Experiences of gym members with Performance Enhancing Drugs

Title: Experiences of gym members with Performance Enhancing Drugs. Objectives: The aim of the diploma work is to explore the prevalence of doping in two particular fitness centres, to specify the most used doping substances, frequency and form of using, way of acquiring and to define reasons leading gym members to using these substances. No less important goal of the work is to find out the most reported benefits resulting from using doping as well as the most reported negative side effects. Methods: The main method used in the research is a questionnaire survey that is divided into three sections. The goal of the survey is to assess aspects of using performance enhancement drugs amongst gym members. Results: We found that 8% of the respondents reported positive experience with anabolic steroids as well as 5,3% of the respondents with diuretics and 3,7% of the respondents reported that they have used growth hormones. The most common substances are nandrolone and stanozolole (53,3%) followed by oxandrolone and testosterone (46,7%). Except these doping substances respondents mentioned methandienone, trenbolone, oxymetholone, clenbuterol, dianabol and boldenone. Artist's journey: a biographical analysis of the development of students of art

The goal of the bachelor thesis is to analyze the development of the artistic talent. First, the thesis deals with the psychological and historical aspects of art and the world of the artist. Second, the thesis reflects current theories concerned with talent using two multidimensional models of the talent. After studying these concepts, the topic of the art and talent is connected through one of the multidimensional models which is further used as theoretical framework for the practical part. In the practical part of the bachelor thesis the case studies of four young artists are introduces and analyzed. The most important finding is that in the life of the artist, impact of family is very essential. It has been shown that the ideal conditions for developing artistic talent is in the early childhood. Parents should support their children while providing them with freedom in the environment build on values rather than strict rules. Socio-economic aspects of physical activities for seniors in Prague

Title: Socio-economic aspects of physical activities for seniors in Prague Objectives: The aim of study was to find out what are the socioeconomic aspects of walking and other physical activities Prague's population of seniors. Specifically find answers to questions, whether regular walk in this population affect the quality of life in old age, if those people bring motion standard from earlier stages of life, what are their motives for periodic walking, if they operate other physical activities than walking and whether is there a coherent categories of pedestrians. Methods: In this thesis were used quantitative and qualitative research methods. The source of quantitative analysis was the questionnaire WHOQOL OLD with a complementary inquiry on walking. The sample consisted of 156 respondents and was divided equally between pedestrians and non-pedestrians. There were used methods of descriptive statistics and statistical hypothesis testing. For qualitative analysis was with a part-respondents (pedestrians) made an interview, investigating their socioeconomic status, the motives for carrying out walking and other activities, and also was made their segmentation. Tales of double exceptionality - a qualitative study of gifted students with learning disabilities

At present, there is a growing interest in the theme of giftedness and gifted students. However, newer and less familiar theme is the theme of gifted children and students with disabilities called "double exceptionality". The theoretical part focuses on describing the theme of giftedness, some theories and models of giftedness, highly specific field and problems of gifted children and students with learning disabilities, eventually with other handicaps too. In the empirical part of this thesis the aim is to present specific expressions, the link with development and influences of educational approach to children and students through casuistries. This data should be a practical replenishment of mapped psychological problems of gifted children and students with handicap that the theoretical part of the thesis deal with.
Tales of scientific talent - a qualitative study of the development of gifted young adults

The present bachelor's thesis focuses on the problems of gifted students, specifically on the students gifted in natural sciences. Methodologically, it represents a qualitative multiple-case study in which I explored in detail educational careers of four cases, i.e. individual students gifted in science. In the theoretical part, I introduced the basic concepts and theories of giftedness. In the following empirical part I conducted semi-structured interviews with the participants which were subsequently processed by thematic analysis. The main goal of the study is to analyze the factors that may shape the development of the scientific talent. I strive to understand the meaning, which the talent acquired in the lives of researched individuals and how it influenced their perspective of their future professional careers.
Tales of musical talent - a qualitative study of development of professional musicians

Subject of this bachelor study is a development of the professional musicians. In the study, three interviews with the professional musicians were accomplished and later they were analysed. The main aim of the study is to assess the aspects, which the professional musicians consider important and decisive for their up to date development and for their future carrier on the field of music. It is also important to point out the barriers, which they had to break within their development and try to approach the perspective future life of professional musicians. Study is devided into two parts - theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part is focused on musical talent and its exploring. A part is dedicated to musical instruments and researches connected with this topic. The theoretical part also mentions important and optimal aspects for the talent development and studies focused on researches of professional musicians. The empirical part includes a description of a conducted survey, its methodology, the process of the survey and a brief exploratory sample and an interview analysis. Dysfunctional family environment from the perspective of an adolescent

The diploma thesis deals with adolescents who grew up in a dysfunctional family environment. The content of the literary-review part of the diploma thesis will be devoted to dysfunctional family systems in which the basic needs of the child are not met. It will also address the key areas of development for understanding the child's experience within individual ages of development up to adolescence. Attention will also be paid to coping strategies and child support resources during development. The research survey will consider the qualitative design, which will take place through an interview with the help of adolescents. The target group will be adolescents who grew up in a dysfunctional family environment. The aim of this research will be to describe the experience of adolescents in dysfunctional family systems. Thanks to the research part, the elaboration of this diploma thesis can be a tool for understanding the feelings and experiences of children who grew up in this environment. It can thus be applied in working with adolescents, but also with the parents of these children. At the same time, it can be a source for the prevention of mental decompensation and the possible development of more serious mental problems. Attitudes and motivation towards sport betting in young people

Title: Attitudes and motivations of young people towards sport betting Objectives: To find out which factors significantly influence sport betting in young Czechs between the age of 18 and 30. Methods: Due to the quantitative nature of the research, the only used method was electronic survey. The survey was based on the theory of planned behaviour. It primarily sought information on independent variables (predictors) within this theory, which are attitudes, subjective norm and perceived control (in connection with sport betting). This part was adopted from a similar previous research. The intention and behaviour of the respondents as response variables were also surveyed in order to describe the relationships between independent and response variables. The sample consisted of 122 respondents, mostly active betters. Statistical methods such as correlation and regression analysis were used, followed by a final path analysis, which provided a model visualizing the relationships between the crucial variables. Results: All of the examined predictors within the theory of planned behaviour influence the intention to bet - the values are 0,241 for attitudes, 0,335 for subjective norm and -0,410 for perceived control. This bachelor thesis titled Coping Strategies in Bikini Fitness Competition discusses one of the contemporary phenomena in the female bodybuilding category - Bikini Fitness. This category is continuously increasing in popularity within girls and women of different age ranges and levels of experience mainly due to the growing influence of the current social trends and media. Considering the combination of the physical and modelling requirements with the requirement of preservation of femininity, Bikini Fitness can be seen as a rather specific category. The author of this qualitative-oriented thesis mainly focuses on the assessment of the competitor's motivation, experience, and the subjectively perceived challenges rendered within the category and the respective coping strategies. Moreover, the author examines the competitor's functioning during particular periods of the contest season in regards to family, employment, study and social life demands. This examination leads to the identification of different approaches and methods adopted by the competitors and their subsequent comparison which highlights their effectiveness or ineffectiveness and the potential consequences.
