Population density and its relation to selected demographic and social indicators

The topic of this thesis is the analysis of the relationship between population density and demographic behavior, which is expressed in this work by values of selected socio- - demographic indicators - total fertility, life expectancy, age index, standardized mortality and urbanization rates in selected European countries. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part defines trends in the development of population concentration and values of selected socio-demographic indicators in European countries. The second part of the thesis identifies the dependence of values of selected indicators on the population concentration and differences between the urban and the rural environment. The context is examined by the cluster, the correlation and the regression analysis. The results are also presented using cartograms. Analyses has shown that population density is likely to have an impact on selected demographic and social indicators at the European level. In the European cohesion regions (NUTS 2), the correlation between population density and other socio-demographic indicators was no longer apparent. The purpose of this study is to analyse the demographics of the city of Hradec Kralove in the period between 2005 up to 2014. Using the time series data the future levels of population in their given age groups have been extrapolated up to 2019. The work mainly focuses on two age groups (0-14 years and 65+ years) and on the problem of population ageing which is correlated with these two age groups. In conclusion, the capacities of the primary school network and the elderly care facilities were comparatively evaluated based on the results of the demographic analysis

Diploma theses called Demographic trends of South Moravian rural regions describes a demographic situation in South Moravian region focused on rural regions. Firstly is processed literature review of demographic development and defined rural areas. Then is described historical development of moravian rural areas from 1869 to 2014. We choose methodics according to OECD by which we can indentify South Moravian rural regions. Demarcated regions are displayed using a map. Next part describes the demographic situation in South Moravian rural regions in detail focusing on ageing of population. We set the hypotheses which assumed increase of pensioners and reduction of children. This hypotheses were confirmed. Most of the demographic analysis are affected by existence of the city of Brno in the South Moravian region. In conclusion significant effects are summarized and completed by predictions of future development which is focused of children and pensioners social services sufficiency.
Analysis of social services for seniors in the Czech Republic during the years 2007 - 2015

This thesis focuses on the theme of social services for the elderly and its development since 2007 to 2015. The goal is to describe the development of social services in the Czech Republic, in the regions of the Czech Republic and comparison between them. The Bachelor thesis also has the goal of informing about the current situation and future predictions. The theoretical part deals with the definition of social inclusion services within social policy. An integral part is the description of the basic forms of social services, social service providers and legislative and financial framework for social services in the Czech Republic. The method used in this part is the literature research focused on characteristics of social policies, particularly on social services. The empirical part follows information from theoretical part. The research is focused on the Czech Republic as a whole and then goes into exploring the specifics of individual regions and their comparison. Here, the methods used are: analysis of the existing system of social services and regional comparison. The data sources are mainly from Czech Statistical Office and Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. The result of my investigation is the confirmation of the need for social services in the lives of seniors. The goal of this thesis is to highlight the current systemic shortcomings of providing and funding of social services, mainly because of increased number of seniors in Czech Republic.
Case-study of seniors’ lifestyle in relationships to healthy food

The aim of the presented case-study is a detection of the influence of seniors' lifestyle to healthy food. Qualitative approach to this topic should detect some selected aspects of seniors' lifestyle -- imaginations concern healthy food, real food shopping, and their real physical activities. Empirical pilot research was focused at sample of urban population, age 65+, living in Prague. Next aim of the master's thesis lies in economical consequences of seniors' lifestyle in relationships to healthy food and its potential changes. The thesis use methods like critical comparative approach to secondary data, qualitative approach in pilot sociological research, semi-structured interview, analyses and synthesis. The results are discussed in a framework of some sociological, demographical and marketing studies. The master's theses show seniors also like a challenging segment of populations in terms of great occasion for economic subjects and their business. General approach of the thesis is based on the contemporary concept of the relationships between active lifestyle and healthy food.
The lifestyle and consumer behavior of the 55+ generation

The thesis deals with the apprehension of homogeneity and heterogeneity of the senior consumer market and their impact on marketing. The thesis is mapping specification and characterization of the lifestyle and consumer behavior of the 55+ generation in the Czech Republic. It aims to determine the marketing potential of the target group. Typical views of elderly people in terms of the society and companies are based on analysis of MML-TGI data, secondary data research and own primary data using both qualitative and quantitative market research methodologies. Primary data are acquired by the face-to-face and on-line questioning, and carrying out through individual depth interviews. The marketing approach for seniors is recommended on the base of findings and conclusions resulting from both -- the methodological and analytical part of the thesis.
The European Market Segmentation with Respect to the Post-Productive Population

The first step of the hierarchical approach to the international market segmentation is described and demonstrated in this master's thesis. The theoretical part that covers the methodology, statistical background and secondary data sources is followed by the illustration of cluster analysis. The outcome is the division of thirty European countries into five segments with respect to the post-productive population. The formed segments are then characterised and interpreted. Their usability is shown in three challenges in the European Year of 2012, which is dedicated to Active Ageing.
Life insurance and its role in dealing with people's financial security in old age

The main topic of this bachelor thesis is the role of life insurance in dealing with people's financial security in old age. The first part of the thesis applies to demographics and aging of population. The following section describes the state pension system, its pillars, weaknesses and possible solutions. The second part concerns life insurance itself. It focuses on the definition of the life insurance, its advantages and categorizations. Chapters of three types of the life insurance follow -- namely the pensionary life insurance, the investment life insurance and the capital life insurance. I will outline suitable reinsures and dissimilarities to another types of products offered in financial and capital markets. At the end I will characterize trends and the future of the life insurance in the Czech Republic.
