Comparison of the Privatization Process in the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary

The subject of this thesis is the comparison of the privatization process in the Czech Republic (former Czechoslovakia), Hungary and Poland. The starting point of the thesis represents an initial outline of the situation - for different initial conditions in each country significantly influenced the course and shape of the process. The main part of the thesis is an analysis of privatization processes in compared countries, with emphasis on their specific features and influences that affect the process significantly. At the conclusion there is a comparision of Czech, Hungarian and Polish version of privatization based on several criteria. Although it is difficult to classify the universally best privatization method, main advantages and disadvantages of different methods and serious mistakes committed by economic policy actors can be easily identified.
Analysis of actual trends in mobile market on example of Vodafone Czech Republic

This work aims to prepare the analysis puts current trends in the mobile market, and these results are then used to evaluate the current position of Vodafone Czech Republic and its marketing communications to mobile communications market in the Czech Republic. The analytical part of the work focuses on the local telecommunications market, regulatory environment, and marketing communications company described. Based on these findings are then also defined current trends in the mobile communications market and they then derive predictions of the future development of the entire market. Given the specific nature of this market, the individual's internal analysis based on information obtained directly from the surveyed companies, which for this work of great benefit as set out conclusions are backed by real market data. The work also draws on research methods conducted among customers of mobile operators, but their aim was to determine customer attitudes to new technologies or brand awareness operator or its marketing communications.
Comparison of accounting and tax depreciation of long-term assets in the Czech and Slovak Republics

The objective of this work is to compare the systems of accounting and tax depreciation of long-term assets in the Czech and Slovak Republics, according to the valid legislation on 1. 1. 2011. The first two chapters are devoted to the analysis of Czech accounting and tax regulations. The next two chapters focus on the depreciation of long-term assets in the Slovak Republic and its comparison with Czech legislation. The fifth chapter summarizes the differences of both systems. Both accounting systems do not differ fundamentally, however, we find greater differences in the issues of tax depreciation, where the more scope for optimization of the tax base is left for Czech taxpayer.
International competitiveness of Czech Republic in new millenium

The diploma thesis examines the development of the competitiveness of Czech Republic since 2000 by means of measurable and comprehensive indicators. The first two chapters generate the theoretical basis for following analysis. In the first chapter is defined the concept of competitiveness at the macroeconomic level. The second chapter deals with methods and principles of measuring competitiveness, which are applied to economy of Czech Republic. First is examined the export performance and its development in the new millennium. Following is analyzed the indicators of cost competitiveness compared with EU member states. Eventually are described evaluation results of the World Economic Forum and the International Institute for Management Development.
Russia as a strategically important market for Czech exporters

The work deals with trade relations between Czech republic and Russia. The aim is to analyze Russian market, to assess its potential from the point of view of opportunities for Czech products on Russian market and to evaluate the overall market significance for Czech exporters. The researching part of the work begins with an analysis of the economic development of Russia since the Soviet Union collapse to the present. Then the work continues with an analysis of evolution of trade relations between Czech republic and Russia, which determines main directions and areas of cooperation. The next chapter presents an analysis of Czech pro-export policy and its functionality in relation to the Russian market in order to evaluate the significance of Czech pro-export institutions for domestic entrepreneurs. The last part of the work is devoted to analzying the Russian business environment in order to identify opportunities and possible risks of doing business in this market. This work may serve as a useful material for students and teachers of universities and experts of economic institutions.
The competitiveness of Czech and Slovak Republic

The diploma thesis deals with the competitiveness of Czech and Slovak Republic. The aim of the thesis is to compare the competitiveness of both economies based on the subjectively chosen factors (sources) of competitiveness. The selection of analyzed factors is related to the World Economic Forum concept. The intention is to find out, how the level of competitiveness of both countries has evolved in a specific time period. The level of competitiveness is analyzed from the perspective of the complex multicriteria approach to competitiveness.
International comparison of the use of e-business

In the Czech Republic, more than a third of all businesses with 10 or more employees buy their goods or services via computer networks. In contrast, more than a fifth of all businesses sale using at least one form of e-commerce. Common citizen can get this kind of information, for example, from media, newspaper or spoken word, but without wider context they have got only general information value. Electronic business, which e-commerce is part of, is a large area which depends on many factors, such as the legislation of the country, its economic maturity or level of computer literacy. The purpose of this work is to bring the closer look about the various forms of e-commerce and especially to analyze their current state, business sector development in the Czech Republic for the last few years and make a comparison with EU countries. The analytical part of this work is based on data obtained from the database of the Czech Statistical Office.
The comparison of the consumer behaviour in the Czech republic and Ireland

The diploma thesis is dedicated to the comparison of the consumer behaviour in the Czech Republic and Ireland. The first two chapters describe the theoretical background of the consumer behaviour and the linkage betwen consumer behaviour and marketing and also the factors, influencing the consumer behaviour. The best known consumer behaviour models are also desribed. The second part of the thesis is dedicated to the specifics of the Czech Republic and Ireland, both countries are introduced in terms of historical, cultural and economical development. The final part of the thesis focuses on the results of the primary research, conducted via online surveys among Czech and Irish consumers.
Foreign Direct Investment in World Economy: Flows, Motives, Impact

This paper analyses foreign direct investment (FDI), their impact and trends in the context of the world economy and then as a case study of the Czech Republic. The first chapter studies the theoretical foundations of FDI and impact on source and destination countries. The second chapter summarizes basic trends, territorial and sectoral structure and evolution of the legal framework. The third part is a case study where the Czech Republic is put into the context of FDI, followed by analysis of its impact on the balance of payment, employment and interaction with local companies. The main outcome of the paper is that FDI has had a positive influence on employment, but investment incentives have focused too much on unskilled labour, which will become uncompetitive relative to other countries. A big risk is also the burden on the balance of payments.
