Use of CRM Systems in the Management of the ALUMNI Network at the Law Faculty of the Charles University (case study)

This thesis examines the potential use of CRM systems to create, manage, and expand the alumni network of public university faculty in a case study. Alumni care is an area with great potential for overall faculty growth. The paper first focuses on the reasons leading to alumni interest and the patterns of alumni loyalty. To maintain and develop a good relationship with alumni, the application of a CRM system appears to be an useful aid. These are described in the thesis not only in terms of their basic functioning but also in the context of the university environment. The thesis also concentrates on innovations in student care using information systems and the selection of suitable CRM system suppliers. Practical section of this paper contents a case study conducted at the Faculty of Law of Charles University. The output of this work is to determine the assumptions, benefits and risks of CRM systems implementation for the purpose of alumni care at this faculty. Recommendations for improving communication between the faculty and its future and current alumni are also presented. Given its practical focus, the findings of the paper can serve as a basis for future development of a strategy for alumni care by selected university's fakulty.
The role of the information specialist in the governmental administration institutions

The aim of the diploma thesis is to describe the basic characteristics and basic analysis of the information profession of the Czech Republic in the sphere of state administration and state- controlled information institutions. Some space of the work is devoted to the characteristics of public and state administration. The diploma thesis emphasizes the institutions of state administration and their division. The following chapter deals with information institutions and information folders in the state administration and their categorization. The core of the thesis is the definition of the concept of an information specialist. The final chapter summarizes not only the overview of the information science study in the Czech Republic but also the analysis of the professional application of Information Studies and Librarianship graduates in the state administration institutions.
Analysis of personal data processing processes at the Local Municipality Authority of Praha-Vinoř

This thesis proposes practical solution for to the current issue, that is personal data protection by the General Data Protectinon Regulation (GDPR) in processes oconducted at particular workspace. This workspace is the Local Municipality Authority of Praha-Vinoř. The aim of the thesis is detection of personal data in particular processes and the legality of such processing. In this research it was necessary to define the term of personal data, because the regulation norm itself defines it relatively vaguely. For this definition matrix instrument was used. For detection of personal data in processes conducted at particular workspace, the legality of such instance, but also for the survey of relations between processes Business System Planning method developed by IBM Corporation was used. Research detected instance of personal data, which means that processing of them took place, and the legality of such processing. At the same time it was possible to describe relations among other elements of this environment. As the methodology as well as research results are applicable in context of technical measures regulation, and also for internal regulation of personal data processing.
Trends in Enterprise Information Systems with Emphasis on CRM Systems

The intention of this master thesis is the presentation of the selected trends in CRM information systems. The opening part is aimed at management of customer relationships, which are analysed in terms of marketing and ICT technologies. This part also introduces the readers to the architecture of CRM information systems and to possible ways of implementing of these solutions. Moreover, it presents some vendors of CRM solutions that are leaders on the market. The following part is solely focused on the trends in CRM information systems. These trends are primarily related to cloud computing, social CRM and the internet of things. The next part of this thesis applies the findings from the previous chapters in a practical way. It deals with a creation of the request for a new CRM solution in an actual company from SME segment. The introduction of this chapter presents the chosen enterprise and analyses the current state of CRM and ICT in this company. The next part defines expected goals and the main requirements for a new CRM solution in the company. The conclusion of this part is focused on the choice of suitable vendors who will be asked for proposal and the evaluation criteria of the bid. Information Support of Project Teams

The aim of the diploma thesis is to outline the possibilities of information support of project teams by an Informational Specialist. The theoretical part introduces different project management methodologies and further specifies the individual project phases as seen by PMBoK methodology. In the chapters focusing on each of the phases of a project, all necessary input sources as well as all output documents that are essential for the project to move on to its next phase are defined and elaborated on. This part is followed by a description of possibilities of information support for working with information sources and creating output documents with regard to competencies, which an Information Specialist should have. Key in this respect is the third and the fourth chapter, including specific proposals on the possibility of information support of a project team by an Information Specialist. The practical part is focused on the role of an Information Specialist in the implementation of a specific project in a company - in particular, a major financial institution on the Czech market. While the theoretical part is based on the study of literature, the practical part is mainly based on personal consultation with a Project Manager of the company.
Cloud Computing in Public Sector - Benefits and Risks

(anglicky) This thesis deals with benefits and risks of using cloud computing in public sector institutions. The thesis focuses mainly on the usage of public cloud deployment model. The thesis is divided into 4 main chapters. The first chapter presents definition and basic characteristics of cloud computing. The second part consists of PESTL analysis that describes the impact of macro-environmental factors (namely political, economical, social, technological and legal factors) on the use of cloud computing in public sector institutions. The third part presents SWOT analysis of cloud computing and its use in public sector. The fourth chapter presents a case study of the implementation of cloud computing services at The Faculty of Arts of the Charles University. The results of the conducted analysis tend to positive effects of cloud computing use in public sector institutions, presuming a proper risk analysis is done before implementation begins. Basic population register in relation to administration information systems: Data sharing in public administration Czech republic

The work analyzes the current status of the basic population register in relation to agenda information systems. The theoretical part is focused on basic registers in general with a particular attention being paid to the population register. The analytical part examines in detail the current status of all configured and implemented processes that have a direct impact on the functionality of the basic population register in relation to agenda information systems and subsequent data sharing in the public administration of the Czech Republic. Attention is focused on the use and provision of reference data through Web services and information system of basic registers. The paper also analyzes the various approaches of agenda information systems of public authorities to basic Population Register and the implementation of sub-projects that have a direct impact on its operation. Evaluation of individual areas assessed is done using a statistical survey.
HMI user assessment methods in automotive environment. Case study.

The thesis focuses on the topic of benefits and limitations of various HMI user assessment methods. In the theoretical part of the thesis there is introduced the HMI theory, summarized HMI user assessment methods, presented knowledge about their utilization and the available tools are mapped. The goal of the practical part is testing of selected HMI user assessment methods related to the requirements of the commercial automotive sector. The result of practical part is a comparison of the strengths and weaknesses of individual approaches and their specifics. The diploma thesis was prepared in accordance with the valid internal regulations of the Charles University and other methodological guidelines and normative documents. The influence of self-tracking on the motivation to physical activity and behavior of the group

This bachelor thesis deals with self-tracking, that implies practice of collecting, recording and analyzing data about oneself through digital technologies. The aim of this thesis is to describe the user's experience of self-tracking and the impact of motivation to the physical activity and behavior. The theoretical part brings insight to the social-psychology part of this problem and feature of the specific self-tracking device Fitbit including its mobile application. The results of the qualitative research are presented in the practical part. This research was performed by structured interviews with a six-member group, who do self-tracking by Fitbit devices.
Information support in financial institution

(anglicky) This thesis entitled Information support in a financial institution discusses how information services and resources are currently used internally in an institution focusing on the Czech banking environment. The reader is thus provided an insight directly into the organization and the position it takes towards working with information aiming at fulfilment of its employees' information needs. The thesis also reflects description of the most important information sources. Information needs of employees were analyzed and identified based on their frequency of occurrence and distribution across the bank. The following part of the work covers detailed identification of information services. The reader is hereby given the opportunity to find out where, by whom and to what extent the services are used. The conclusion deals primarily with the information models of the flow of information in the organization and the analysis of various entities affecting the relevant processes.
