Overcoming Methods of Kid Reader Communication Barriers

Abstact This undergraduate thesis examines possible means of overcoming communication barriers appearing in interaction with young readers. First, the key terms such as communication, communication barriers, reader, and young reader are defined. Then, literacy and ways of supporting young readers' literacy development are discussed. Specific strategies to eliminate communication breakdowns between young readers, their parents, school and library staff are further explored. The research part of the thesis investigates interactions in a second grade reading environment through a case study. The thesis concludes with a brief summary of current issues and suggestions of how libraries could take an active part in improving communication with young readers.
The role of libraries and information institutions in the scholarly communication

(in English): The master thesis analyses the relationship between scholarly communication and libraries and information institutions in the Czech Republic on the basis of information received from research. Primarily it is focused on the promotion of science projects. At the beginning, scholarly communication and its three parts are defined - professional text, professional speech and promotion of science. The main part of the thesis is the research itself. The results of the research are described there and also the way of promotion of science in selected Czech libraries and information institutions. Furthermore, model projects promoting science in which libraries and information institutions participate are introduced. The final part describes the trends in scholarly communication and the possibilities of scholarly communication support available to libraries and information institutions, in particular the promotion of science [Author's abstract].

The aim of this diploma thesis is the inception, concept and performance of presentation the Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague on Facebook since the official launch on the 13th April 2011 to 31 March 2012. The thesis describes the key features of concept, composition of the team, collaboration with other parts of the Faculty of Arts and also the experience of interacting with fans and other presentations. The second part is devoted to a survey of selected communication tools used by the Faculty of Arts, which has been realized in order to determine the opinion of fans of presentation at the end of the first year of operation.

The Role of Information and Communication in Organisations Diagnostic Tools of Information and Communication Processes The thesis has the objective to explore the interaction of the terms information and communication in organizational settings, and to identify their common characteristics and direct mutual influence. By introducing settings with open and closed communication climates, and diagnostic tools of communication and information audits, the author highlights the mutual overlap of these terms. The first part of the thesis provides an introduction into the theoretical terms information and communication as used in the historical context of their mother disciplines, identifies their similarities and differences, and, most importantly, highlights the long-term intense overlap of these terms at various levels. The second part goes on to introduce the basic forms of organizational structures affecting information transfer, i.e. direction, speed and accuracy of formal and informal information flows in organizational communication networks. The bachelor thesis "Disinhibition forms and manifestation" focuses on the internet communication. Nowadays, mobile phones, Internet and other communication devices can use the Internet or your mobile phone to communicate for hours. Start of thesis deals with an introduction to the history of the Internet and cyberspace as an environment in which the Internet is. Then he deals with basic psychological aspects of communication in cyberspace. It represents a typical group of victims, and various methods of attack. It points out the advantages and disadvantages of Internet and social networks and their dangers, but also on the positive aspects of social networks and the Internet for young people. The bachelor thesis can be used as a source of information to all who are interested in communicating on the Internet. And as a further inspiration to those who explore this area of communication.
Social interaction of internet users described on the example of online music community

This bachelor thesis deals with the interaction between musicians and listeners on the internet. It describes selected communication tools of web 2.0, their benefits and drawbacks. The thesis is also concerned with the issue of self-presentation on the internet and the factors affecting it. Social communication on the internet is placed in the context of today's changing music industry. The thesis illustrates innovative usage of communication tools by musicians in six short case studies. The last part summarizes collected the findings of the research and offers an explanation as to why the social communication in music community will maintain its place in the future. Information flowing through informal communication channels in an organization

Thesis titled "Information flowing through informal communication channels in an Organization" discusses the basic issues and characteristics of the information as a result of informal communication channels in the organizations. Thesis defines the basic theoretical concepts and deals with a typology of communication channels within the organization. An important section is the chapter focusing on characteristics and mode of transmission of information flowing through the informal communication channels, in which is not presented only the informal structure of 5 relations, informal groups in the organization and communication networks, but also the most frequent occurrence of informal communication channels. The thesis also describes the advantages and disadvantages of this information. It also includes research based on an email-sent questionnaire. The aim of the analysis was the finding which the informal communication channels are the most widely used in the Municipal Library in Břeclav and what is the reason for their popularity.
The Information Control in the Information Channel on an Example of Gatekeeping Mechanism

This master thesis is devoted to the theoretical framework and the background for the information control in an information channel with a chapter on the specific form of control information, that is the gatekeeping mechanism. The practical part focuses on the research in the Christian community and to identify methods of gatekeeping mechanisms in this group. The second chapter introduces the key concepts of the thesis such as information theory. The third chapter summarizes the operation and types of censorship and information control process, and points out the signal noise in the transmission of an information. The fourth chapter describes the historical development and transformation in the understanding of gatekeeping, including the new concept of gatekeeping on the network level. The fifth chapter focuses on the dynamics of information control, especially for using in decision-making, knowledge sharing and gatekeeper's acting according to his type of behavior. The sixth and seventh chapter deals with the research itself, including the accompanying document, the determination of a methodology, a representative sample, etc.
Sharing of Information and Knowledge in Internal Organization Communication

The dissertation considers information and knowledge sharing in internal communication of organization. It describes the process of information and knowledge sharing and highlights the factors that have effect on it. Furthermore, the effect of information and communication technologies use on the process is discussed. Information and knowledge sharing among employees can be managed in particular by creating a favourable organizational climate, strengthening relations between employee and organization and motivating employees. Information and communication technologies enable this process by overcoming communication barriers, however their effect on sharing of information and knowledge is limited and depends on concrete tools [Author's abstract]. 5
