The Influence of Thermal Insulation of Terraced Houses on the Operation-Related Expenses
Polický, Robin ; Klika, Pavel (referee) ; Čech, Josef (advisor)
The diploma thesis examines the influence of insulation of terraced houses on the expenses associated with their operation. Its first part deals with legislation concerning the issue and evaluation of energy performance of buildings. Furthermore, the types and properties of the used thermal insulation, methods of thermal insulation, types of filling of openings and then the used methods of budgeting are described. The second part contains several variants of insulation of terraced houses, which are assessed in terms of energy intensity and finally in terms of economic return on investment in insulation.
Assessment of the economic efficiency of low-energy and passive house
Maixner, Lukáš ; Klímová, Lenka (referee) ; Vaňková, Lucie (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to assess the economic efficiency of alow-energy and passive construction. This paper presents problems of lowenergy and passive construction, their individual characteristics, classification, construction materials, evaluation methods and opportunities for economic assessment due to the investment costs of implementation objects. The main practical part focuses on comparing the investment and operating costs for the construction of a standard, low-energy and passive house. Together with this are processed simple labels building. The out come of this diploma thesis is the calculation of returnability increased by the initial investment in the construction of a standard, low-energy and passive house.
Thermal Insulation Effect of the Building on the Operation-Related Expenses
Skupa, Jan ; Klika, Pavel (referee) ; Čech, Josef (advisor)
The diploma thesis entitled The influence of building insulation on the costs associated with its operation deals with the design of several variants of building insulation, and subsequent evaluation based on a comparison of operating costs of individual building variants. The theoretical part deals with the history of thermal insulation of buildings, there are types of thermal insulation materials and variants of energy-efficient houses. Then the normative requirements, energy intensity of buildings and methods of thermal insulation of individual building structures are solved. Subsequently, the methods of economic evaluation of the investment and the method of compiling the general budget are addressed. The practical part contains a description of the construction and the proposed variants of insulation, including the calculation of costs, evaluation of the payback period of the investment and evaluation of the proposed variants.
Embedded Photo Trap with Storing Pictures on SD Card
Marek, Ondřej ; Strnadel, Josef (referee) ; Šimek, Václav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis analyzes approaches and methods used for creation of modern camera traps and their use cases. It also describes the design and implementation details of embedded camera trap prototype, which is an output of this thesis. It focuses mainly on ways of saving energy consumption, compressing stored data and innovative features in terms of improved lighting system and wireless communication. Finally, the conclusion of this thesis contains a discussion of the results obtained during evaluation of the prototype and compares its properties with the camera traps available on the market.
Optimization of Energy Flow During WWTP Operation - Smart Area Net
Pěcha, Jiří ; Máša, Vítězslav (referee) ; Braciník,, Peter (referee) ; Mastný, Petr (advisor)
The dissertation work deals with the issue of water treatment and possibilities of energy savings during the operation of sewage treatment plants. The aim of the work is to find the potential of alternative energy use, economical consumption, improvement of the facility system management and quality improvement of the wastewater treatment process. In the first part of the work, operating processes, energy flows and energy savings are discussed. To analyze the problematics, larger sewage treatment plants were chosen. Thanks to their size, it was easier to find critical points and test the usage of renewable sources in operation. After the energy audit, the individual processes were assessed and real operation pitfalls were determined. Further steps led to focusing on smaller facilities up to 2 000 PE. This step was carried out with the intention of preparing these plants for the planned legislative change and helping to create or modernize more energy-efficient solutions. Thanks to the establishment of consortium of Brno University of Technology, the Department of Electric Power Engineering and a company dealing with water treatment and automation control, a solution was created that modernize the electrical, automation and water treatment part of the plant operation. This innovative application was installed in the sewage treatment plant, where the issues were debugged, control algorithms were tested and the entire operation was launched in automatic mode. At the end of the wastewater treatment plant modernization, PV panels were installed on the roof, thus partially suppling the object with renewable energy.
Sports and social centre - reconstruction
Štěpančík, Ondřej ; Spáčilová, Jitka (referee) ; Spáčil, Miroslav (advisor)
This thesis solves reconstruction of the community center in the village Částkov where work was the subject of energy-efficient and adapt the layout of buildings a new purpose use. It is designed thermal insulation of the building envelope, exchanging heat source with respect to the use of renewable energy and static security buildings in the form of newly built ceiling construction of the supporting steel rolled profiles and reinforced concrete slabs. The building will serve the public amenities and is necessary to ensure barrier-free movement of people into the building and inside it. The second part is to solve the surrounding buildings. It is designed multifunctional sports and sports areas of social security. The basis for the development of the scientific literature, technical standards, regulations and current studies at the Faculty of Civil Engineering.
Possibilities of roman cements preparation by modification of limestone sludges
Petr, Jiří ; Koplík, Jan (referee) ; Opravil, Tomáš (advisor)
It is obvious that binders based on the portland clinker will still play the most important role in the building materials industry. Their high quality, the existence of standards and the affordability are the main reasons. Together with this there is of course an appreciable need for decreasing of energy consumption, carbon dioxide emissions and utilization of secondary raw materials. The roman cement is the possible answer to all of these requests. This historically experienced hydraulic binder, relatively less demanding for the quality of the raw material, is fired by the temperature below the sintering point and even though it does not achieve as good mechanical properties as the portland cement does, in some applications it could be re-established. This would ultimately lead to considerable savings both in the energy and the carbon dioxide emissions.
Cost optimization of the operational phase of buildings
Kleinerová, Jana ; Dostál, Jan (referee) ; Výskala, Miloslav (advisor)
The thesis discusses the operating costs and the possibilities for their optimization. Specifically, it focuses on one of the greatest possible operating costs and it's heating costs. In the first part of the thesis are defined in general expenses, the price and the production, operating costs, optimization of these costs, life cycle of buildings and technological methods to improve the thermal and technical properties of the object. Finally, the theoretical part describes the terms for calculating the energy performance of the building and the payback period, which evaluates the effectiveness of investments. The practical part is assessed according to specific building energy performance, and especially in terms of its demand for heating. The building is designed for six variants of insulation, which is again judged on their energy performance. Subsequently these measures for better thermal insulating properties of the object assessed according to their cost efficiency and return on investment of individual variants.
