The Implementation of Ethic Education as a Supplementary Educational Subject in the Czech Republic
Motyčka, Pavel
In this work we have been researching how Ethic Education influences the pupils behaviour and the social climate in the classroom. For this research we have used a mixed quantitative and a qualitative methodology. In the quantitative part we have realized our research through the natural experiment with one observed independent variable which applicated the programme of Ethic Education for basic school pupils and secondary school students in a period of one year. We have observed these dependant variables of pupils behaviour: the amount of the prosocial behavior, the amount of anxiety and the amount of the behavioural problems. In a group we have observed: the quality of the social climate and the amount of the trust. In the qualitative part we have tried to examine how pupils and teachers perceive Ethic Education and what principles they use for it. We have used these methods of collecting information: a nomination technigue, a questionary About Your Fellowstudents, a questionary About Your Emotions, a questionary CES, a questionary SDQ. In the qualitative part we have used a questionary with this open question: What has Ethic Education taken from me and given to me? We think that we can make a conclusion about this research that in the quantitative part the hypothese proved that Ethic Education reduces...

Semrádová, Miloslava ; Syřiště, Ivo (advisor) ; Thorovská, Alena (referee)
The education of ethics on Elementary school of Uvaly is carried out using the "Send it further" method since school year 2013/2014. Its aim is to create a complete system of ethical education. The output of this project was the creation of an ethical codex (student - teacher - parent) during the school year 2016/2017. The aim of this thesis is to describe and analyze the current status of implementation of ethical education in practice at Elementary school of Uvaly. The working hypothesis "Is it necessary to create a system of ethical education?" was verified using content analysis and guided interview methods. One of the prerequisites for the hypothesis verification was to make ethical education an integral and mandatory part of curricular school documentation. Furthermore, the thesis verifies the impact of practical ethics (in the form of an ethical codex) on personal and social education. Daněk, Tereza ; Janošová, Pavlína (advisor) ; Váňová, Miroslava (referee)
In diploma theses, I focused on the theme of the educational field and the school subject Ethic Education. The work is divided into two parts. The theoretical part deals with the concept of ethic education in a broad context, with the history of ethic education in the Czech Republic, as well as with the polemic about the (non) dispensability of ethic education as an independent teaching subject. The last chapter focuses on an overview of how ethic education is succeeding today along with outlining its next possible development for the future. The aim of this diploma thesis was to find out the opinions of Ethic education teachers on issues related to the concept and curriculum of ethic education in the Czech Republic. Also differences in answers of Czech and Slovak respondents on the same research questions. The research shows that Czech teachers are identified with the current concept of ethic education, its aims, teaching methods, they are pleased by teaching ethic education. Compared to Slovak respondents, Czech teachers responded less critically, consensually. They have shown greater satisfaction with the amount and quality of the methodical materials they have at their disposal.

Syslová, Jitka ; Lorenzová, Jitka (advisor) ; Strouhal, Martin (referee)
Titled ''Apprehension of Ethics in the practice of Czech teachers'', my Master's Thesis opens with elaborating on the term ''competention'' as the objective of education in the 21st century. Putting the ethic education in the European context, I then investigate the practical teaching cases in particular countries. The existing concepts of T. Lickona, M. Berkowitz and R.R. Olivar are described in the third chapter. After that the ethic education in the Czech Republic comes in to the focus; with a special attention being given to its institutional framework. The chapter number four analyses a teacher of the ethic education; it explores further options for ethic education in offer; and the selection of various teaching materials that differ among each other in their ethical and philosophical approaches and learnings. Using the phenomenological method, the last part of the Thesis presents a qualitative research on the various approaches taken by the teachers of ethic education. It particularly focuses on how the teacher's personal value system is projected in the education process and thus affects opinions and values of her students.
