Residental care home Maxov - specifics of residential care for clients with Prader-Willy syndrome

This thesis addresses the issue of clients with Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS), for whom Domov Maxov has established a residential service. It is currently the only such service in the Czech Republic. The primary objective of this thesis was to investigate the methods employed in working with clients with Prader-Willi syndrome at Domov Maxov and to identify its specifics. The thesis is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. The field of social work with clients with Prader-Willi syndrome is a new topic in the Czech Republic. Therefore, the theoretical part provides general information about Prader-Willi syndrome. It also focuses on the regimen measures necessary for the safety and healthy development of clients with PWS, along with the ways of working with these clients. The practical part consists of qualitative research. The research was conducted in the form of structured interviews with five staff members of Domov Maxov. The results reveal that working with clients with Prader-Willi syndrome is highly complex. It involves six key components. These include adherence to the daily routine, the number of client activities, ensuring food security, addressing problematic client behaviour, and managing client interpersonal problems and client motivation. Clients of Residential Youth Care at Risk of Dropout from Upper Secondary Education

Early school leaving represents a serious problem in the European and recently also in the Czech context. The aim of this thesis is to research the dropout risks at clients of the Youth Diagnostic Facility using qualitative methods. The subject of the research is a group of six boys aged 15- 17 years. The goal of the research is to map the causes of educational issues through case studies and identify the reasons for dropout among the facility's clients; to explore the approach of schools and their staff to the education of these individuals; to describe the education conditions provided by the diagnostic facility; and to find out how the clients themselves see their education process and whether their attitude and approach to education changed during their stay at the facility. The results show that in some cases placement in a diagnostic or educational facility can increase, by providing suitable conditions, the chances of obtaining secondary education. Possible influence of space on the quality of client's life in residential services for seniors

This thesis deals with the influence of environment on quality of life of seniors living in residential care for elderly. The main source for it was professional Czech and foreign literature and other related updates. The introductory chapter presents definitions of important characteristics of old age and aging, science aimed at this group, supplements and concepts aimed at elderly citizens in the Czech Republic and abroad. The second chapter takes the task of meeting with theories of quality of life, in the context of meeting the needs of the individual. The third section summarizes the definitions of space and its importance in human life. The following factors and that the space in which people live influence. The fourth chapter deals with residential services and their quality. Also deals with the Social Services Quality Standards and Quality Mark project, which focuses on residential care. Research section is intended to evaluate the impact of environment for seniors in their quality of life. Tracks selected areas of significance for the respondents and also satisfaction with their fulfillment. Final summary of research on the basis of the findings suggests points that should be respected in residential care for the elderly.
The Adaptation Process of The Seniors in Residential Care

1 ABSTRACT The Master's work deals with the adaptaion proces of elders, taking social work services with accommodation. The theoreticaly introduces the topic of social services, demografy and actual documents. Following investigation shows that the residential services are not prefered by seniors; it's using is connected with negative feelings, at least at the beginning. The key role plays a family an social relationships that can widely help to bear the situation. In particular, we recomend the chase of conception of social services, introduce unified systém of data processing and support of social service.
The role of volunteers in non-profit organizations providing social service for seniors from the point of view of social actors

This thesis deals with the role of volunteering in social services for the elderly in non-profit organizations. The aim of the work is to find out what benefits volunteers can provide for clients. I have focused on non-profit organizations for which volunteering is typical. I acquired data through in-depth interviews with clients and volunteers selected non-profit organization providing residential care for the elderly. Through this research I have offered a look at the benefits of volunteering through the requirements of current social services. Psychosocial issues of nourishment of the elderly

V ANGLICKÉM JAZYCE The diploma thesis deals with psychosocial problems of seniors' alimentation. The theoretical part focuses on the area of health, healthy lifestyle of elderly people, and also on the diseases and physical problems typical for old age. The geriatric syndromes, which occur in old age, as well as psychosocial aspects of the nutrition of seniors, are described there. The fourth chapter presents up-to-date documents that are closely related to alimentation. The nutrition of seniors is a crucial chapter of the whole thesis, because it describes how the alimentation of seniors is carried out in the home environment and how in residential care. The aim of the last chapter in the theoretical part is to present to the reader the "Domov ANNA", where the research survey (which is a part of the thesis) was realized at the beginning of the year 2019. The survey was carried out using a questionnaire method among clients of the above-mentioned "Domov ANNA" and also seniors living at home in Český Brod. The aim of the research was to find out if the elderly in residential care have better (more varied and balanced) diet in comparison with the elderly who live and eat at home and how psychosocial and economic factors influence the quality of their nutrition.
