Abstract: The dissertation "History of newspaper publishing in Trutnov County between the second half of 19th century until 1938" is focused on the development of written journalism in Trutnov region since 1948 till the Munich Conference (29th - 30/9/1938). The thesis also reflects the period's wider theoretic and socio-historic context. Due to demographic characteristics of the region the dissertation also considers the issue of Czech-German coexistence and the changes in the mutual relationship among these nations in the border area. The dissertation also includes picture references taken from chosen newspapers. The reason for this is to give the reader a notion of the period regional newspapers.
