Project for the new houses of city library and mediatheque, solves the concept of redesigning the old industry area Sevelin in the city of Lausanne, Switzerland. Here should the new social and education district takes place, what brings a new metropolitan lifestyle. Two objects of library and mediatheque end up the rows of rational city grid at this platform. They define the new open space in between as a new entrance area on the platform Sevelin. It becomes also the extension of library activities to the urban space. Here also the new metro station takes place. Concept of the library – “house in house, city in the city” creates the group of three volumes situated under one roof. The houses of adults’ library, youth library and administration define two atriums in between. Here the life of the whole building meets together. Volume of mediatheque steps up the row and shows the new direction of our culture and media.

An Extension of Support for Archives in GVFS

The bachelor thesis deals with an extension of archive daemon in GVFS system. The extension was designed, implemented, and tested based on an analysis of current state of the daemon, LibArchive library options, and similar projects. The main benefit of the extension is an easy manipulation with files in an archive via GIO API, which is used by many applications running in GNU/Linux operating system. Files and folders included in an archive can be read, renamed, moved, copied or deleted, it can also create empty directories. Daemon also allows creating new archives of a desired format.

Multiple Type Office Documents Diff

This bachelor thesis deals with comparing different types of office documents. The aim of this thesis is to create a module into an existing application called mediadiff for comparing documents of the Open Office office suite, including text documents, presentations and spreadsheets. This thesis describes algorithms for comparing text and tree structures. Furthermore, there are described the best known office suites and Access to the content of their documents.

The place of the archive is connected to me with the mystery theme and the attractive inaccessibility. With the rise of digitization, man's access to the archive changes and so do his feelings about manipulating archival records. In the comfort of the digital world, the idea of prudence and secrecy is lost. By designing a new type of archive, I am trying to create a closed world of the researcher, separated from the surrounding city. There is no access reserved for the privileged group, but the spatial concept does the natural filtering of public visitors

The proposal deals with the architecture archive concept on a wider social scale. The goal is to treat the information as a certain relative value, when the individual spaces are conceived with emotional surprise. There is a controlled collision between old and new approaches where attractive spaces serve purely rational mechanical systems. A person going through the archive should perceive emotional experiences and, after leaving the archive, perceive information in a more complex way.

The content of this thesis are theoretical knowledge from section long-term archiving of digital documents, explanation of terms and view for applicable legislation. Next point will be analysis of current state of archiving digital data in public administration of The Czech republic. Based on theoretical knowledge will be proposal what is needed for secure long-term archiving digital data to be able to meet in terms of legislation, proving content and content protection within the public administration of The Czech republic.

Gallery aviation technology and traditions of aviation at the airport Medlánky in Brno

The main subject of the diploma project was to create architecture study for new building of a Gallery for sport aircrafts and their traditions and other equipment that cooperate with this topic. The Gallery is designed in Brno´s Medlanky municipality and it is incorporated on current local sport airport. This project was preceded by studio project on the same area, which included reconstruction and development of this airport area. In this diploma project I was trying to continue with this development and establish a design which would react to my earlier design. The site has a sloped character and it separated from a dense city area. Starting point for the design was to gently touch the landscape and also trying to find certain references directly in the closest surrounding. From the views to surrounding was created the idea to preserve the horizontal lines and with a landscape and constructions demands was created the main idea to continue with the landscape over the spatial structure. The need to cover large-scale exhibit items like aircrafts and other items from this topic led to a starting point of my design. The structure is formed as a spatial truss structure and dominates the exhibition space. Building is connected by program and structure to services and other areas like conference hall, coffee, study room, work room and administration. As a one building it teems mainly from arrival at the airport area when the roofing is an organic, monolithic surface disappearing in surrounding. But gallery itself emerges from the ground and opens towards the aircraft take off and departure area where it is also direction of a main view to the surrounding. The building is also unique for its entering, such as the main entrance through narrow staircase gap in the roof. This entrance should evoke to people an aircraft landing, where while descent plane dive in to the clouds and appear underneath above a whole new landscape. Creative centre - Koprivnice

Right in the city center, there is a plot with old factory halls. These halls are fascinating and have great potential. But now, they are more of an obstacle. They form a barrier, they are in poor condition, and it robs the city of its values. In my diploma thesis entitled Creative Center in Kopřivnice, in addition to the design of the creative center, I will also deal with how to use the beauty and potential of these old halls, further, how to create beautiful and modernized buildings with a new value. I want to open the whole area, to create a place where people would like to meet and where various functions will be mixed- a place for fun, relaxation, culture, education or even just a shopping or walk. The work is very diverse - from the urban design of the entire plot, through the revitalization of old industrial halls and the layout of a new building, to the interior design of a new gallery.
