The theme of art and love in The Seagull
Horvátová, Nella Anežka ; Kučera, Miloš (advisor) ; Viktorová, Ida (referee)
The bachelor thesis is focused on mapping the main themes of the drama by A. P. Chekhov The Seagull. The aim is to describe the intertwining of the lines of love, art and the symbol of the seagull in relation to the characters. Furthermore, the thesis takes into account the setting of the play's motifs in a broader context. In each chapter it suggests the relationality between the characters as well as their functions in the play. Analysis, compilation and comparison are used in the treatment, and the findings will be demonstrated through practical examples and quotations from the play, which will form part of the theoretical part of the thesis. The thesis also includes conceptual maps that graphically illustrate the thematic relationships between characters and themes. The thesis is based on foreign and Czech publications related to the interdisciplinary interpretation of Chekhov's drama. One of the main terminologies used is psychologist Lee's concept of the theory of love. The text is written on the borderline of several disciplines and mixes mainly findings from psychology and drama theory. KEYWORDS The Seagull, Chekhov, psychology of art, drama theory, love, art
FUCK HARDER
Svoboda, Jakub ; JANOŠČÍK, Václav (advisor) ; Stejskalová, Tereza (referee)
The theme refers to contemporary world production of queer artists. The aim of this work is to illustrate, on the example of personal theory, a radical approach in the field of culture, to inform about new approaches in the field of art and to fluidly combine certain belongings. Content: theory, experience, interviews, artists, development, future Headline Chapters: Ghost in the 21st Century, Wickedness, Brand Queers, Great Army of People, New Base (Emancipation) Main artists: Jana Kratochvílová, Arca x Jessie Kanda, Anne Imhof, Tino Seghal, Bjork, Ryan Trecartin, Anohni Literature: Phillip Vannini - theory unrepresentative introduction: The theme of the thesis is based on personal experience. In 2016, I intuitively felt that artists working with thematic themes would start to harden in their approach and make the creation more radical. So I wrote in the bathroom on the mirror the statement FUCK HARDER IN 2K17. It turned out I was right, and indeed 2017 was a sign of radicalism in more directions - from visual art, video clips, music, pop culture to fashion photography. In my work I would like to concentrate on this subject and selected artist from all over the world. Understand your perception of this phenomenon over the current work of selected artists, and on the basis of this you can easily indicate the further development of these artists. The selection of artists will be key to the work and will be intuitive, complemented by interviews with artists. Intuition at work will be the next key to link everything you can imagine.
Food as a Source of Meanings in Conceptual Art
Guhová, Vendula ; POSPISZYL, Tomáš (advisor) ; Uhnák, Tomáš (referee)
“Food as a Source of Meanings in Conceptual Art: Artistic Attitudes of Alison Knowles and Rirkrit Tiravanija” is a case study that examines the spectre of meanings mediated by food in the 20th century art and context-dependent changes of those. The thesis describes and compares the meanings of cooking and eating in Alison Knowles's pieces Propostion: Make a Salad and The Identical Lunch and Rirkrit Tiravanija's pieces Untitled (Pad/Thai) and Untitled (Free/Still), with regard to their contemporary and artistic context (Fluxus and relational aesthetics). It explores when do these activities - using quotidian acts - become an art piece and what mythology do these two artists build around themselves. One of the important aspects examined is a motive of connectivity.
Baroque Architectural Space in the Conception of Czech Criticism in the 20th Century
Koryntová, Eliška ; Macek, Petr (advisor) ; Švácha, Rostislav (referee)
(in English) This thesis is a summary of opinions coming from 20th century Czech art historians which wrote about baroque architectural space. Based on reading texts from them I have chosen three cardinal themes characterizing the research of baroque architectural space: tendencies to emancipate architectural space, emphasis on the time based experience of architectural space and interest in luminary qualities of architectural space. In the chapter about time based experience of architectural space I am dealing with the illusion of movement that creates baroque architectural space, with the parallel between baroque architecture and baroque musical compositions and with the principles of designing the so called "moving space" by using illusionary splines. I find a tendency to describe baroque architectural space in a poetical way by Czech art historians due to the process of perceiving architecture happening through the interaction of the human body arrangement. I am focused on philosophy of Martin Heidegger and Hans Georg Gadamer where the support of metaphoric description of baroque architectural space can be found. In the final part of this thesis I write about the symbolic qualities of sacral baroque architectural space. I consider the spatial relationship "above" and "down" as an interpretation...

The structure of a work of art and music
Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Introduction to bio art
Šperanda, Nina ; SILVERIO, Robert (advisor) ; JANOŠČÍK, Václav (referee)
Bio art is a contemporary art practice that works with living organisms (except humans) or is created in cooperation with living organisms. It is relatively new art movement that is rooted deeply inside the history of evolution, domestication of animals and plants, technological discoveries, their development and science. Never before was art questioning its ethics and aesthetics in such profound, molecular and sub-molecular way. In this work I will consider the historical influences and conditions that led to current developments in the field. I will also try to explain the problematics of defining what bio art is and try to clarify the associated terminology. Most relevant and ground breaking works in the field will be mentioned as some new recent developments. Aesthetics of bio art is also an important subject often set aside by the ado around ethics of it. It is an extremely important subject to be considered when talking about bio art and I will try to sketch out a brief outline of it with references to philosophy and contemporary bio art theory.

Zeya, Pyin Nyar ; JANEČEK, Vít (advisor) ; VOJTĚCHOVSKÝ, Miloš (referee)
No one can control a painter artist’s freely thoughts and ideas and although his paintings were under the high pressure and banned by force, the artistic value of his materials never go down. So that I am writing this paper. He, San Minn has broken out the mainstream of Burmese painting field, he never made business paintings as well. He keeps his belief on the art of paints and he is always finding for the new way to make his paintings. His materials are very different from other Burmese painter artists’ materials. His style is unique in Burmese paintings. So I can get a chance to study of his style, ideas, ways of thinking and his determination on the art works. My paper can show a painter artist’s life who grew up under the military rule for 50 years and the situation and history of Burmese painting field. Then not only people who are studying the painting subject, but also other people can know about the subject of Burmese painting and field of artists. I dare say that my paper must be colorful and fruitful. As a painter artist, it seems that he wants his audience to feel his materials but he rare to show his real life behind the pictures. For me, I can get a chance to know about his real life for my thesis paper. xxxxxxxxxx Thesis Statement My thesis can be useful for everybody who is interested in Burmese contemporary art field. This is the biggest chance to read about one of the most famous, important and significant artists and art movements of Burma. His paintings are reflecting his journey through over 40 years of censorship, but he was not afraid to tackle political and social issues. Many of San Minn's art works are based on autobiographical, making sharp social commentary on the popular culture, social values and scenario circumstances where he has lived in. xxxxxxxxxx
