Teacher competencies

This diploma thesis deals with adult teacher competencies. It describes current situation in adult education and it focuses on measuring quality level of teacher competencies. There is given the main overview of adult education specifics. These are the prerequisites for defining adult teacher competencies. There is given specific adult teacher competencies and related roles which are generally based on teacher's activities during educational courses. Next part describes present conception of teacher's competencies. These theories and presented model of roles are accepted as basis of establishment of classification of adult teacher competencies with emphasis on participant of educational process. Survey of adult teacher competencies was focused on three groups of respondents (participants, teachers, ordering party) and it determines the importance of competencies described in classification. Workers's adaptation in a small organization

Dissertation deals with an analysis of an adaptation process in a small organization. It handles placing of the adaptation process into a context of human resources activities. Individual areas of the adaptation are specified - working adaptation, social adaptation and adaptation to a company culture. Also aims of the adaptation, factors influencing the process of adaptation in the company, planning and management of the adaptation are specified. The process of adaptation, elements and tools used during creation of the adaptation process are described. The dissertation includes the survey analyzing the process of adaptation in small organizations and describes the specifics identified.
Concept of Age Management in Organizations in the Czech Republic

This diploma thesis summarises current approaches to age management, or human resources management taking in account the age and skills of employees in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part of this paper deals with the background of this concept, describes the present demographical development, its consequences in the labour field, and the problem of aging population which is visible in the need to adapt applied management strategies in organisations to this trend. There are mentioned several programmes, thoughts, and legislative measures on which the newest concepts and strategic plans in Europe and the Czech Republic are based. The empirical part of the thesis focuses on a specific level of organisations, and consists of two surveys. The first one is a comparative case study for which data were collected in two organisations which have recently implemented measures stemming from age management strategies. These measures are then specified and confronted with the statements of the employees who, in semi-structured interviews with the author, talked about the changes that were put into practice under the concept of age management, and about the discrimination of persons over 50 years of age on the labour market. Coaching as a tool for leading people

2 Abstract This thesis submitted focuses on coaching as a style of leading people. The thesis analyzes the fundamental principles and tools of professional coaching which are subsequently interpreted from the perspective of their possible use in managerial practice with all benefits and potential difficulties. Due to its specificity, I deal with the role of the manager-coach as well. Given the focus of the thesis, I first dealt with the definition of coaching as such without any detailed specification, and with its possible use. I used the gained information for defining the managerial coaching in the context of leading people. In the second chapter I concentrated on coach and manager-coach as a person, their characteristics and competence which are necessary for coaching. In the third and fourth chapter I mainly dealt with coaching tools and their use in managerial practice. Finally, the thesis compares the results of an international research with the author's questionnaire survey, from the viewpoint of the use of coaching in organizations in the Czech Republic and world scale. Training of employee's in an organization with high fluctuation

Bachelor thesis deals with the efficient education of employees, if the organization is in a high turnover rate. It deals with the question of whether it makes sense in such an organization to educate employees and if so, what the most appropriate manner. The aim of this work is the analysis of the current situation to help identify the most effective education system, which would partly help reduce turnover. The influence of interculturality in communication of employees in organization

The work deals with the cultures and its impact on communication of the organization. It focuses on the influence of cultural background and personality related to the specifics of communication between workers and managers communicate with employees. Attention is focused on the differences in the behavior of workers from different cultural environment, the importance of specific knowledge of other cultures to overcome differences and optimal cooperation in intercultural environments. The issue of interculturality and its impact on communication between workers in an organization is viewed primarily in terms of personnel management and the work also deals with the different approaches to the management of the group of countries.
Burnout

This Thesis deals with the issue of the burnout syndrome and with relationship between burnout syndrome and social support. The aim of this work is based on knowledge from the literature and from experience of clinical psychiatrists to assess the significance of social support for individuals suffering from the burnout syndrome. In the Thesis, there are first defined terms burnout syndrome and social support. Consequently, there are presented the most important knowledge of social support, its components, functions and impact on the individual. Then, the Thesis identifies the main cause of burnout - the stress. It defines its main levels as well as stimuli that cause it, discusses the symptoms of stress, follows its development and consequences and analyzes the ways to cope with the burnout syndrome. Furthermore, the Thesis describes the development of burnout, characterizes the symptoms and personal dispositions that facilitate its formation and development. The Thesis focuses on professions that are vulnerable to formation and development of the burnout syndrome and contains a case report of an individual who has recently suffered by the burnout syndrome. The issue of discrimination in the work procedure

The theme of the thesis is the current and debated issue of discrimination in the wok procedure. Although the Czech Republic has already implemented the applicable European legislative requirements in its national law and the concept of non-discrimination is - from the labor-law perspective - sufficient, frequent cases of differential treatment and discrimination still exist. The thesis focuses on equal treatment and discrimination in both selected Czech legislative documents and the legislation of the European Community. It focuses in more detail on gender discrimination (the most common form of discrimination) followed by the institutional security of equal treatment, difference in pay between men and women, labor market segregation, the issue of reintegration of women and men into the workplace after maternity or parental leave, representation of women in managerial positions, discrimination against elderly women and sexual harassment in the work environment. Part of the thesis also focuses on possible approaches to solve these problems such as harmonization between work and private life, the company's social responsibility, and Diversity and Age Management.
Planning and managing of training and development of people working in organization

Nowadays, the lifelong leaming and especially the continuing professional education has become increasingly important as a key instrument of the employment and the flexibility of individuals in the labor market. Not only the labor market, but also the ability to live in this world full of changes leads to the necessity of the lifelong leaming. Almost every organization has already been aware of the necessity of the training and development of its employees. It has a main importance for its continued profitable operation. The responsibility lies primarily in its planning, the management and the control of the personnel activities. Many companies are becoming "leaming organizations". In this environment, all people can leam and develop in the work process. Moreover, they can leam and develop mutually. Education as an element of improving quality of seniors life

The topic of this bachelor work is education and its influence on quality of life of seniors. This work consist of four theoretical parts. The first chapter consist of information about quality of life and about the influences on quality of life. In the second chapter, I put my mind on characteristic of human aging, on its proces and effects and aspects of ageing. The third chapter gives basic information about lifelong learning and also equally on seniors prepare for retirement. The last fourth chapter describes geragogy as the art and science of teaching old people. This chpter also offers overview of educational oppurtunities for seniors. Also give information about possibility of education at Universities of the Third Age in Slovak Republic - condition for admission to study and also some activities and mission of Universities of the Third Age.
