Monument of František Palacký in Prague

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to give an integrated statement development of monument of Frantisek Palacky in Prague, which is a piece of one of the leading representatives of Art Nouveau sculpture Stanislav Sucharda and architect Alois Dryák. Attention will be given a public competition that preceded the whole project, the importance of choosing a place for a monument, process Sucharda's creation, the role of the architect and finally the period responses to the entire work.

The introductory chapters describe the reasons for the economic, social and political crisis, resulting in the unrest in Europe in the early 15th century and is shown activity Hus's predecessors Konrad Walhauser, John Milíč of Kromeriz, Matthew of Janov, Vojtech Raňkův from Ježov, Thomas Štítný of Štítné. The diploma thesis is also engaged in the work of John Wycliffe, who influenced the thinking of scholars throughout Europe, including Bohemia, where from his thoughts and opinions drew Jan Hus. The core diploma thesis is to analyze the life and the work of Jan Hus, its importance for the development of Czech history. Hus, influenced by his predecessors, became a leading critic of the Church and its influence goes beyond the 15th century. The diploma thesis shows the influence Hus's thoughts and actions in education and elementary education in the 15th and 16 century. Hus influenced the development of the Czech language and spelling. The ideas of Jan Hus had affected the brotherly unity, that followed the Hussite movement intellectually and spiritual legacy of Jan Hus thanks to John Blahoslav and John Amos Comenius. Journal of the National Museum, culturally-historical periodical and its benefit

This thesis investigates the Journal of the National Museum since its origin to the sixties of the 19th century. Based on work with historical sources presents the Journal's contribution to development of Czech literature and science effort in this period. The Journal was for decades one and only of its kind in Czech countries. The Journal reflects stabilization of Czech language and the development of specialized scientifical terminology. Furthermore, this thesis presents institution of the National Museum and the Treasury - Matice česká and their connection with the Journal. This important connection shaped Czech scientific and literary scene in the early thirties of the 19th century. Thanks to the National Muzeum and its collections of old Czech literature monuments, Matice and the Journal began publishing various historical sources, which are very important for historical knowledge. Space is given to the editors who participated in the Journal's creation and who greatly influenced its final appearance. Thesis contains detailed informations on the founder and first editor of the Journal.

The Role of Russia in the Czech Political Context according to K. H. Borovský and T. G. Masaryk

The role of Russia in the European context underwent a very interesting development from the 19th century onwards. The Czech political elite's attitude towards Russia is very interesting as it kept changing from the 19th to the 20th century. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to describe the different tendencies towards the role of Russia in the Czech political context. This thesis focuses on the role of Russia in the works of Karel Havlíček Borovský and Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk. Other significant politicians will be mentioned as well, such as František Palacký or Karel Kramář, with a special focus on their attitudes towards the role of Russia in the Czech political context.

The women of the bohemian politicians in the 19th century Annotation I have chosen ten women of the bohemian politics living in the 19th century. The first chapter has been about the reasons for choice of the life female partner. I have described the social, lingual and religious background of these women. I have tried to analyse their antenuptial correspondence. The second part of my work has attended to the use of women in the social life and it has focused on their involvement into the {\clqq}morning-room`` life. I have outlined the women incidence in the public asociation in the third chapter.I have been interested in any women activites mainly the philanthrophy. I have tried to find out if the husbands had encouraged thein wives in these acitivities. I have focused on the role of women in the family. I have observed how the husbands had been participated in the running the household and education of their children. I have studied the family correspondence. I have focused on the political aspect of the letters. I have tried to catch how much the women had been interested in the policy.
