Creation of an adaptation course programme for the Medical Lyceum

Title: Creation of an adaptation course programme for the Medical Lyceum Aims: The aim of our work is to prepare an adaptation course program based on the literature search of the theoretical part and practical experience of instructors according to the specifics of the class. To get feedback from students on this program and evaluate its success. Methods: Based on the theoretical findings of the research we developed a programme of an adaptation course. The results of the course work and we evaluated the results by means of a questionnaire filled in by the students of the health lyceum (participants of the course). Results: The result is an adaptation course program that uses the knowledge gained and programs from the instructors' practice. The work can be used as a guide on how to create an adaptation course for the adolescent age group. We received mostly positive feedback on the program from student evaluations. Conclusions: According to the theoretical part, we prepared and subsequently implemented the adaptation course. Based on the evaluation of the sub-objectives regarding the pupils' CP on the programmes, we fulfilled them and concluded that we would modify or change two programmes of the implemented course completely. The impact of school bullying on a child's school performance

The aim of the bachelor thesis was to analyse the impact of bullying on school achievement. The thesis is designed as a theoretical-practical one. The theoretical part describes the issue of bullying, the topic of school success and the impact of bullying on school success. The practical part describes the research conducted to find out what impact personal experience of bullying had on the school success of victims of bullying. A sub-objective was to formulate recommendations for victims of bullying regarding prevention and management of school failure associated with the experience of bullying. The research sample consisted of five female students aged 17-25 years who experienced bullying in elementary school. Interviews were conducted with these communication partners. The results are presented in the form of case studies. Contacts to professionals who deal with the topic were provided as part of the proposed recommendations. The importance of confiding in the bully or at least finding a functional way to survive bullying in the role of a victim was pointed out.

This diploma thesis is focused on the issue of specific behavior disorders. The author defines the term of behavior disorder in a theoretical part, she classifies particular behavior disorders and she decribes them in depth in the way they are described by The International Classification of Diseases. The author also tries to cover possible causes and factors which participate in the formation or developement of behavior disorders. The conclusion of the thesis is dedicated to the specific of education of children with behavior disorders and developement of socialization of these individuals. The practical part is based on the casuistry of the chosen pupil and his structural observation. This part tries to describe chosen aspects based on a long-term observation which a specific disorder could influence on, e.g. an influence on a class, a perception of the teacher's authority, observation the rules or paying attention. The practical part is realized by the long-term observation, by the analysis of available documents relating to a diagnosis of the pupil. Pieces of information are received also by interviews with the teachers of the pupil and with the educator of the assistant. Social status of the integrated student with Asperger syndrome in the class

The goal of this diploma thesis is to map the issue of social integration of students with Asperger syndrome into a regular class of elementary school. The theoretical part is based on analysis of publications related to the topic. It deals with the description of the Asperger syndrome diagnosis and its symptoms, the concept of integration, mainly the integration of a student with Asperger syndrome, and the issue of classroom climate and the possibilities of its diagnostics and development. The practical part is based on the theoretical part. In it, the author focuses on the analysis of social status of integrated students with Asperger syndrome. Sociometrical techniques are combined with projective method and both are supplemented with a questionnaire for teachers and qualitative methods, primarily interviews with teachers and observation in class. The thesis deals with the influence of class teacher's participation on the adaptation course to the teacher's knowledge of the pupils' collective. In the theoretical part, attention is paid to the concepts of experiential education and adaptation courses. Furthermore, it describes various types of adaptation course methodologies and suggests possibilities of class teacher's participation during the course. The research part describes a qualitative study with respondents who, as a class teacher, have undergone an adaptation course with their new class. The results of the research describe how class teachers perceive the adaptation course as a tool for their knowledge of pupils depending on their participation in the adaptation course.
