Survey expectations, adaptive learning and inflation dynamics
Rychalovska, Y. ; Slobodyan, Sergey ; Wouters, R.
The use of survey information on inflation expectations as an observable in a DSGE model can substantially refine identification of the shocks that drive inflation. Optimal integration of the survey information improves the model forecast for inflation and for other macroeconomic variables. Models with expectations based on an Adaptive Learning setup can exploit survey information more efficiently than their Rational Expectations counterparts. The resulting time-variation in the perceived inflation target, in inflation persistence, and in the sensitivity of inflation to various shocks provide a rich and consistent description of the joint dynamics of realized and expected inflation. Our framework produces a reasonable interpretation of the post-Covid inflation dynamics. Our learning model successfully identifies the more persistent nature of the recent inflation surge.
The beginning kindergarten teacher
HOŘEJŠÍ, Jana
The bachelor's thesis focuses on beginning teachers and their induction into practice. It summarizes the requirements for kindergarten teachers, focuses on their induction and focuses on forms of self-reflection or psycho-hygiene. The aim of the thesis is to find out what the means of induction are and whether the perceptions of employment of kindergarten teachers differ from reality. The theoretical part discusses the required education, the requisites of the job. Attention is also paid to beginning teachers, their induction and the possible pitfalls that accompany the beginning. Self-reflection of teachers is also addressed, as well as psycho-hygiene, to prevent burnout syndrome. A semi-structured interview ascertains the actual beginnings of beginning teachers, as well as their expectations and subsequent awareness of reality.

This Bachelor thesis deals with quality of service and satisfaction of visitors in the tourist destination Pec pod Sněžkou. Basic concepts from the issue of ser-vice quality and satisfaction of visitors are defined and the current state of the destination as well. The work includes a semi-structured interview with a repre-sentative of the municipality of Pec pod Sněžkou and a questionnaire survey on the service quality and overall satisfaction of visitors. Its evaluation was carried out using statistical methods and recommendations are then made on how to in-crease the quality of services and thus the overall cooperation of visitors.
The Legitimacy of Public Service Media in the 21st Century: The Role of Audience Analysis
Vysloužilová, Kristýna ; Nečas, Vlastimil (advisor) ; Trampota, Tomáš (referee) ; Kroupa, Jiří (referee)
The dissertation thesis addresses the current position of European public service media. After many years in the position of naturally monopolistic broadcasters, these media are competing for attention not only with a number of private media but also with an unlimited number of online platforms. The thesis analyzes the main potential threats to the legitimacy of public service media and gradually describes the normative requirements that are imposed on public service media primarily by legislation, but that also arise from a socio-historical context. Furthermore, it describes technological trends in the media sector that influence media consumption patterns. Finally, it covers the transformation of the relationship between public service media and their audience. The audience and their expectations are identified as the key source of public service media legitimacy. The research in the thesis aims to analyze to what extent and how the public service media in Europe use audience analysis when defending their own legitimacy. It also presents specific recommendations and results of the author's own quantitative pilot research on a representative sample of the Czech population, which verifies the potential of some of these recommendations on the example of the Czech Television's perception.
Professional survey forecasts and expectations in DSGE models
Rychalovska, Y. ; Slobodyan, Sergey ; Wouters, R.
In this paper, we demonstrate the usefulness of survey data for macroeconomic analysis and propose a strategy to integrate and efficiently utilize information from surveys in the DSGE setup. We extend the set of observable variables to include the data on consumption, investment, output, and inflation expectations, as measured by the Survey of Professional Forecasters (SPF). By doing so, we aim to discipline the dynamics of model-based expectations and evaluate alternative belief models. Our approach to exploit the timely information from surveys is based on re-specification of structural shocks into persistent and transitory components. Due to the SPF, we are able to improve identification of fundamental shocks and predictive power of the model by separating the sources of low and high frequency volatility. Furthermore, we show that models with an imperfectly-rational expectation formation mechanism based on Adaptive Learning (AL) can reduce important limitations implied by the Rational Expectation (RE) hypothesis. More specifically, our models based on belief updating can better capture macroeconomic trend shifts and, as a result, achieve superior long-term predictions. In addition, the AL mechanism can produce realistic time variation in the transmission of shocks and perceived macro-economic volatility, which allows the model to better explain the investment dynamics. Finally, AL models, which relax the RE constraint of internal consistency between the agents’ and model forecasts, can reproduce the main features of agents’ predictions in line with SPF evidence and, at the same time, can generate improved model forecasts, thus diminishing possible inefficiencies present in surveys.
Motivation and expectations of Czech students for university studies in Great Britain
Jeřábková, Tereza ; Balon, Jan (advisor) ; Uherek, Zdeněk (referee)
This study aims to identify and analyse the motivations and expectations of students who have decided to complete their full university studies in the UK. The thesis further examines the retrospective view of these students on their study abroad and their subjective perception of this experience. As part of the research, specific experiences that students had during their studies abroad and which had an impact on their personal development and life paths are investigated. Part of the study is also the identification of potential challenges and difficulties that students encountered in a foreign country and how these influences affected their motivation and determination to achieve their study goals. Last but not least, the work focuses on the assessment of student development at the personal and career level, thereby bringing insights into the benefits of this study format for the individual growth and professional perspectives of students.

Matual expectations of Nurse and students majoring in General nurse on practical training in selected wards
KLAUSOVÁ, Klára
This thesis assesses the mutual expectations of nurses and students majoring in Generel nurse in practical training in selected hospital departments. The main goal of the thesis is to analyze what are the mutual expectations of nurses and nursing students in practical teaching in selected hospital departments. The thesis is divided into a theoretical part and an empirical part. The theoretical part covers history of education of nurses, current study conditions in nursing, competencies of General Nurses, practical training, mentoring and the specifics of nursing care in selected hospital departments. In the empirical part, a quantitative research survey was used. The survey was performed using two types of questionnaires. First type was distributed to nurses in the surgical, internal medicine and psychiatric wards. The second type was distributed to second and third-year students of nursing school. Six hypotheses were formulated: H1: The nurse expectations are influenced by the level of nurse's education. H2: The nursing student expectations are influenced by the level of nurse's education. H3: The nursing student expectations are influenced by the specifics of the selected department. H4: The nurse expectations are influenced by nurse's tenure in the selected department. H5: The nursing student expectations are influenced by the level of student's education. H6: The nurse expectations are influenced by the level of student's education. The results show that the nurse expectations is influenced by the level of nurse's education (H1) and also by the student's previous education (H6). The nursing student expectations are influenced by the specifics of the selected department (H3). It was also found that the nursing student expectations are not affected by the education of nurses (H2) or the student's previous education (H5). The results of the work can be used by nursing students before starting practical training as well as by nurses as feedback.
Negative thoughts in mothers
Janusová, Štěpánka ; Presslerová, Pavla (advisor) ; Valentová, Hana (referee)
1 ABSTRACT This thesis explores negative thoughts in mothers in the context of the early years of their first- born child's life. The theoretical part of the thesis is divided into three parts: the first presents the negative thoughts and accompanying emotions of mothers from the perspective of psychopathology, the second from the perspective of social psychology, and the third places them in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. The research part of the thesis presents the research questions, the method of interpretative phenomenological analysis, the characteristics of the research sample, data collection through semi-structured interviews and additional written questions, and it presents the findings. First, mothers experience content-similar negative thoughts that are accompanied by similar negative emotions; and furthermore, we can find similar developments over time. Second, the evolution of negative thoughts was associated with a change in their interpretations and a change in coping strategies. If mothers evaluated their negative thoughts and emotions as normal and natural, they coped better with them, managed to confide them to others and thus reduced their negative impact on the child. The perception of oneself as a good enough mother plays a key role here. Thirdly, expectations play an important...
