Czech podcasting of a Public Service Media As a Recent Phenomenon

Podcasting - a phenomenon known only in America a few years ago, has reached even the Czech Republic nowadays. This bachelor thesis focuses on the phenomenon of podcasting of both Czech Television and Czech Radio, which are known as public service media. It consists of a practical and a theoretical part. The theoretical part puts the topic into context, from the definition of basic concepts to the process of creating the practical part of this bachelor thesis. The practical part in the form of a radio podcast introduces the podcast production of the mentioned public service media, their development, the current situation and what the future is like for this phenomenon. The radio podcast is supplemented with parts of interviews with respondents as well as with short excerpts from the podcasts mentioned. The script of the practical part of this bachelor thesis, as well as transcripts of interviews with respondents, are included in the appendix.
Podcasting - audio content in the digital era and its listeners in Czechia

The master thesis entitled "Podcasting - audio content in the digital era and its listeners in Czechia" is devoted to the phenomenon of podcasting which connects the traditional audio format with new digital technologies. It deals with its history and current state both abroad and in Czechia. It also describes the specifics of podcasting, compares it with radio programs, mentions the importance of podcast applications or the funding issue of independent podcasts. It focuses attention on the role of the audience in today's world and the associated concepts of participatory culture and user generated content. The audience is also associated with the uses and gratifications theory which tries to understand why people consume media content. The aim of the research part of the thesis was to obtain information about Czech podcast listeners with whom semi-structured interviews were conducted. The collected data were then processed using the grounded theory method. The findings are organized into five chapters in order to answer five research questions. They revealed the motivations of Czech listeners for listening to podcasts, their perception of podcasts in comparison with radio programs, their attitude to listening to Czech and foreign podcasts, their perception of podcast presenter and their attitude...
The Phenomenon of Podcasting and its use in marketing communication in the Czech Republic

This bachelor thesis focuses on the use of Czech podcasts for marketing communication. Firstly, it introduces the phenomenon of podcasting and its evolution both in the world and in the Czech Republic. It also describes different characteristics of podcasting that can mean certain benefits or disadvantages for instance when incorporating commercial communication. Incorporating commercial communication is also the main focus of the following part of the thesis where podcast monetization is discussed. The main topic of the research is the amount of commercial partnerships or the podcaster's own product promotions in Czech podcasts, as well as the way they are carried out. For further context, the thesis also presents other ways of monetization used by Czech podcasters. The research was conducted with the use of content analysis of selected podcasts.
Podcasts production and consumption in the Czech Republic with a focus on marketing and business

This diploma thesis is devoted to the phenomenon of podcasting and its definition within the new media. It introduces the term in the context of its history and its current situation on foreign markets, ie the cradle of its origin. It also defines it in detail in terms of its characteristic features, form, content, and in terms of its consumption and creation. It also defines it in the context of other media types such as radio, online video and audiobooks. Attention is also paid to the possibilities of its monetization. The phenomenon is anchored in the context of new media concepts such as produsage, participatory culture and long-tail. Last, but not least, several chapters are devoted to the development of the medium and its current state in the Czech Republic. A significant part of the thesis offers and insight into the patterns of media usage by Czech listeners, as well as an insight into the current podcasting scene through the eyes of podcast creators with a focus on marketing and business. Based on quantitative survey among the listeners, the characteristics of media usage, its socio-cultural aspects, motivations to listen, opinions on the diversity of Czech offerings and the perception of advertising in podcasts were further explored. Mobile App for Receiving Podcasts and Audeliver.com

The aim of this thesis is to implement a mobile application for receiving podcasts from Audeliver service. It is using modern graphic design for user interface based on Material Design. The application provides automatic synchronization of podcasts and downloading of newest episodes. All information about all episodes are  saved into the Realm database. Individual chapters explain theoretical information about podcasts and developing of applications for Android platform. The other chapters describe design, testing, and implementation of the MyPodcasts application.
Specifics of electronic learning supports in the system of controlled self-study

This dissertation thesis deals with the exploration of the issue of electronic learning supports intended to boost controlled self-study within university environment. This paper proceeds from the presumption that electronic learning supports are a suitable tool with a didactic potential in education which will make university self-study more effective and which will help students to meet the demanded requirements even more effectively than with commonly used learning materials. The paper deals with the definition of conceptual constructs from the field of electronic learning supports and also with the analysis of their didactic capabilities, limits and ways of usage with added specification of functional and didactic aspects of audio-visual learning supports. The empiric part of the paper uses a pedagogic experiment to verify the influence of the electronic learning supports on the university student's results within the controlled self-study. The paper complexly develops the theory of electronic learning supports from the point of view of current didactic resource and its inclusion into current structures of pedagogy and didactics.
Podcasting as a new part of the marketing communication mix in the Czech Republic and Germany

This thesis deals with the phenomenon of "podcasting" and the possibility of its business use. It covers and combines some selected aspects such as communica-tion trends, psychological aspects, and the marketing communication mix. There development of podcasting its current state is also considered. The general data come from the United States, while the dataset for the practical part has been tak-en from a public survey in the Czech Republic and Germany and a business survey of 315 Czech companies. The outcome answers whether podcasting is applicable as a new method for business communication, especially in the Czech Republic, and which segments of the Czech and German population are more suitable for this medium. Companies were tested on their current needs, challenges, communica-tion approaches and internal capacities towards podcasting integration. Finally some proposals on future challenges and developments are provided.
