Motivation of Adults to Formal Education

This bachelor thesis is focused on formal education of adults, mainly on motivation of adults for returning to formal education system. It contains basic terms and definitions (lifelong learning, adult person, adult education, formal education, motivation and barriers) using professional literature of Czech and foreigner authors. The thesis brings overview of possibilities that adults have on all educational system levels. Also it describes the barriers that the adults have to face when they are interested in continuing education. The thesis includes quantitative empirical survey carried out in the form of a poll, collected data were analyzed and commented. The survey presents specific kinds of adult during continuing formal education. Motivation for continuing education and factors affecting participation in continuing education

The aim of this bachelor thesis "Motivation for continuing education and factors affecting participation in continuing education" is to analyze what motivates adults to participate in continuing education and what are main obstacles in adult education. The paper consists of two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals with an overview of basic knowledge about the issue with the use of literature, both domestic and foreign authors. The second, practical part contains a description of own empirical survey. The aim of the survey is to identify the main reasons for adults to participate in continuing education and detect the most common barriers, obstacles to such participation. The survey is trying to confirm the conclusions from the theoretical part by the analysis of the select company. People with disabilities entering university

This bachelor thesis focuses on people with disabilities entering university at a specific stage of the life cycle. This particular stage of the life cycle is called emerging adulthood and includes the age range from 18 to 25. These young adults are experiencing an important milestone in their lives. In this case, this life milestone is entering university. This group of people has to deal not only with their disability but also with the pressure associated with this life stage. This the pressure is mainly from their family and college, but also from the whole society. The main goal of this bachelor thesis was to find out the conditions of people with sensory and physical disabilities at Charles University when they are entering the university and during their subsequent studies at this university. I tried to map the stage of emerging adulthood in these people and reveal some common features. The other goal was to reveal the most common obstacles that these students may encounter on their journey to obtain a university degree. I also wanted to find out how help and support both from the state and from Charles University work for students with disabilities in this particular stage of the life cycle. Barriers to education for children from socially excluded localities from their parents point of view

Diploma thesis deals with pupils from socially excluded localities and their education. The theoretical part defines the term socially excluded locality and deals with distinctive features that influence the situation of people living here. The Roma minority, which is often associated with social exclusion, is also characterised, and unfortunately is still frequently represented in socially excluded localities. The main topic is a socially disadvantaged pupil, their needs and current educational opportunities are taken into account. Special attention is given to Roma children and pupils with regard to cultural and ethnic specifics. The practical part is processed in the form of 12 case studies describing individual families from socially excluded localities and their attitude to children's education. The main objective of the research was to identify barriers that influence the education of their children from the parents' point of view. Partial objectives focus on other circumstances that families may have to limit access to school in relation to their social situation.
