Web Map Services Using Geographical Data
Ill, Petr ; Alexa, Štěpán (advisor) ; Potančok, Martin (referee)
This bachelor thesis introduces the problematics of geographic information systems, geographic data and web map services (WMS and WFS standards). Special attention is paid to examples of practical usage, including expected development in near future. Practical part demonstrates the usage through design and development of a web application, which would serve end users to plan trips.
Management and description of geographic data in the field of environment of the Czech Republic
Zrzavecká, Lada ; Souček, Martin (advisor) ; Novotná, Eva (referee)
This thesis describes and analyzes the current state of environmental management of geographic data within geoinformation infrastructure of the Czech Republic in response to European legislation. The work is divided into four main parts. The first part deals with geoinformation infrastructure of the Czech Republic in its basic components due to the efficiency of the management of geographic data. Another part deals with the general characteristics of geospatial data underlying the description methods, organization and retrieval in the next section. The final part of its qualitative research describes in detail the management of geospatial data in the environmental sector, which is affected by the phenomenon of the implementation of INSPIRE and draws conclusions and recommendations. The work also supports the analysis of the availability of data sources for the implementation of the INSPIRE directive, the questionnaire used as a guide for research purposes, to illustrate the services Geoportal three pictures. Geographic Information Systems in the field of environment and nature protection
Zrzavecká, Lada ; Bravený, Libor (advisor) ; Vaníčková, Lucie (referee)
The bachelor thesis summarize and refer to importance and effective using Geographic Information Systems in the field of environment and nature protection. The first and second chapter summarize historical development, main terms and principles of these systems to handle the problem. The third chapter deals with using GIS in the field of environment and presents examples and analysis of services and technologies in nature protection. The fourth chapter presents work with software and own concrete examples and definite possibilities. The final fifth chapter summarize and evaluates obtained results and outlines further possible development. [Authors' abstract].
Long-term land use changes in Albertov
Holman, Lukáš ; Hofman, Petr (referee) ; Štych, Přemysl (advisor)
Long-term land use changes in Albertov Abstrakt The thesis deals with the implementation of geoinfomatic systems in the problematics of the historical land use based on the available historical and current map materials and aerial photographs. The main aim of the thesis is the evaluation of the long-term changes in the landscape in the locality of the Faculty of Science of Karlova University in Albertov. The comparation of the historical and current condition of Albertov landscape is visualised through use of software package of ArcGIS Desktop and demonstrated by creation of 3D model of the researched area. The second outcome of the research is a set of maps chronologically visualizing the changes in land use at Albertov in the last 160 years. Keywords: old maps, 3D model, historical land use, Albertov, ArcGIS Desktop, GIS, geographical data
Visualization of Route Information and Elevation Profile
Kolčárek, Michal ; Přibyl, Bronislav (referee) ; Kubíček, Radek (advisor)
An ambition of this thesis was to create a complex program for managing geographic data from GPS receiver with graphic user interface. The final application is able to show an information about tracks, to draw tracks into map and to create graphs. Main challenge was to create a user friendly aplication, which is easy to manage even by beginner users. In this application was used a Java language using objected-oriented paradigm.
Geographics Information Systems in Transportation
Souček, Václav ; Kudrna, Jan (referee) ; Kuba,, Jaroslav (referee) ; Kačmařík, Jaroslav (referee) ; Macur, Jiří (advisor)
The work is focused on the issues associated with the use of geographical information systems in transport. Of the various types of transport was chosen railway transport for its great potential particularly in the field of freight transport, but also because it is a relatively environmentally friendly. This fact is also well known to the leaders of the European Union, who are engaged in the field of transportation. The European Commission in its documents (green and white papers) gives accent on the development of railway transportation and combined transportation, because this is the path to secure the sustainable development of transport. In the course of this study the current state of information systems several problems were discovered. One problem is the fragmentation of the partial information systems and the associated strong administrative burden. This situation stems both from the incomplete legislative framework, but also from the lack of the concept and awareness of the managerial positions. This work deals with other selected issues. The first is the area of designing the data model topology track that satisfies the requirements set out in legislation, both European and national level. The data model was designed with regard to a sufficient degree of variability. The work contains a section dedicated to the implementation of the data model and solution design of problems associated with visualization arcs. Another area is the collection of geographic data. Data collection is one of the key tasks in the implementation and maintenance of the information system. The acquisition of the geographical data can be lengthy and costly. We therefore suggest how to use inertial measurement in acquisition of topological data. This method could speed up the entire process of data capturing with sufficient precision and reduce the costs to the acceptable range.

Web map services using geographical data
Královec, Ota ; Alexa, Štěpán (advisor) ; Daněk, Lukáš (referee)
This bachelor thesis introduces geographic information systems, geographic data and shows professional applications of them in real world. Further it focuses on standardization of web geospatial services primarily WMS and WFS. In the practical part thesis describes usage of geographic information systems in two different companies and introduces potential improvements using WMS or WFS. For that purpose, the practical part uses two case studies.
Geionformation technology
Maleňák, Josef ; Palovská, Helena (advisor) ; Bruckner, Tomáš (referee)
The subject of the bachelor's thesis is the description and characteristic of selected geoinformation technologies. In the theoretical part the terms geoinformatics and geoinformation technologies are defined. It is followed by the description of specific features of the chosen technologies and their utilization possibilities. The practical part deals with the geoportal of the region of Central Bohemia. It describes the functionality and user interface of the applications placed in this portal, inclusive the proposal of possible extensions. In the conclusion of the thesis, factors affecting this portal are classified by means of SWOT analysis. The main purpose of the thesis is to acquaint the readers with geoinformation technologies and map applications of particular geoportal.
