Line start synchronous machine
Kaczmarczyk, Ruben ; Mach, Martin (referee) ; Klíma, Jiří (advisor)
This work deals with explanation of the construction of a line start synchronous machine. Furthermore, the calculation of the asynchronous machine is made on the basis of the production documentation. The analytical calculation is done in the RMxprt program, then the calculations of both methods are compared. In addition, rotor adjustment of the specified asynchronous motor is performed, including the insertion of permanent magnets into the rotor. Ansys Maxwell program then optimizes and analyzes the engine, and also checks engine's start-up. Finally, the results are compared and summarized.

Recent promising treatments for Huntington’s disease (HD) may require pre-clinical testing in large animals. In 2009, we generated HD transgenic (TgHD) minipigs with one copy encoding the N-terminal part (548 aa) of human huntingtin (HTT) with 124 CAG/CAA repeats integrated into chromosome 1 q24-q25. The successful germ line transmission occurred through four successive generations.
Oxidative stress in primary porcine fibroblasts expressing mutated huntingtin
Šmatlíková, Petra ; Askeland, G. ; Vaškovičová, Michaela ; Klíma, Jiří ; Motlík, Jan ; Eide, L. ; Ellederová, Zdeňka
Molecular events, such as protein aggregation, mitochondrial dysfunction, and transcriptional dysregulation have been linked to Huntington’s disease (HD) pathogenesis. Oxidative stress has been considered as one of the key players in disease progression. Though, it is still not clear whether oxidative stress causes HD, or if it is a consequence of other primary events.
Mitochondrial phenotype in minipig model transgenic for N-terminal part of human mutated huntingtin

Huntington’s disease (HD) is neurodegenerative disorder caused by an abnormal expansion of CAG repeat encoding a polyglutamine tract of huntingtin (htt). It has been postulated that mitochondria dysfunction may play significant role in the pathophysiology of the HD. But it is still not known yet in detail how mitochondria are able to cover energy needs of the cells during the progression of the HD.
Investment in the British colonies in Africa and their impact on the postcolonial economic situation
Nosková, Jana ; Stojanov, Robert (advisor) ; Klíma, Jan (referee)
Colonialism as a world phenomenon, as we know it, appeared with the advent of modern times. Its prosperity was made possible by technological advances. Colonialism in its original form almost does not exist, however it is still "alive" in its reference. The post-colonial lands still bear a variety of heritage from that time. The main objective of this work is to find out whether investments in colonies from the times of colonial rule in Great Britain can influence the state of their economies after independence, and whether this influence may last until the present. The thesis answers the following research questions: (i) Do colonial investments have an impact on the postcolonial economies of the former British colonies, represented by GDP per capita and GDP per area? (ii) Do colonial investments have an impact on the development of postcolonial economies of the former British colonies, represented by GDP growth per capita? (iii) And what criteria were distributed by British colonial investments? The method used to determine the dependence between the above variables is the calculation of the Spearman correlation coefficient. For its calculation, unique historical data on colonial investments was used. The analysis shows that the amount of investment relative to the population of the colonies...
The history of science in the seventeenth century: Science, Religion and Priest Valentim Estancel S.J.
Rego Monturil, Frederico Guilherme ; Binková, Simona (advisor) ; Štěpánek, Pavel (referee) ; Klíma, Jan (referee)
This thesis aims to discuss the History of Science in the Modern Age. It is a historical- philosophical reflection on the relationship between Science and Religion in the seventeenth century through the trip, works and life of the Czech mathematician, astronomer and Jesuit priest Valentin Stancel in Moravia, Bohemia, Italy, Portugal and Brazil . This study seeks to redimension the participation of the priests of the Society of Jesus in the development of the modern era by higlighting the activity of the Jesuit priests in the political-religious and scientific transformations that occurred in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries in Europe, in the Orient and in Portuguese America. The present study aims to reflect on the scientific discoveries of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, especially in the fields of mathematics and astronomy; the new conception of man and world that springs from the political and religious transformations of reformist thought and cultural renaissance; the shock of the new scientific theories and experiences with the Sacred Scriptures and consequently with Christian-Aristotelian scholastic theology; besides contesting the lack of participation of priests, or even religion, in contributing for the development of science. The timeframe of the work takes place primarily...
Possibilities of improving efficiency of high-speed electrical machine
Nevrzal, Filip ; Mach, Martin (referee) ; Klíma, Jiří (advisor)
First part of this bachelor´s thesis briefly presents basic construction and principle of induction machine, distribution and description of individual losses. In the next part, there is a close look at the measurement of given machine. Next, there is a description of making a model in RMxprt and subsequent comparison of simulated data and characteristics to measured data. Last part describes and compares proposed changes of this motor simulated in RMxprt.
An Application with HAWK Controller
Klíma, Jaroslav ; Štohl, Radek (referee) ; Jirgl, Miroslav (advisor)
The target of this bachelor’s thesis is to execute a connection between the HAWK controller by the Centraline/Honeywell company and crane models through the MODBUS/TCP communication protocol, including a demonstration of its functionality and creating a visualisation. Programmable machines SIEMENS S7-1200 were used to control the models. The first part of the thesis is dedicated to describing the HAWK controller and its communication options in its basic configuration. The second part is dedicated to the most utilized functions and terminology of the COACHAX development environment thanks to which the MODBUS communication is executed and a demonstration application is created. The practical part first offers a basic exercise to demonstrate the communication of a programmable machine and the HAWK controller through MODBUS/TCP and then an application which creates a shell system surface, unlike the programmable machines, and offers advanced options of controlling the model and formation of basic functional statistics.
Electromagnetic finite element modelling of electrical machines using open-source tools
Žíla, Jakub ; Klíma, Jiří (referee) ; Bárta, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with electromagnetic computation by opensource softwares. The simulation of three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor is made using opensource programs. Results of simulations are compared with professional software ANSYS Maxwell and with measurements on the machine. All softwares in this thesis use the finest element method for a computation.
