Anthracological and xylotomy analysis from prehistoric archaeological sites and its relationship to vegetation conditions
Prach, Martin ; Novák, Jan (advisor) ; Beneš, Jaromír (referee)
Xylotomy and anthracological analysis belong to fundamental paleoecological methods used mostly for reconstructing evolution of past wood vegetation. The point of this analysis is utilizing either charred or uncharred ancient wood material in the form of taxonomical determination of particular fragments, resulting in conclusions pointing towards reconstruction of species composition of past vegetation. In its first part, this work deals with brief introduction of the method, containing its short history, different methodological approaches and possible complications with final conclusions. The literature review part contains geographically sorted analysis of studies from continental Europe from Spain to Sweden, published mostly in english. Keywords: charcoal, wood, reconstruction of vegetation, archeology, anthracology
Forest vegetation in Eastern Elbe Basin in the mid-20th century and today
Pospíšková, Marie ; Hédl, Radim (advisor) ; Novák, Jan (referee)
This thesis describes the shift in vegetation of broadleaf forests in eastern part of the Elbe River Basin between 1958-1968 and 2011-2013. It emphasizes the understorey vegetation. From lowland woodlands in other temperate regions in Europe and North America changes towards eutrophic and mesophytic vegetation are documented, specifically driven by changes in forest management and by atmospheric depositions; in some localities the game impact can be also important. The data were obtained by sampling 190 typological semi-permanent plots, which were precisely located - in 43% the original soil pit was found. The vegetation on study sites shifted towards nutrient-demanding, shade- adapted species, it was partly ruderalized. These changes can be seen on the level of species and communities as well as on phytosociological level. Increase of soil pH and moisture was discovered using Ellenberg indicator values. The number of seedlings and cover of shrubs also increased significantly. Homogenization of sites was significant as well although total number of species and alpha- diversity remained unchanged. These changes are probably caused by changes in forest management and by atmospheric depositions of nitrogen. On subset of plots in game-preserves the vegetation also demonstrated eutrophication but no increase in...
The mathematical theory of perturbations in cosmology
Novák, Jan ; Pravda, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Scholtz, Martin (referee) ; Chopovsky, A. (referee)
We have been studying Cosmological Perturbation Theory in this thesis. There was presented the Standard General Relativity in higher dimensions. Then we used the apparatus of so called GHP formalism and this is a generalization of the well-known NP-formalism. Scalar perturbations in f(R)-cosmology in the late Universe is the final topic, which was a logical step how to proceed further and to continue in work where was shown that four-dimensional spacetimes are special. We get the potentials φ and ψ for the case of a box 150 Mpc. We used the so called mechanical approach for the case of a cosmological background. Our approach of getting these potentials is in observable Universe new. It is interesting also in the context of simulations in these, so called nonlinear theories. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Species diversity of dry basic habitats enclaves within forest environment in the Doksy region: effect of abiotic factors and historical land use
Martinec, Pavel ; Sádlo, Jiří (advisor) ; Novák, Jan (referee)
The primary aim of this thesis was to examine variables that explain species variety of dry bazic biotopes in forrest areas of Doksy landscape. The most important variables are geology, history of biotypes, existence of rock, amount of solar radiation, existence of land disturvation, declinationi and area of biotopy. By the PCNM methodoloby The thesis has examined also area related variables. Primary goal was to examine history related variable that explain 1,2% of the whole species diversity. The thesis distinguished special species with high inclination to historically stable biotopes and those, that are highly correlated with specific land use.The area covered with species-poor acidophilous pine forests on sandstone with isolated patches of basic bedrock with a species-rich flora. In total, 149 localities differing in history were studied. Some anthropogenic disturbances and local history. Main questions: What is the distribution pattern of patches with basiphilous flora and which environmental factors drive their species composition? How the historical land-use since the half of 19th century can influence the current species composition? How is the historical impact detected by functional species traits? Keywords: Secondary habitats, dry calcareous habitats, Pinus sylvestris, abandoned...
Evaluation of short-term effect of Extracorporeal shockwave therapy into muscular trriger points.
Novák, Jan ; Čech, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Vaculín, Šimon (referee)
Diplomová práce Hodnocení krátkodobého efektu aplikace rázové vlny na MTrP Abstract This thesis concerns the application of radial extracorporeal shockwave therapy into muscular trigger points. It's location is derived from the descending part of trapezius muscle on the side of the dominant upper extremity. The performance analysis is based on using partially double-blind placebo-controlled, randomized clinical trial. The effects of the therapy were investigated in 28 subjects divided into experimental and control groups and objectively manifested by measuring the pressure pain threshold. Furthermore, the measuring of the active range of motion of the cervical spine, and the measuring of the maximal voluntary wrist and third finger flexion (measured before and after the therapy). After the therapy, the pressure pain threshold value of the trigger point located in trapezius muscle increased on average from 199 to 295 kPa (p = 0,025). The cervical spine lateral flexion increased on average by 3 degrees towards to the side of non-dominant upper extremity (p = 0,045). This study also investigates the pressure pain threshold value changes of 7 reference points placed remotely from the area of the application. After the shockwave therapy, the pressure pain threshold values of these reference points increased on...
The comparison of two competitive programmes-112 in danger of life TV Nova and Private dramas on Prima Tv.
Novák, Jan ; Šoltys, Otakar (advisor) ; Dorčáková, Jana (referee)
The main topic of my thesis is a comparison of two investigative shows. The comparison is based on tv measurement which were published, for each show, by the television stations. I also used methods of narrative text as a guide through journalistic show same as Lubomír Doležel presented it in his work. I compared the conclusions that come up from the research with the analytical probe in which 86 participations took part. The aim of the work was to find a model of a successful show, so it would have the most perfect structure and it would the most attractive one for audience. Surely, I also focused on the character of the host and how important of an aspect the host is for the choice of the show.
