Love in Kierkegaard
Puchmertlová, Natálie ; Marek, Jakub (advisor) ; Novák, Aleš (referee)
This thesis aims to analyze Kierkegaard`s understanding of the Christian concept of love, which he considers to be a cornerstone of relating to the Other, to the Self and to God. It should show the uniqueness and urgency of this concept. The primary source used as reference is Kierkegaard`s Works of Love. In the first part of this thesis a distinction between preferential romantic love and Christian unconditional love is made, where their individual moments are analyzed. First the role of self-love is scrutinized and categorized into the forms it may manifest as. Further love of neighbor is presented as a duty; then the subject and the object of matter are defined. The second half of this thesis focuses on specific acts of Christian love and finally on problematic possibility and neediness of the coexistence of both Christian and preferential love. Key words preferential love, neighborly love, love as a duty, selflove, neighbor

Kierkegaard and Ecclesiastes: The Relationship between Knowledge and Grief
Janoušková, Anna ; Marek, Jakub (advisor) ; Kružík, Josef (referee)
The presented philosophical-anthropological interpretation seeks to examine the phenomenon of "the image of humanity" (the becoming of Self) and consequently to study the human condition defined as "man longing for knowledge", all from a Christian perspective. After a thorough overview of the development of the Skeptical tradition in the history of philosophy, the two subjects of study will be interpreted, phenomenologically and exegetically, based on various texts from the Danish existencialist Søren Kierkegaard and the Old Testament book Ecclesiastes. The following comparison will enable us to see the parallel between knowledge and doubt in both of the authors' works. We shall come to a conclusion that there is an exponential relationship between knowledge and doubt: the more knowledge there is, the more doubt arises. During this interpretation, the aim will also be to trace the origin of doubt, while using the story of creation from the book of Genesis as the foundation for our study. Doubt, as we shall notice, entered the world accompanied by sin (in the form of consciousness) after Adam and Eve ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. This moment was crucial, for man committed a qualitative leap from innocence to the state of sin. Therefore, man is situated in between two extremes...
The aesthetic stage of life in the concept of Søren Kierkegaard
Kalusová, Martina ; Ševčík, Miloš (advisor) ; Jarošová, Helena (referee)
I will deal with Kierkegaard's aesthetic concepts in my thesis. I introduce the basic concepts of Kierkegaard's philosophy and I focus on the concept of the three life stages, namely stage aesthetic, ethical and religious. After the performance characteristics of these stages, their differences, relationships and hierarchies I focus on the aesthetic stage in the main part of my work. In Kierkegaard's concept it represents the lowest possibility of human life, connected with pleasure and domination of emotions. I examine the modalities of aesthetic existence, its tendencies and inner tensions which ultimately can lead a man to leave this level of existence in my work. My work is descriptive character, its aim is to bring Kierkegaard's concept of three life stages, their diversity should be further investigated. I'm concerned about the summary of terms that Kierkegaard's philosophy and approach uses his whole concept. The aim of this work is to define the details of the stage and show their interdependence and the need for each of them. Key words stage of life, aesthetics, existentialism, Kierkegaard
