Heinrich Schliemann: autobiography

On January 6, 2022, is 200 years have passed since the birth of Heinrich Schliemann. He is called the Founder of Mycenaean archeology, archaeologist-amateur, gold digger, impostor, and even a charlatan. Schliemann was born in a small Prussian township but lived an extraordinarily bright life, the ultimate success of which was the excavations of ancient Troy and Mycenae. Heinrich Schliemann considered himself this not only fate but he felt that he was born for this purpose. Is it so? Does the "Dream of Troy" have its roots in Heinrich's childhood? Which of what Schliemann wrote about himself can be trusted, and which is deception, exaggeration, or adoption? The thesis dedicates to the historical and philological analysis of all autobiographies of Heinrich Schliemann to bring all known biographical information to a common denominator, filtering out mystifications and obvious borrowings, separating real facts from embellishments and hyperbole as well. The limits of autobiography in Nebe nemá dno

This thesis, The limits of autobiography in Nebe nemá dno, explores the limits of the genre of autobiography, using the novel by Hana Androniková as an example. Using selected examples, it attempts to capture the motifs and references in which this novel transcends the defined conception of the autobiographical genre and thus stands on its borderline. Theoretical concepts dealing with the limits of the autobiographical genre and its contradictions is applied to this text. In its next part, this thesis follows selected story lines and contrasts them with real events in the author's life. The records and testimonies of the author herself, as well as those of her family and close friends, are also important material for this research.

Musical and pedagogical legacy of František Maršálek

The diploma thesis deals with an important musician from Litoměřice, pianist, teacher and composer František Maršálek (1921-2013), who was also the director of the Litoměřice Art School in 1951-1985. His life, his work at the Litoměřice Art School and his composing activities are gradually described in the individual chapters. Part of the work is devoted to the memories of Maršálek's former students and colleagues. Selected Maršálek's compositions are finally presented in the last part of the work.

Use of Autobiographical Motifs in Works of Edgar Dutka, Eliška Vlasáková and Antonín Bajaja

The work confronts prosaic pieces with noticeable autobiographical features. It deals namely with works of Edgar Dutka, Eliška Vlasáková and Antonín Bajaja. It was not a coincidence to choose right these three Czech authors. They have quite a few features in common. They all belong to the same generation. They are born in the 40's of the 20th century, so they have spent an essential part of their lives (childhood, adolescence and substantial part of their working age) in the second half of the 20th century - in the time of political convulsions and social changes. A childhood spent during this period has become their common literary theme. They all make their memories a literary piece. Each of them does it in a different way and with a different amount of accuracy. Their inspiration comes from their real life, from their memories. The next common feature of these three authors is that they all wrote some of their texts without a vision to make them public. They wrote them for themselves. Book editions were carried out after the year 2000. Last but not least mutual fact is that all of these three authors have been nominated for a prestigious literary price. Akutagawa Ryūnosuke and His Considerations on Literature

The thesis is focused on a literary theoretical debate between two outstanding Japanese writers: Akutagawa Ryunosuke and Tanizaki Junichiro. As a reaction to this debate, Akutagawa wrote a literary critical essay Bungeitekina, amarini bungeitekina (Literary, All Too Literary) which contains Akutagawa's considerations on literature and which is analyzed in this thesis. I have also devoted my thesis to other literary theoretical essays written by Akutagawa. The goal of this thesis is to follow the influence of Akutagawa's literary considerations of his works and also to set his work into the wider context of Japanese literature. Hermeneutics is the methodology chosen for this work. To achieve the set-out goal, biographies on Akutagawa and other literary studies focused on Akutagawa were studied.
