The personality of Williiam Randolph Hearst

The Bachelor work deals with the life and work ol' the prominent media mogul W. R. Hearst who lived in the second half of the 19th and beginning of thc 20th century. It delivers answers regarding his approach to press, to journalistic work and summarizes his contribution to further development of journalism. Hearst's life journey is followcd fom his early childhood through adulthood. Other important people surrounding Hearst and influencing his further development are also introduced in this work. Hearst is not pictured here only as an unapproachable media personality, but also as a human being who errs and succeeds . As part of the work, the historic era and the introduction into life in local society are treated. What follows is a mapping of journalism during that time and mcntion of the most significant figures. An important part of thc work is Hearst's career in newspapers, which details his entry into journalism and follows his further steps in media markets. The next part focuses on his building of a media empire in the contcxt of historic and cultural events. The final part mentions media mogul R. Murdoch, who compares his work in the press with W. R. Hearst's. The Baehelor work summarizes Hearst's eontribution to journalism and brings a new angle to his personality.
Copyright legislation of the Czech republic

In this digital age we meet copyrighted contents on a daily basis and we often work with them and use them for different purposes. Lack of knowledge about the copyright legislation may often lead to complications, sanctions and sometimes may end up at court. The aim of this thesis is to describe the legislation of copyright in the Czech Republic. Main parts of this thesis are supposed to describe the development of copyright legislation (mainly twentieth century), including international treaties, which have influenced the copyright legislation and also to describe the current copyright legislation in the Czech Republic. Particularly with focus on author's work, author, copyright, exceptions and limitations to copyright, rights related to copyright and collective management of rights. For the purpose of both aims I have just described I have used the official legislation and appropriate publications about the topic. Another aim of this thesis is to mention the problematics of copyright regulation of copyrighted contents shared through the Internet, where I have used works of recognized professors, who had been focusing on this topic for years. Protection of Crime Victims and the Media: Publishing of Mistreatrd Chidren Information before and after Passing the Law of Criminal Procedure Amendment in 2009

The thesis Protection of Crime Victims and the Media: Publishing of Mistreated Children Information before and after Passing the Law of Criminal Procedure Amendment in 2009 deals with the problem of secondary victimization caused by the media. More specifically, it focuses on the mistreated children and publishing that kind of information about them which enable their identification. It is concerned with the nationwide daily press and compares the situation before and after passing the Law of Criminal Procedure Amendment in 2009. This amendment introduced measures towards better privacy protection of crime victims with a special respect to underage victims and victims of some exceptionally serious crimes. The thesis compares the occurrence of information which enable identification of mistreated children in 2008 and 2011 in the three most popular nationwide dailies - Mlada fronta Dnes, Pravo and Blesk. It is interested in the following information: names and surnames of the victims and their family members, residence location, photos of the victims, their family members and their residence location. Apart from that it also examines where journalists get those information and photos from. Legal regulation of the product placement a its utilization by the czech television

The main aspects of this thesis is the analysis of the legal regulation of the product placement and its utilization by the Czech television. Czech law comes from the Directive 2007/65/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council, therefore several chapters are dedicated to secondary law of the European Union. The last part of this thesis includes few ideas about the law de lege ferenda. The second part of this thesis consists of the application of the product placement by the Czech television and there is a comparative analysis with selected television shows from around the world. The comparison is made with the similar shows in regards to their format and style. The result is a recommendation how to apply product placement in the future and kind of mistakes could be prevented.
Promotional activites of companies promoting nutrional supplements in the context of legal regulation of advertising in the Czech republic

This bachelor thesis is focused on the legal and ethical side of advertising of nutritional supplements. In the first (theoretical) part, the thesis covers the definition of advertising, theoretical conception of the advertising law, its development, historical context and the present regulation of advertising in the Czech Republic. An important part is the self-regulation of the advertising industry and its authority in the Czech Republic - Rada pro reklamu. The thesis also includes the main acts and important conceptions which are connected with the advertising industry. Another point is the regulation of advertising industry in the European Union and the application of European directives in Czech conditions. The topic of this bachelor thesis is connected with the advertising of nutritional supplements and its difference from the advertising of medicaments. We can often see various adverts of nutritional supplements which are deceptive in some way. Mostly it is very difficult to recognize if the product is a medicament or a nutritional supplement. There is a big difference between them, but the public is influenced by promotion and believes that a supplement can help with treating diseases. It can be very dangerous because it is often easier to buy a "magic box" with some pills and believe in its effects...
Czech and Austrian media law with emphasis on austrian media act

As a result of current, historically unparalleled, media development, the states of European Union are forced to deal with new fundamental questions in the area of media regulation. Those questions are mainly; (i) can legislature of the EU member states react quickly enough to the technological development and (ii) how does the EU media legislative affect law of member states? In the presented work, answers to the above mentioned questions are based on a commented comparison between sources of the media law in Czech and Austrian constitutional systems. Besides the comparison, the work contains also an explanation of the basic concepts of the legal theory as well as a brief introduction to the historical development of the media law in both the countries. To the best of authors' knowledge, the present study is the first work aimed at comparing the media law of Czech Republic with another EU member state and it may be used as a basis for a discussion on a topic of Czech media law quality.

Bachelor thesis "Image of the Police of the Czech republic in Mladá fronta Dnes and Právo daily newspapers" analyses the way of presentation of the Police of the Czech republic in Mladá fronta Dnes and Právo daily newspapers in a distance of ten years using a content analysis. It explores and compares years of 1996 and 2006 and documents development and movement in the way of imagery of this state institution. The thesis deals with the situation in the Czech society after the year of 1989 from the perspective of police work and theme in its introduction. There are theoreticly described the method of research and its process in further parts and the results analysis in the end of the thesis.
