Thesis analyzes steps of creating maps from OpenStreetMap data. It examines tools, that can be used to perform those steps, evaluates them and their variations with the goal of choosing one suitable to be used in implementation. Then it implements the entire proposed solution using the selected tools from obtaining the data, through rendering map images, to serving them to end users. The procedure is documented thoroughly. It shows how to insert your own layers to the map, in this case counour lines and walking trails and how to search for routes.

Sušice, the Gate of Šumava Mountains. Development and Promotion of Tourism in the Region of Sušice in years 1918-1938

This thesis deals with the topic of development and promotion of tourism in the region of Sušice in years 1918 - 1938. It expands the field of research of the author´s bachelor thesis Activities of the Club of Czech Tourist in years 1890 - 1914. Firstly, three big building projects of the Club are observed: construction of Klostermann´s chalet in Modrava and chalet in Prášily, as well as the re-erection of Svatobor´s view tower. The following part focuses on the development of the possibilities of transport in the region: trains, regular and occasional tourist buses and cars. Marked tourist paths for walking are also considered. Later it´s examined whether the centre of the region - the town Sušice - conforms to the typical depiction of a summer resort. Main steps making the locality more attractive for tourists are explored. The changes in numbers of visitors in Sušice from the second half of 1920s are outlined. In the next part the author analyses the vacationers from the summer 1930 in social and vocational terms. The last part compares guidebooks and other promotional materials and based on them enquires, whether the presentation of town Sušice in the interwar period diverges from the end of the 19th century. The topic of nationalism is omnipresent in the whole thesis.

Barefoot hiking in the Czech Republic

Title: Barefoot hiking in the Czech Republic Objectives: The aim of this work is to assess the possibilities and position of barefoot hiking in the Czech Republic. Methods: The research part of the work is divided into two parts in order to meet the objectives. The first is to determine the impacts of barefoot hiking on human health and to describe the profile of a barefoot hiker using a questionnaire survey. The research lasted 11 weeks and involved 230 respondents, of which 147 (64%) are active barefoot tourists and 83 (36%) are respondents who are only interested in barefoot hiking. Secondly, two semi-structured interviews were conducted - with a barefoot physiotherapist about the effects of barefoot hiking on human health and with a barefoot walking methodology specialist about the development and position of this form of hiking. Results: 64 % of the addressed barefoot hikers experience an overall improvement in health in connection with barefoot hiking. 63 % of the surveyed barefoot tourists put on shoes due to the cold only at temperatures below 10 řC. 13% even only at temperatures below -5 řC. 67 % of the interviewed barefoot hikers prefer the length of barefoot trips up to 10 km. 78% of the addressed barefoot hikers engage in barefoot hiking only individually (not within any club). 53 % of...

Implementation of a long distance hiking trail along the Luznice River

The bachelor paper Implementation of a long distance hiking trail along the Luznice River is concerned with hiking. The main purpose of the work is to map and define a long distance trail along the Luznice River with the view of German quality trails. The trail is called "The trail along the Luznice River leads us together". As the Luznice River springs in Austria, this project will be a matter of international partnership between the Czech Republic and Austria. The aim is not only the creation of the trail, but also the cooperation and communication of two countries. The greater focus is on hiking, the Czech Tourist Club (as the Lead Partner) and the trail itself. The next part of the paper indicates the trails potential for certification. The paper provides target groups, partnership, objectives and contributions to tourism.

Main aim of this thesis is to analyse impact of new projects of the Czech Tourist Club on tourism of our country. The thesis concerns recent and contemporary projects, main analysis concerns four new projects - Information trails, Tourism for everyone, Collectible cards and Eurorando 2011 - Water from the roof of Europe. Theoretical part describes the Czech tourist club and its history and present activity. Analytical part describes four new projects and evaluates their impact on tourism.

The historical development of tourist routes and signs in the Czech republic

This bachelor thesis deals with the development of tourist signs in the Czech republic. It focuses on tourist marked routes and trails in general, their marking, mapping and also it focuses on literature concerning these questions, so it presents a comprehensive summary of the historical development of this sphere. Also it tries to find out connections of current tourist routes and trails with the ancient ones. The practical part apply the previous findings to the particular trail - the oldest extant marked trail in the Czech republic, the Trail of Vojta Náprstek situated southwest of Prague.
