Ceramik inventory from eastern and southern tract of Vízmburk

Vízmburk castle was from 13th to 15th century an important center in the upper reaches of the river Úpa and his research in the years 1972 - 1983, led by Antonín Hejna gained valuable findings fund. This fund has not been evaluated yet, only in part. These bachelor thesis will deal with the ceramic finds from eastern and southern wings of the castle Vízmburk. Its core becomes finding a catalog that critically build on the evaluation of ceramics Vízmburk. System of description distinguishes the basic technological and morphological categories and creates the basis for discussion of the castle supply ceramic and its utility equipment and board vessels. This issue will be included in the concept of medieval pottery in north-eastern Bohemia, especially in Trutnov and Náchod districts. Shale gas and conflict of (public) interests (Based on the example of Trutnovsko and Berounsko)

The goal of this thesis is to examine the term of public interest within the framework of the 'shale gas' issue in the Czech Republic. The theoretical section is divided into two basic parts. The first part defines the term public interest from the point of view of political science, sociology and economy. The second one describes the issue of shale gas extraction in global context. The examination is focused on the context of administrative procedures defining the prospecting exploration area of unconventional hydrocarbon resources in the Trutnov region and around the Berounka River The intention of private companies to extract shale gas in the Czech Republic caused a big discussion. In its core there is the dispute between the economic development of the country connected with energy security on one hand and the environment protection on the other. Within this debate the term public interest appears in many different contexts. The way it is used by the people involved and their interests are described through interviews with them and analysis of the gained material.

History of german newspaper issue in the region of Trutnov from middle of 19th century till 1938

The dissertation "History of newspaper publishing in Trutnov County between the second half of 19th century until 1938" is focused on the development of written journalism in Trutnov region since 1948 till the Munich Conference (29th - 30/9/1938). The thesis also reflects the period's wider theoretic and socio-historic context. Due to demographic characteristics of the region the dissertation also considers the issue of Czech-German coexistence and the changes in the mutual relationship among these nations in the border area. The dissertation also includes picture references taken from chosen newspapers. The reason for this is to give the reader a notion of the period regional newspapers.

Life, Work and Contribution of Dr. Stanislav Šidlák.

The following bachelor thesis deals with the person and work of the cantor, director of elementary school, choirmaster, composer, pianist, and conductor PaedDr. Stanislav Šidlák (1904-1987), whose life is inherently connected with regions Trutnov, Úpice, and Malé Svatoňovice. This personality has become an important cultural promoter in the region of Northeastern Bohemia, specifically Sudet. He developed cultural events in the aforementioned location. He founded and led many choirs (e.g. the Vítězslav Novák choir), as well as vocal chamber groups, one of which was the internationally successful Dívčí pěvecké trio. He also acted as a conductor of the Strážkovická hornická hudba (a group typical of that region). For his ensembles, he edited a number of folk songs for various musical groups. As a composer he is the author of suites, cantatas, several vocal works for men's and mixed choirs, and an operetta (popular during that time) on the motifs of Božena Němcová's Pantáta Hájek. He not only led his ensembles but also actively participated as a regular member (e.g. Pěvecký sbor českých učitelů). He was also a sought-after tenor. History of amateur theatre in Trutnov region

(in English): The bachelor work deals with the history of amateur societies in Trutnov region from their origin in 19th and the beginning of the 20th century till the year 1945. The main part describes four local theatre societies. Two of them are from the Czech part of the region and the other two from the part with the Czech minority. It also focuses on circumstances of their origin and it covers cultural, educational and charitable activities, which they performed. This part does not forget the description of the relation with other societies and associations. The part of the bachelor work is also a description of administration of the societies, their composition, running and the relation with political authorities. For better understanding is drawn up a general development of Czech amateur theatre with emphasis on its national- educational function in the period of the national revival. The brief history of Trutnov town gives an idea of national and cultural development of the region. Tables and supplements completes an activity and running of amateur societies.
