The preparation and characterization of polymeric, enzymatically cleavable carriers for cancerostatic drugs

As the development of cancerostatic drugs progresses it is becoming necessary to contemplate the question of how to deliver these drugs, which themselves tend to exhibit carcinogenic properties, effectively and accurately to the affected tissues and thus to circumvent their destructive effects upon the healthy parts of the organism. One approach to delivering drugs selectively to cancerous tissues is to make use of some of the specific properties which these tissues tend to possess, one of which being the so-called enhanced permeability and retention effect (EPR effect). This effect, which will be further discussed within this thesis, allows for macromolecules that are too massive to pass from the bloodstream into healthy tissue, to exit the blood vessels of cancerous tissue and to accumulate there. Therefore, a drug molecule can specifically enter cancerous tissue along with a suitable macromolecule, to which it is conveniently attached. If, moreover, the given drug is connected to the carrier molecule via an enzymatically cleavable spacer, it is possible to make use of lysosomal proteases (such as cathepsin B, which is overexpressed in some cancer cells) in order to attain its detachment from the carrier molecule and its subsequent activation. Spiritual searching with salvia divinorum in Prague and its surroundings

This thesis is concerned in the topic of spiritual searching with Salvia divinorum. Prague and its surroundings have been chosen as the region of interest. Salvia divinorum is extremely potent hallucinogenic substance that can be applied through smoking of extracts or chewing of leaves. Even though prohibited in 2011 In the Czech Republic, the substance is easy to acquire even to this day. In the qualitative part of the research semi-structured interviews were conducted with the users of this plant to obtain information about Salvia divinorum and its relationship to spiritual searching. The analysis of the discourse in the interviews resulted in findings which point us to the conclusion that the experimentation with Salvia divinorum is indeed tightly bound with spiritual searching.

Defence year: 2013 Abstract Aims: The main aim of the thesis was the analysis of the amount of one week's physical activity (PA) of boys at adolescent age within regularly exercised PA. Methods: One week's routine PA was monitored by methodology which is based on measurement of the energy output, amount of steps and hops, and load intensity by ActiGraph GT3X accelerometer. Conclusions: The research showed that average daily amount of steps within selected group of young people was 9284. Furthermore, the research showed that the average energy output was significantly lower, i.e. 30% lower than the specified health limits. At the same time, the recommended values of PA of middle and higher intensity were surpassed. At the last part of the thesis, the results were compared with the health recommendations for particular age category and the specified hypotheses were then verified. Progressive Meshes

There are many highly detailed 3D objects in computer graphics today, which expect high-tech hardware equipment for rendering, storing or transmitting. One of many possible solutions of these problems is progressive mesh. It is a kind of representation of 3D objects, which can be real-time modified in sense of level of detail (LOD). Progressive meshes can also modify effectively their surface, and create geomorphs between two different levels of detail. Progressive transmitting and compressed storing are also possible with this feature.

This thesis describes principals of virtualization based on the Xen project. Text focuses mainly on putting system into service for purpose of it's subsequent use by ISPs. The goal of this work is also to explore the possible usages of virtualized systems based on the Xen by ISPs. One of these possibilities will be specified to the point when it will by usable or it will be able to be developed independently of author of this work. This work also designs and mostly implements system, which can be used as a base for wide spectrum of of services, when installing these services doesn't effect the rest of the system.

Cryptographic Protocols for CrypTool

This work is focused on cryptographic protocols and their implementation in the CrypTool. Goal of this work is to settle which cryptographics protocols are appropriate to implement and to find the way how to implement them most illustratively and usably for educational purposes. These protocols were chosen according to the work assigment: Dining Cryptograhpers, Coin Flippin and Zero-Knowledge. As other appropriate protocols were added: Yao´s Millionaire Problem and Oblivious Transfer. Detailed concept of chosen protocols and their implementation process are described in this work.

Comparison of Properties and Performance of Object Oriented Databases

In this thesis, the reader learns basic models, which are use for storing data in database sys- tems. Next I describe a way, how to store objects in Java Language and explain expressions like object-relational mapping, reflection and introspection. After that, I will introdice some of existing implementation, which are use for storing objects in Java. Next I will explain testing methodology and make benchmarks of various implementation. In the end I will analyze a results of these benchmarks.

Support for RADIUS Protocol in SSSD

Moderní trendy ve správě uživatelů ve firemních prostředích směřují k centralizovaným řešením jako je LDAP či Active Directory. Ověřování uživatelů vůči těmto úložištím v Unix-like systémech je dostupné buď přes PAM moduly, nebo nově i přes bezpečnostní démon SSSD. Tato práce analyzuje využití RADIUS protokolu pro ověřování uživatelů a v rámci práce byl vyvinut modul do SSSD umožňující využití tohoto protokolu.

Developer Support Tools for tevent Library

Práce se zabývá vytvořením návodu pro knihovnou tevent. Přiblížena je samotná koncepce knihovny a její možnosti spolu s ukázkami kódu, jak s knihovnou vhodně pracovat. Dále se práce zabývá rozšířením pro debuggery, jež bylo současně s touto prací vytvořeno a které umožňuje efektivnější práci s touto knihovnou. Zahrnuto je rovněž porovnání s konkurující knihovnou libevent.
