Kramář, Rudolf ; Gřivna, Tomáš (advisor) ; Bohuslav, Lukáš (referee) ; Kuchta, Josef (referee)
1 Corruption in health care in the Czech Republic Abstract The topic of this dissertation thesis is the issue of corruption in health care in the Czech Republic. It is a broad topic with a wide range of related aspects that go far beyond the limited scope of the dissertation. Corruption in the health sector certainly takes a number of forms and can be assumed in a cross-sectional way in almost all areas of which health care consists. From public procurement and the selection of managers of state hospitals, through the conclusion of contracts of health insurance companies and the cooperation of pharmaceutical or supply companies with doctors, to corruption in the relationship between the patient and the provider of health services. The last mentioned area is to some extent specific to health care, and the author elaborates on the reasons in detail. The problem, from the point of view of criminal law, however, lies in the fact that this area of corruption in the health sector is very difficult to detect due to the intimacy of the doctor-patient relationship. After a brief introductory excursion into individual potential areas of corruption in the health sector, the author focuses in more detail on the corrupt environment within the relationships - simply put - of the doctor and the patient, respectively the...

The housing market in Ukraine
DIAKOV, Vladyslav
The purpose of this thesis was to take a deeper look into the Ukrainian housing market, understand its problems and find or synthesize possible solutions. My primary motivation for writing this paper is a period in my life when my father bought me an apartment in Kyiv and I, having no experience dealing with Ukrainian housing market bureaucracy and corruption, had to do all the paperwork to become a legal owner of the property. I failed multiple times before I succeeded and experienced a lot of issues, I researched in this paper first hand. Due to the reasons explained in the paper, obtaining primary data about the Ukrainian housing market is virtually Impossible, therefore the main sources for this thesis were theoretical works of scientists and researchers and secondary statistics. In the process of research, it was discovered that some problems undermining the development of the housing market in Ukraine are more trivial and easily solvable than it was hypothesized. However, some of the problems turned out to be deep-seated and systemic. This thesis definitely shows that even though the problems of the Housing market in Ukraine are serious and very damaging, there are possible solutions that can be effective in solving or at least mitigating those issues.

Prudilová, Eva ; Scheu, Harald Christian (advisor) ; Navrátil, Petr (referee)
Lobbying and Corruption in the European Union Legislative Procedure Abstract The diploma thesis deals with influencing the legislative process of the European Union. Legislation at European Union level affects the lives of millions of citizens as well as the functioning of legal systems and law in the Member States. Although the primary law of the European Union presupposes the participation of the general public in the legislative process, which takes place precisely through interest groups, lobbyists, the issue remains neglected in the academic environment. At the same time, the word expression "lobbying" is entwined with many myths and is associated mainly with a negative meaning. The participation of lobbyists, its legitimacy, the border with the illegal influence of the legislative process is thus still perceived as a gray zone in which it is difficult to navigate. The thesis aims to distinguish between legal and legitimate participation of interest groups in the legislative process and illegal practices - corruption. To do this, an analysis of legal norms is used, which regulates both negotiations in the first and second part of the diploma thesis. In the case of corruption, it is a complex, long-evolving and clear regulation. However, comprehensive legislation on lobbying and the participation of...
