Ethical dilemmas in assertive care.
Spálenková, Michaela ; Fischer, Ondřej (advisor) ; Janečková, Hana (referee)
In my diploma thesis I focus on assertive care for people with mental illness, which is a comprehensive service in the field. The term "assertive care" refers to the ways in which professional care is provided, which is characterized by the fact that it takes place in the community and that it also includes, to a certain extent, taking responsibility for the person. I think about man and human dignity and what the respect for man means. I deal with the basic concepts of man as a helping worker and a person who draws help. The focus of my work is the description of approaches to man, which focus primarily on man in his uniqueness with his specific wishes and needs in life. At the same time, I show how the Center for Mental Health can be a benefit for a person in a practical description of his service. In my work I rely on humanity, respect for a man and human dignity, biblically and philosophically rooted. The ethical dilemmas elaborated in the practical part of the work are a consequence of the right to esteem and respect for a person and the dilemmas lead the person to looking for special solutions for a unique person in his/her specific situation and for acting in an advantageous and valuable way for him. 1 Name of paper / Name of work The implementation of social services quality standards in residential facilities for elderly people - Ethical aspects Abstract The changes in the approach to the clients and adjustments of the run of the facility to their needs are one of the biggest long-term challenges for the service providers. The basis for the correct setting of all the parameters of service (process, personnel and operating) are standards in the quality of social services which involve certain principles and ethical values altogether. One of the essential tools in the changes in approach to clients is the principle of individualization of care, which can be achieved by setting the services to each client individually so that the service provided reflects their real need as much as possible. This dissertation focuses on the individualization of care as a significant indicator in the changes of approach to clients. We tried to figure how the individualization of care reflects in the attitudes of organizations to implement quality standards and how it affects the worker's personality and chosen organizational aspects. An interim goal of this paper was also to identify the ethical aspects which can accompany the introduction of quality standards into practice. We have chosen a method of quantitative...

Neighbour in the parables of Luke as motivation for social work with seriously mentally impaired persons
Bačová, Libuše ; Roskovec, Jan (advisor) ; Janečková, Hana (referee)
The present thesis connects two areas of studies: social work and theology. It gathers findings gained in social work targeted to people with mental handicap (with special focus on those with heavy forms of mental handicap), findings from socio-psychological studies of human motivation, and from theological analysis of the Gospel of Luke and its parables, and subsequently it endeavours to interconnect these findings. It pursues therein the question of utilising theological knowledge in forming motivation for engagement in social work. The focusing element of this interdisciplinary thesis is the theologically profiled concept of neighbour, which is eventually brought into relation with motivation to perform social work with the mentioned focus group.
