increasing cooperation and seeks the causes of this development. The thesis deals both with French companies' visits to our country and mutual Czech-French projects (the Forman Brothers). The last section provides an example of a case study of La Cirk Putyka as an adoption of the new circus in the Czech Republic. It refers to the new coming trend of mutual cooperation. It is no longer limited to a single influx of French circus to the Czech Republic and started to develop also in the opposite direction.

Puppeteers, gymnasts, vendors, blade sharpeners. Changes of life strategies of itinerant lineages between the late 18th and early 20th Centuries

The hereby presented thesis pursues the occupations of puppeteers, gymnasts, vendors, blade sharpeners and changes of life strategies of itinerant lineages between the late 18th and early 20th Centuries. Above all, the research was anchored at various registers - firstly comprising registry offices, censuses, registers of homestead participants or residence applications. These were supplemented by the then public press, remembrances of contemporaries and other sources. The historical and demographical analyses based upon genealogical outputs were the dominant methodological background, the subject of which primarily became the characteristics of itinerant individuals and their place within society. The author also inquired into their ethnic origins and specific ways of earning one´s living. The pivot of this treatise, nonetheless, was to reveal true historical circumstances having once brought into life a number of widespread clan legends. Neither marriage strategies were omitted as they provided proof of certain behavioural patterns of both the itinerant and settled individuals. Last but not the least, attention was paid to the sojourn and life en route within this roving peripheral community, the presupposed uniqueness of which was fully proved in every respect.
