The Attitude of Harry Styles's fans towards gender roles in society

The theoretical part of the thesis delves into the subject of gender in all the necessary dimensions for the elaboration of this work. The term is initially characterized in a broader context and further developed through gender roles and their shaping in society, including more specific terms such as masculinity and femininity, and gender stereotypes. The focus extends to relationships in connection with gender, where the influence of family relationships on development, the impact of peers, and parasocial relationships, relationships between fans and celebrities, are thoroughly examined. Additionally, there is a chapter on what is typical in fashion for men and women. The work places a central emphasis on exploring fandom, with definitions in this area. This includes an exploration of fandom itself, the perception of the term 'fan,' boy bands, and fandoms. The history and current status of advice columns adn "agony aunts" in both English and Czech and Slovak journalism with a focus on the question of gender

The presented thesis, "The history and current state of advice columns and 'agony aunts' in both English and Czech and Slovak journalism with a focus on the question of gender" explores and analyzes advice columns as a journalistic genre, examining them from a feminist point of view and focusing on the question of the presented gender norms. The thesis begins with a brief historic overview of advice columns from its origins in the United Kingdom, the United States as well as Czech Republic and Slovakia. The methodological part of the study briefly outlines the theoretical background of the research, gender ideology, as well as previous studies in the field. Analytical part of the thesis looks into nine different advice columns; four British examples, two American ones and three from the Czech Republic, covering different types of media (daily newspapers, tabloids, women's magazines, radio). In selected examples from each of the columns, it strives to answer two key questions; how a given column portrays gender roles and what ideological inclinations can be found in the columns, particularly on the conservatism-liberalism and feminism-patriarchy axes. Analysis of chosen civics textbooks from the perspective of gender

This thesis is focused on the analysis of three chosen civics textbooks for the 6th grade of primary school from the perspective of gender. The aim was to find out, using qualitative and quantitative content analysis, whether or not women and men are depicted in gender stereotyped roles and in what numbers they are represented. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part is dedicated to explaining the concepts of sex and gender, gender socialisation, gender in the school environment and gender in language. The practical part is dedicated to the analysis of the textbooks. As a result of the analysis, it is found that in all textbooks women are significantly outnumbered by men. Application of Gender Management in Selected Company

This diploma thesis is focused on the application of gender management in Bosch Diesel company, situated in Jihlava. In the theoretical part the essential terms and general findings about gender management and work-life balance are explained. The practical part of the thesis deals with the chosen company, analysis of its internal environment and incentives to integrate gender management and deal with the work-life balance. Alongside with the survey in Bosch Diesel, questionnaire research in Honeywell (Brno) was accomplished, which provided an interesting comparison with the questionnaire investigation carried out in Bosch Diesel. The aim of the thesis is to prepare suitable suggestions based on the previous analysis. These suggestions are of informational character and then they could bring positive changes in some companies (and the whole society as well).
Analysis of attitudes towards gender roles and their harmonization in Czech society

This thesis examines gender roles and their development in Czech society. The theoretical part defines the concepts of gender and sex, examines gender roles and the combination of work and family roles, with an emphasis on the changes in attitudes towards gender roles over time. The thesis draws on previous research and analyses of attitudes towards gender roles. It combines secondary analysis of data from the ISSP international research project with analysis of qualitative interviews. The research objectives include describing the attitudes of Czech society towards gender roles, verifying the existing findings in a new context and examining the influence of the current gender structure on attitudes towards gender roles and the harmonisation of work and family responsibilities. Several key findings regarding gender roles in Czech society emerged from the analysis. Data from the ISSP secondary analysis shows that attitudes towards gender roles are not static and undergo changes over time. Some trends in the view of gender roles in the family and at work have been identified that indicate a shift away from traditional models. The Gender Pay Gap within the European Union

The thesis describes the gender pay gap and evaluates it from the view of the European Union and the Member States. It focuses on the measures and instruments that have been developed to tackle the causes of the gender pay gap. The definition of the pay gap is given and the gender and gender roles are described. The gender pay gap as a systematic underpayment of women is measured using adjusted and unadjusted data. The thesis concerns with primary causes of the gender pay gap, such as the horizontal and vertical segregation, differences in human capital, or discrimination. It deals with the gender pay gap at the level of the European Union and at the level of the individual Members States. The role of the European Union is described and assessed as well as its legislative and non-legislative instruments. The focus is on the proactive measures that contribute to solving the primary causes of the gender pay gap. The positive action measures and family-friendly measures are presented.
Gender Ideologies in the Czech Republic in Comparison with Spain

Viktorie Aldabaghová Abstract This thesis focuses on gender ideologies in the Czech Republic. Through a secondary analysis of data collected as part of the 2017 European Values Study, the attitudes of the Czech public towards gender roles are explored. To put the results of the analysis into a broader context, gender ideologies in the Czech Republic are compared with gender ideologies in Spain. The results show that gender ideologies in the Czech Republic are significantly more traditional than gender ideologies in Spain. The association between gender ideologies and basic socio- demographic characteristics of the population is examined.
