Analyzing a person’s handwriting for recognizing his/her emotional state
The problematics of the evolution of euthanasia and assisted suicide in the United States of America in relation to the development of global human rights
Kovalenko, Marija ; Raška, Francis (advisor) ; Sehnálková, Jana (referee)
My thesis addresses the question of how the issue of euthanasia and physician-assisted dying in the United States of America has been evolving in relation to the development of human rights. Taking a long-term view, arguments of the current debate on the issue of evaluation of both practices, euthanasia and physician-assisted dying has revealed the persistent controversial stance on moral justifications of ethics dissonance and the economic response. The point is to illustrate the scope of the dissociation by analyzing arguments and counter- arguments in relation to the question of the bilateral interweaving and interaction with respect for fundamental human rights and a synopsis of the ethics of dying that take into account the abuse of euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide. The interpretation of the development of the attitude of American society and the American medical diaspora has been reflected. In euthanasia and physician-assisted dying debates, analytical synopsis of the development of tolerance in American society in the context of rational choice in view of the economic, ethical, and religious assumptions and the possibility of an alternative option have been critically scrutinized. Given the ambiguous nature of ethical permissibility and legalization of euthanasia and assisted...
On the TEKAMOLO rule in the modern German language
Ekimova, Svetlana ; Maroszová, Jana (advisor) ; Šemelík, Martin (referee)
This bachelor thesis researches the problems of the usage of the TEKAMOLO rule, which determines the sequence of the Adverbials in a German sentence. Its main aim is to make an attempt to give an exact definition of this rule and also to determine the conditions under which it can be used in the communication. The thesis is divided in two parts: a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part there are some explanations of the TEKAMOLO rule given which can be found in textbooks and grammars of the German language and some terms explained which are related with this rule. The practical part has primarily to show how the native speakers and those who study German as foreign language understand the rule. Then there are some further aspects mentioned which affect the word order and which can modify the sequence of Adverbials determined by the TEKAMOLO rule.

TITLE: Place six-and eight-year grammar schools in the Czech education system AUTHOR: Richard Šťastný DEPARTMENT: Department in English language SUPERVISOR: PhDr. Václav Trojan Ph.D. ABSTRACT: This bachelor's thesis deals with the problematic of reopening six-and eight-year grammar schools. Since the reopening in 1990 their existence have been criticised for not being justified. In this thesis the arguments are given for and also against their preservation. The theme of these schools is introduced in the theoretical part of the thesis. The historical context and the position of these schools in the modern school system are presented and questioned. The empiric part is a quantitative research in which opinions of various experts in this field were compared. The main aim of the research was to find out how the actual work position of interested subjects influences their attitudes towards the existence of these grammar schools. Argumentation in mathematics teachers' beliefs and practices in the context of the Czech Republic
Žalská, Jana ; Vondrová, Naďa (advisor) ; Hejný, Milan (referee) ; Kaenders, Rainer (referee)
I aim to describe how teachers' beliefs and practices influence the way mathematical argumentation is conducted in lower secondary mathematics classroom within the Czech curricular context. I present results of two studies: the first one characterises the Czech curricular context, namely, the national curricular document and aspects of justification of mathematical statements in selected series of mathematics textbooks. The second study reports on characteristics of teachers' beliefs and practices as related to argumentation on an example of six purposefully selected teachers, via interviews and observations of their lessons. Finally, I select three teachers with differing approaches to teaching and describe specific observed instances in their practices in relation to classroom norms regarding argumentation, justification of general mathematical truths, and aspects of arguments. I show how teachers' beliefs, a textbook and pupils may influence the observed arguments. The studies show that a teachers' emphasis on efficiency (fulfilling school curriculum demands) on one hand and on sense-making on the other lead to distinct implemented curricula. The curricular context and teachers' practice analysis suggest that justification of general truths is generally seen as important but without clear cognitive aims...
The effect of divorce of parents on child development by the eyes of child
ROŽNOVSKÁ, Martina
The bachelor thesis deals with the problem of divorce and its influence on children. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and an empirical part. In the theoretical part the parents´divorce, child´s reaction to it, the reason for which the marriage is falling apart, what happens with the child after parents´ divorce even what consequences a divorce may have are all characterized. Further on, the theoretical part elaborates on how boys and girls deal with a divorce or how unique children vs. children who have siblings deal with it, as well as how a child reacts to their parent´s new partner. The goal of the thesis was to describe authentic memories of those adults whose parents got divorced. Two research questions were given: 1) What does a divorce mean for a child? 2) How does a child cope with the divorce? To carry the research out, I have selected a qualitative strategy, the method of data gatehring was an (semistructured) interview and focus groups. Content analysis of noted intervies and discussions, specifically cluster method, was chosen as the data processing method. Ten adults of 20-35 years of age, who went through the experience of parents´ divorce, were asked. The research results have proven that some adults have been strengthened by their parents´ divorce, some adults are still seeking for themselves and do not exactly know what to do with their lives. Most adults have agreed that they do not want to do the same mistakes as their parents. Most adults hate what was the cause of their parents´ divorce. That is why some adults who have gone through their parents´ divorce, are afraid to enter a marriage. If children were born, parents want to keep the family together. If parents argue they do not want their children to be the witnesses. If parents do not understand each other, they rather leave their partner than let their child grow up in an unwelcoming environment which the parents were growing up in themselves. The bachelor thesis might be an information material for experts working with children in a critical situation and for experts working in courthouses.

Types of Love in the Context of Bioethical Arguments
SMRČKOVÁ, Leona
The thesis deals with kinds of love, their classification and characteristics. Another topic is euthanasia, its classification and arguments in favour of/against its legalisation. The basic aim of the thesis is to describe these concepts and to try to find a connection between them, to try to answer the question whether love can be argument for euthanasia, and if it can, then why.It tries to find possibilities and ways of action motivated by love, using cases already published of terminally ill people. It searches for the benefits of these findings for the work of a social worker.
