Davídková, Šárka ; Svobodová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Liška, Roman (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the obstacles to self-evaluation of primary and secondary school teachers. The aim of the diploma thesis was to find out whether there are any subjectively perceived obstacles that could prevent primary and secondary school teachers in the process of self-evaluation of their working performance. Next aim was to describe such obstacles, find out where they come from and propose measures in order to remove them. The theoretical part is based on the study of professional literature and other available sources. It introduces the basic concepts of the issue, describes the profession of a teacher and shows how self-evaluation is anchored in our legislation. From the point of view of the need for a detailed insight into the issue, qualitatively oriented research and the focus group method have been chosen. The analysis of the obtained data is inspired by the method of grounded theory. The obtained data were first coded and then isolated into categories. Each of the categories has been divided into subcategories for the sake of greater clarity. Through the analysis the four categories were created: the context of the profession, barriers on the teacher's side, lack of support and specific barriers. Impact of the Application of the Quality Management Systems on the Satisfaction of the Students of Secondary Vocational Schools
Liška, Roman ; Veteška, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Chvál, Martin (referee) ; Švec, Václav (referee)
The subject of the dissertation is the issue of school quality, resp. quality management systems used by secondary vocational schools in the Czech Republic. The use of these customer-oriented quality management systems is common abroad, in some countries even mandatory. According to the available information, these systems are not widely used in the Czech Republic, their use in the education sector is not registered. The aim of the work was to evaluate and compare the impact of the most frequently used systems (self- assessment framework CAF, EFQM and ISO standards: 9001) on the student's satisfaction and their attitudes to school. An experimental, exploratory and ex-post-factual study was carried out in 2020 using a standardized questionnaire developed by the Institute for Pedagogy and Adult Education at Leibniz Universität Hannover. The questionnaire has been used since 2011 to assess student's satisfaction and the quality of vocational secondary schools in Lower Saxony. Through factor analysis, the questionnaire was divided into three main and five sub-indices. The questionnaire was piloted on a sample of 741 respondents in a Prague secondary vocational school. The data collection itself was carried out at 21 secondary vocational schools of various sizes and founders, with the exception of one...
Career system of teachers in the Slovak Republic
Liška, Roman ; Trojan, Václav (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to assess the contribution of the career system of Slovak teachers from the perspective of school principals. The theoretical part deals with the definition of the career system based on a literature research. Firstly, preconditions of the career system are defined. Secondly, the career system is described in detail, followed by its evaluation and comparison with the upcoming Czech career system. The practical part describes the used qualitative methods and approaches and includes findings from the field research. A multiple conn-Dove study was used to solve the research problem, in which the case is represented by ten principals from various schools. Semi-structured interviews with school principals, observing their interactions and document analysis were used for data collection. The result of the research was to create ten idiographic reports reflecting school principals' practical experience with the career system. Findings show significant dissatisfaction among school principals with the conception and implementation of the career system due to the administrative complexity of the system, its formalism, the lack of resources in the system and the lack of provided methodological support to school principals. Standards of the concept of developing high school
Vogelová, Petra ; Kitzberger, Jindřich (advisor) ; Liška, Roman (referee)
The standards of high school development conceptions are examined in this Bachelor's thesis by analyzing a set of particular parameters and their role in drawing up "school development conceptions" in a geographically limited area. The objective of this work is to analyze and evaluate the various approaches taken by the individual directors of selected secondary schools in their endeavor to devise the ideal conception for the secondary schools under their auspices. The common denominators of the conceptions and determinant parameters like the seniority, the attitudes of the directors, the degree of their involvement in the implementation of the conceptions, the different utilization of information resources, and the number of conceptions already designed, and their age, are identified. Comparative analysis of the data acquired and collected by the means of field research is applied to arrive the conclusion that the particular approaches are very different from case to case, however, there appears to be just an insignificant correlation with the seniority of the creators. The devised methodology can be applied on other subjects of interest in other geographical locations or for other types of educational institutions.
