Coexistence of the Majority Society and Muslims in Teplice

This bachelor thesis entitled Coexistence of the majority society and Muslims in Teplice deals with issue of coexistence the citizens of Šanov district in Teplice. The largest Muslim community in Northern Bohemia is in Teplice and every year durring summer a high number of Muslims arrives in Teplice to spa. Muslims go primarily to the spa in the Šanov district and lived there for several months. Muslims concentrate mainly in park and spa situated in Šanov district. The citizens of Teplice reacted negatively to the growing number of Muslims and they complained of mess and noise. The first part of this thesis analyses theoretical concepts such as integration of immigrants and Muslims in the Czech Republic, new xenophobia, attitudes of the majority society to Muslims, the concept of the "us" and "them", contact hypothesis and describes the life of Muslims in Teplice. The second part of the thesis deals with the methodology of research and selection of the informants and, above all, with the analysis of the interviews. Using semi-structured qualitative interviews, this thesis explores attitudes of the majority society living in the Šanov district to Muslims and problems and positive of this coexistence. New synagogue Teplice

The project creates a representative environment for the Jewish community in Teplice. The history of the location is a main source of inspiration, since there used to be a majestic synagogue until 1939 when it was burned down. The design itself consists of four buildings above ground – a synagogue, an administration center of the Jewish community, museum and kosher restaurant, all of which are based on the same underground building with parking. Under the synagogue there is also mikveh - a ritual bath with sauna. The community center with lecture hall is located next to this base and is connected on the same level. Architecturally, the buildings are organized into a square shape on the common underground base depending on their function. Used façade materials are stone dark grey cladding. The synagogue differentiates both in shape and material. It’s exterior surface symbolises the history of the location and used fragments of the stone base of the lost synagogue. The synagogue itself is covered with golden ceramic glass surface cladding. The golden details also spread on the surrounding buildings in the form of decorative grating by the windows.

New synagogue Teplice

The subject of this diploma project was to design an architectural proposal of The New Synagogue and Jewish Community Centre in Teplice, Czech Republic. The main goal was to design a complex of buildings which would be used not only for the worships but also for cultural and educational purposes. The proposal consists of the design of 3 buildings connected to each other by a cen-tral courtyard. The form is based on the traditional values set into contemporary de-sign shaped by demands of current generations. One of the main design elements - the beam structure above the courtyard implies a symbol of The Star of David as the symbol of Judaism as we know today. The building of New Synagogue represents the first, three storey building on the north part of plot. The second, east part, is building consisting of cultural centre, info centre, museum, gallery and spaces for workshops with it's technical and sanitary facilities. A Kosher Restaurant will be located into the third and last two-storey building. An undeground parking will be used by the staff and visitors of the whole complex.

Teplice - town, where I live

The thesis thinks over the town of Teplice and the architecture education from different points of view. First the author explores her own relationship to the town where she comes from. Then she focuses on primary grade pupils and surveys thein pre-concept concerning the town of Teplice. She also surveys how teachers handle the topic of town in the Art Education. Conclusions of these surveys are used as a basis for creating worksheets which interconnect the educational contents of Art Education, history, architecture and urban design. The objektive of the worksheets is to encourage pupils to reflect the town they live in. Author also proposes Art lessonss which correspond to the topic of the worksheets and she tests them in selected classes. Musical life in the Spa Town Teplice

Tato bakalářská práce je zaměřena na hudební život lázeňských hostů v Teplicích. Přehledné zpracování historie počátku lázeňství v Podkrušnohoří až po současnost. Konkrétnější zaměření na nejvýznamnější hudební instituce a tělesa spojené s lázněmi v Teplicích. Poslední část je věnována významným osobnostem, které navštívily zmíněné lázně. K vytvoření práce byla použita literatura Bohumila Plevky, brožury Severočeské filharmonie Teplice a Konzervatoře Teplice, rozhovory s lidmi působícími v oblasti kultury v Teplicích a anonymní dotazníky s odpověďmi, které se týkaly hudebního života současných lázeňských hostů. Vyhodnocením dotazníků jsem došla k závěru, že lázeňští hosté vyhledávají mezi procedurami hudební akce, a tím pozvedají všeobecnou kulturnost populace, která jinak není v Teplicích příliš vysoká.

Czech-arabic relationships in Teplice. Case study.

The issues of Islam, integration of Muslims and multiculturalism are currently major topics in the European space. Within the framework of this debate, among the search for self-identity, occur various stereotypical and prejudiced behaviours against this different religious and ethnic group. The everyday contact between Czech and Muslim communities within the Czech Republic happens primarily in the north-bohemian town of Teplice. This spa town provides excellent spa treatment, which attracts guests from Arabian countries. This thesis inquiries about the nature of relations between the local citizens and the Muslim population, which either permanently lives here or is on a temporary visit. It attempts to provide possible solutions for disputes of such coexistence.

Present level of unemployement in region Teplice in relation to active labour market policy

The aim of this bachelor thesis is an analysis of unemployement developement in the region Teplice. In its theoretical part are determined basic key terms related to market structure -- mainly Labour market, Unemployment and Labour policy. This part also contains several notifications about differences between this market and the market of goods and services. The very next part deals with socioeconomic and demographic analysis of the region -- main focus is given to development of supply of the labour. Following chapter deals with development of the Labour market, mainly with the number of people unemployed and to the number of jobs available. The next part is focused to active employment policy realized by Labour office as a instrument in the struggle against the unemployment. In the very last part, there is summary and recommendations for the future unemployment policy. This recommendation is created in cooperation with the biggest companies in this area.

Cílem projektu je stanovit rizika expozice nízkým hladinám komplexních směsí látek přítomných ve znečištěném ovzduší, hodnocení dlouhodobých účinků znečištění v Praze a v Teplicích. Vyhodnotit následky kombinovaného působení biologicky aktivních látek ve vztahu ke genotypu a se zřetelem k životnímu stylu validovat biomarkery zátěže lidské populace polutanty z ovzduší. Odhadnout podíl hlavních zdrojů na této zátěži a vypracovat systém interpretace získávaných dat. Projekt bude metodicky navazovat na Program Teplice I a II a "Program znečištění ovzduší a zdraví". Pro zajištění cíle byly řešeny 3 projekty: Projekt 1 Hodnocení projevů genotoxicity ovzduší u environmentálně exponovaných osob, Projekt 2 Dopady znečištění ovzduší na výsledky těhotenství, Projekt 3 Studium mechanismů působení komplexních směsí organických látek z ovzduší v buněčných systémech in vitro.
