My thesis deals with the current economic situation in Portugal. It describes the process of the economic crisis in Portugal with regard to the specifics of the Portuguese economy. The aim of thesis is to analyze the crisis and the impact on trade relations with the Czech Republic.
The Portuguese Crisis - Substance and Consequences

This work examines the impact of the Global Economic Crisis and European Debt Crisis on the Portuguese economy. The goal of the work is to present a coherent analysis regarding the economic development of the Portuguese economy as well as to demonstrate the consequences of two substantial crises, namely the Global Economic Crisis and European Debt Crisis which influenced the Portuguese economy. This work is divided into three parts; the first part deals with the two crises per se and contains their origins and causes. The second part is devoted to the historical development of the Portuguese economy from the beginning of the 20th century. It also covers the evaluation of the economic situation by means of the economic structure and situation before and after joining the European Union and Eurozone. The third and last part of this work is focused on the period succeeding the entry into the Eurozone and on particular years during the crisis. Attention is also drawn towards financial support and projections for the years 2013 and 2014.
Commercial and economic relations between Portugal and Brazil

This bachelor thesis focuses on commercial and economic relations between Portugal and Brazil. The thesis is divided into three chapters. Firstly, it evaluates their position in the world economy as well as in the international trade. Second chapter is devoted to the history of cooperation between EC/EU and Latin America, with the emphasis on the ongoing FTA negotiations EU-Mercosur. Lastly, this thesis analyses the trade between Portugal and Brazil (since its independence), especially in the period between 2007 and 2011.
Sustainable development of tourism in Portugal

The thesis deals with the concept of sustainable tourism development and its application in Portugal. The first chapter explains the sustainability of tourism, introduces the chosen forms of sustainable tourism and the indicators of sustainable development. The second chapter provides the general characteristic of Portugal as a tourist destination and describes the incoming, outgoing and domestic tourism. The third part is focused on sustainable development of tourism and its form in Portugal. The final chapter analyses the chosen indicators of sustainable development of tourism. The goal of the thesis is to depict the current state of sustainable tourism in Portugal.
Česká centrála cestovního ruchu - CzechTourism and its activities in Spain and Portugal

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to deal with the organization Czech central office of tourism - CzechTourism and its activities, which this organization produces at its foreign representation in Spain and Portugal. At first the central office is represented in general, explaining, how it was established in these countries and which statute belongs to this organization. Alongside, this work mentions the structure of the organization, its mission, main goals and management. Also specifies the subjects, which corporate with the central office on the national and international level. In the following part is marginally mentioned, how Czech central office of tourism works in whole and what uses for the support of incoming tourism of Czech Republic. The next part is dedicated to foreign representation in Spain and Portugal and specific activities, which the foreign representation uses for promoting Czech Republic, as an attractive destination for travelling in these countries. Finally, I will evaluate the importance of the activities and also possible contribution for mutual relations in the field of tourism.
Portugal since joining the eu to the present

The thesis in three chapters shows the development of Portugal in the context of the European Union. It describes the period before accession to the European Communities in the 70s and 80s when the long dictatorship fell and the period of transition to democracy followed during the political and economical instability. Another part of the thesis deals with the process of Portugal's accession to the European Communities, followed by a period of real convergence in the late 80s and early 90s, Portugal's entry into the ERM and the adoption of the common currency. The last chapter discusses the development of the Portuguese economy during participation in the eurozone and the current problems of Portugal in the context of the ongoing economic and financial crisis.

Comparison of the tax bases of income tax from dependent activity selected countries

The aim of this thesis is to describe and compare the principles and rules of the tax base of income tax from dependent activity in Portugal, Norway and Switzerland. A partial goal is to describe and compare bases for the calculation of social insurance in the above mentioned countries and also to examine the level of tax burden between the states. First, in the thesis is a description of the general income tax, structural elements of taxes and the possibility of an integration of income tax and social insurance. There is also description of types of incomes is subject to income tax from employment and social insurance in the mentioned countries. The last part of the thesis includes a comparison of the income tax base from dependent activity and calculation of the tax burden, respectively possible tax savings in the application of basic tax deductions, expenses incurred in connection with obtaining this type of income, or even tax credits. In connection with these calculations it was found that the lowest tax burden is in Portugal, due to possibilities of various tax deductions and tax credits to which international statistics do not count. Conversely, the highest tax burden is faced by Norwegian taxpayers.

Stability of the euro area in the context of the impact of economic crisis

The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the stability of the euro area in the context of the impact of the economic crisis. The work is divided into three chapters. The theory of optimum currency area was identified as a fundamental theoretical basis for subsequent analysis, and then Ireland and Portugal were chosen as the two countries representing vulnerable economies, which have been subjected to more detailed examination and comparison. These two parts were for the coherence of the whole work set in the historical context of European monetary integration. The first part deals with a theory of optimal currency area. The first chapter is further analysis of potential benefits and costs of the monetary area. The second chapter focuses on the historical context of monetary integration in Europe and recent developments in euro area countries. The theme of the third chapter is to compare the impact of the crisis on the Irish and the Portuguese economy. This chapter focuses on the main causes of the crisis in Ireland and then in Portugal, the impact of the crisis on them and stability restoring program adopted in the context of drawing loans from the European Commission, ECB and IMF. In the last part of the third chapter the causes and effects of the crisis in Ireland and Portugal were mutually compared. The conclusion of this chapter is devoted to the prospects of these countries into the future.
