Strengthened by Sirens
Nikitina, Pavla ; Horáková, Jana (referee) ; Medek, Tomáš (advisor)
The diploma thesis "Hardened by Sirens" focuses on telling stories through sculptural realisation. These stories are taken from the new phase of the Russian-Ukrainian war that started in 2022. I created the sculptures based on 3D scans as a reportage of events caused by the war. In my work, I followed up on an earlier sculptural project-study entitled "5 Minutes", which was created in 2019 in the context of my bachelor’s studies at FFA BUT. The sub-heading to the study read "3D war reportage ". In the textual part of the master’s thesis, I also focus on the concept of 3D reportage and the various possibilities it offers me as an artist working on the border of the genre of reportage and social documentary.
Single-cylinder Engine of a Road Motorcycle
Čech, Martin ; Molcar, Martin (referee) ; Drápal, Lubomír (advisor)
This thesis is focusing on the construction of a four-stroke internal combustion engine for a 250 ccm road bike. Since it is a road bike, the introduction of legislation of the Czech Republic for this category is outlined in the introduction of the thesis. Furthermore, disassembling of similar and competitive engine was conducted. The thesis also describes the process of construction of this four-stroke internal combustion engine. In addition, the thesis compares friction loss on the main bearing crankshaft. In the latter part there is summarization of all findings.
CNC machining of shaft from gearbox
Konvičný, Denis ; Fiala, Zdeněk (referee) ; Kalivoda, Milan (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the production of gearbox shaft components using a CNC machine tool, shaft programming in Tebis 4.0 R8 software, Sinumerik SinuTrain 7.5, and manufacturing accuracy checking using 3D scanning technology, which allows you to compare the CAD model and the scan of the manufactured part.
Replica of a historical machine gun mount
Doležal, Jakub ; Suchý, Jan (referee) ; Maňas, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the analysis and construction of the Královopolská gun mount replica, which were equipped in selected objects of Czechoslovak border fortifications before the World War II. This work is devoted to the analysis of the original documents for the gun mount, CAD model creation, 3D scanning and modification of scanned polygonal mesh of the heavy machine gun vz.24, which was selected as an example of machine guns mounted in the Královopolská gun mount. This is followed by a virtual compatibility check of the gun mount model with the machine gun model. The production model creation is introduced in next part, using technology with the lowest possible production costs. Complete drawing documentation for the replica production is also part of this bachelor thesis.
My Private Collection - "Tetraptych"
Nikitina, Pavla ; Skalický, Martin (referee) ; Gabriel, Michal (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with increasing and transfering texture details of abstract paintings into sculptural monochrome reliefs. My collection of 3D detail scans of abstract paintings from world-famous museums served as the basis for my work. The result is four sculptural reliefs created by robotic machining into polyurethane blocks based on the 3D scans.
Creation of educational experiment for Aerodynamics I course
Fenech, Daniel ; Navrátil, Jan (referee) ; Popela, Robert (advisor)
Parameters for 1D Single Cylinder Engine Simulation
Stryja, Štěpán ; Šebela, Kamil (referee) ; Janoušek, Michal (advisor)
The relationship between the 1D simulation and the corresponding input parameters is addressed in the paper. The one-dimensional simulation is demonstrated in the GT-Power environment. The work deals with both experimental and computational analysis of the input parameters. Additive methods of 3D printing of fixtures and subsequent measurement of volumetric flow rates on a Superflow Flowbench SF-260E purge station were used. This procedure led to the final calculation of discharge coefficients. The 3D scanning method, using ATOS 2M equipment, together with subsequent data processing, using the appropriate software, led to the analysis of the valvetrain mechanism and the construction of its kinematics. The practical part was demonstrated on two-cylinder heads of a four-stroke single cylinder engine with a displacement of 125 cm3, with natural aspiration. One of the heads was modified, resulting in volumetric flow increase of 29 % in case of the intake and 15 % in case of the exhaust, compared to the stock head. The work led to the acquisition of key input data for the 1D simulation of the aforementioned engine.
Scanning and evaluation of a patient's hand with Dupuytren's contracture
Dalecký, Jan ; Vosynek, Petr (referee) ; Návrat, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with development of methodology for determining the angles between joints of the fingers of a patient with Dupyutren’s disease. The methodology works with 3D scan of the hand created with the help of a smartphone and rotating mechanism. Nowadays, the measurement is carried out with the help of a goniometer. However, this measurement is often inaccurate and may not be very pleasant for the patient. The main reason for the research is to improve the quality of the measurement results and evaluate the patient’s condition outside of the time spent in the clinic. An electronic database with the possibility of visual comparison of the patient’s conditions is also an advantage. The angle measurement process takes place on the computer in Fusion 360 and Blender software. Both measurement software and mobile scanning applications are selected to make this methodology as accessible as possible. All applications are freely accessible and user-friendly. The digitally measured values significantly match the real values and even give more relevant results for the evaluation of the severity of the patient’s condition.
