What the music in Czech television commercials consist of

The study "What does music in Czech television commercials consist of?" deals with music used in television commercials. In particular, what the music consists of, how its selected elements work and how they are applied in commercials. The work is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part introduces the subject area - advertising, television advertising, music and music in advertising and their individual selected elements, followed by the research part. In the research part, the chosen research methodology is first introduced and justified and then the data resulting from the quantitative analysis of selected elements of music in 100 television commercials are presented. It is answered what the general characteristics of music are, what instruments are included in it, what sets of tones it consists of and how the selected elements apply to the advertisement and to themselves. The general properties are understood as how many ads the music is contained in, its length relative to the total length of the ads, its level of activation - here the unifying properties of tempo, dynamics and rhythm, and some other properties. Semiotic analysis of animated ads

The presented thesis will examine tools of animated commercials on the basis of semiotic analysis of TV advertising. The animation is usually connected whit children's or family movies, however it is also extensively used in commercials, which are designed to affect adult audiences. The goal of the thesis was to find, how animated commercial attracts customers and how it differs from played ad. Therefore the underlying hypothesis is that animation is not just for children, but it may just as well successfully work in production for adults. The thesis is also based on the assumption that animated advertising uses other tools to capture the viewer than advertising played. The theoretical part is focused on presenting animation, its development, specifics and methods of analysis. Also it is focused on semiotic and practical side of advertisement and visual sings of image. In the practical part I will compare selected animated and played ads. My effort will be to describe tools of animation in commercials and to discover how they differ from played ads. The influence of television commercial on the value system of a children from primary school

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of the influence of commercial advertisement on the value system of children of younger school age in the Czech environment and in the context of society nowadays that is being significantly modified by the influence of infosphere and cyberculture. This impact relates both to an excessive TV watching and the use of other digital video equipment. This very frequently consists of the commercial advertisements which appear on TV as well. Watching TV strongly contributes to passive and consumerist lifestyle. Therefore, the role of parents is crucial because they can help children to do some activities and make them think critically about their real needs. Additionally, pedagogical action via media education, which has been still neglected, is essential. The aim of this thesis is to verify whether, and to what extent, children adopt this system of values presented by commercial advertising, as human value system is vital for one's development.
The Right Guy World: The Analysis of Television Beer Commercial Discourse

This paper's aim is to critically describe and use Michel Foucault's method archaeology for discursive description of contemporary television beer advertisements broadcasted in the Czech Republic. Theoretical part tries to define terms as denounce, discursive formation and discourse and propose their possible usage in practical research. The paper supposes that television beer advertisements are governed by the same discourse which was used in other beer advertisement and all advertisements form a coherent whole. Analytical part's aim is to describe this coherent whole from the aim of discourse and specific chose of denounces that form picture of beer and its role in a men world. The image of housework in television advertising through gender perspective

Stereotyping of male and female roles is currently the subject of many discussions in various spheres of society. Stereotypes are widely used in the advertising industry, where they aim to make it easier for potential customers to identify with the product and support the company's image. Choosing the right gender for a particular advertisement depends on the nature of the product as well as on the target group. Some product groups are more gender- differentiated than others. An exemplary group are household cleaning products. Related advertisements traditionally show female characters more often than male characters. However, the time when cleaning products were promoted exclusively by women is over and nowadays, men appear in these kinds of advertisements too. The growing number of characters who are portrayed in non-stereotyped gender roles in television commercials began to be discussed more prominently as early as the end of the 20th century. From a sociological point of view, the gender role is a set of socially defined behavioral norms, reflecting what society usually expects from a man or a woman. The subject of this thesis is to find out on the basis of comparative research what is the perception and evaluation of TV commercials for shower gels of cosmetic companies Dermacol, Radox, Dove and Nivea. The theoretical part covers mainly the issues of advertising, advertising psychology and marketing. The thesis also focuses on identifying the relationship and attitudes of customers towards the advertisement of shower gels. The overview of secondary data focused on cosmetic products and advertising is presented together with evaluation and interpretation of primary data obtained from electronic polling and personal interviews. At the end of the thesis, marketing recommendations and marketing campaign proposal for Dermacol Cosmetics Company are assigned.
The infuence of commercial ads on childhood obesity

Childhood obesity is one of the most serious public health challenges of the 21st century. It is a global problem is increasing at an alarming rate and is still affecting many low and middle- income countries. In 2016, over 41 million under the age of five were overweight. The theoretical part in the first chapter deals with the development of eating, and also cognitive and emotional development. The thesis deals with the principle of advertising, subliminal manipulation, types of advertising, ethics and laws restricting advertising especially for children - in the second chapter. The last chapter observes the etiopathogenesis of childhood obesity, the risks of childhood obesity as well as its treatment and prevention. The form of the practical part is a standardized structured interview. The sample of respondents are children from Prague and its surroundings at the age of 8-12 years. This sample was gathered mostly from primary school in Chodovec but also via social network in the form of an advertisement. As children from the age of seven are able to critically assess advertising, it was interesting to see their reactions and responses in this research. The thesis is dedicated to the situation in contemporary advertising and its relation to film. It reflects creative crisis in advertising industry caused by discovering new digital technologies and change of spectators behaviour. The thesis presents advertising producer and director who are very important persons in nowadays advertising world becuase they understand how to create an entretaining film. In the end, the thesis offers couple of theories on future of advertising.
Analysis of mass media communication of selected manufacturers of cola-based drinks on Czech TV market

This master's thesis is focused on the analysis of mass media communication of three manufacturers of cola-based drinks, which are Kofola, Coca-Cola and Pepsi. Its aim is to provide a comprehensive overview of mass media communication, to map the progress of marketing campaigns on television and to compare activities of key players in the category of cola-based drinks on Czech television market at the period 2010-2015. The thesis contains theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part contains of literary research and there are also described main areas associated with this thesis such as advertising or mass media planning and there is also summarized the situation on television market and market of soft drinks. The second part of this thesis is devoted to analysis of mass media communication of selected manufacturers of cola-based drinks in the Czech Republic. At the beginning of the practical part there are described all used methods, based on data mining of the set of advertising investments which are available from the company Nielsen Admosphere, a. s.
